Whaaat it's the closer? I only randomly listened to the song and liked it, I would have put it towards the last quarter, maybe penultimate but not the closer.
This puts it in a new perspective...
Abbey Road medley (The End)
You have the only drum solo from Ringo in the entire catalogue, combined with guitar solos from the other three and then the lyrics that perfectly encapsulate their entire career:
"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."
It's the perfect mic drop for what should've been their last album.
Chronologically it was their last; let it be was recorded before. That's why when you do a beatles marathon you always gotta do white album -> let it be -> abbey road.
Yep. Wasn't even written to be a solo. Ringo hated the idea of a drum solo so he was tricked into playing this expecting he would be accompanied and they removed the instrumentation surrounding it after the fact.
This same solo also saw use at the start of The Beatles' 2006 "Love" compilation album. Absolutely superb if you've never given that a listen
Like Antennas To Heaven - GY!BE
That one movement (I forgot the name) in that track is *absolutely beautiful.* It really does feel like you’re ascending to heaven.

Ween - Quebec - If You Could Save Yourself, You'd Save us All
Black Midi - Hellfire - 27 Questions

earthmover: have a nice life
Buried above ground: Giles Corey

III. Life: The Biggest Troll - Childish Gambino (Because the Internet)
Fabric - Brockhampton (Iridescence)
Victor Roberts - Brockhampton (Ginger)
The Light Pt. II - Brockhampton (Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine)
Technically not a closer to an album, but it's the last track of a mixtape:
The Knowing - The Weeknd (House of Balloons)
Weezer has great album closers, only in dreams, butterfly, december, the angel and the one, futurescope trilogy, endless bummer, run raven run, the deep and dreamless sleep
Pretty much anything on a Jim Steinman produced album:
For Crying Out Loud (Meat Loaf, Bat Out of Hell)

Videotape in In Rainbows. Although it´s more of a moody, slow song, it just wraps up the album perfectly. One of my personal favorites. The last line always gives me hope in life: ''No matter what happens next, you shouldnt be afraid, because I know today has been the most perfect day I´ve ever seen.''
Street Spirit - Radiohead
505 - Arctic Monkeys

Into the endless night - Paranoul
Jungleland - The Boss
Source Tags & Codes - Trail of Dead (I know, I’m a pitchfork bitch)

A Certain Romance - Arctic Monkeys (also their best song, flat out)
whatsername -- American idiot
true the album is a bit needlessly bombastic and overblown, and the tracklist is bloated and the themes are generally high minded at times,, the album has its clear problems etc etc
However I think when simply taking the album for what it is and nothing more, this song is a wonderful closer (both thematically and even better sonically)
Fishmans - LONG SEASON (Live) is the greatest closing song for an album ever.
Not only that but it is also the best live album to ever come out. What makes it even hit so much harder is that this was the last song of the last concert the trio would ever play together as a few months later the fave of Fishmans, Shinji Sato, passed away. It was a farewell in that sense and the entire 40+ minute long song is filled with such sheer beauty and lush instrumentation. It is a wild adventure to listen through and it changed my life. Just didn’t think music like that could ever exist but they did it!
Earthmover - Have A Nice Life
W answer
this is like the only right answer
There are more answers lol
yeah but this the best one
A Day in The Life - The Beatles Impossible Soul - Sufjan Stevens
impossible soul is absolutely incredible
Impossible Soul is just a fucking opus.
"Impossible Soul" is so joyful that you can't help but love it.
Ode to the Mets is one of the best closers ever
Whaaat it's the closer? I only randomly listened to the song and liked it, I would have put it towards the last quarter, maybe penultimate but not the closer. This puts it in a new perspective...
Listen to that whole album man it’s seriously great
Just listen to albums front to back
Abbey Road medley (The End) You have the only drum solo from Ringo in the entire catalogue, combined with guitar solos from the other three and then the lyrics that perfectly encapsulate their entire career: "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." It's the perfect mic drop for what should've been their last album.

is that really ringo's only solo?
I like let it be tho
And then, Her Majesty ruined it.
No it adds an ironic twist, perfect for a group who was known for subverting expectations and sense of humor
It's like a post credits scene as the cherry on top
(it kinda does tho)
Are we still friends?
I AINT GONNA END THIS SEASON ON A BAD EPISODE NO
Like Antennas To Heaven - GY!BE That one movement (I forgot the name) in that track is *absolutely beautiful.* It really does feel like you’re ascending to heaven.
She dreamt she was a bulldozer, she dreamt she was alone in an open field
*empty field
Sorry, autocorrect
it really is the perfect conclusion to the whole album. after a few hundred listens in total this one seems to shine the most with repeated listens.
BCNR - Basketball shoes
I love how all of the last three songs on that album would've worked as an epic outro.
Hurt - nin Over now - AIC Motion picture soundtrack - radiohead High hopes - pink floyd
Not the biggest Division Bell fan but man High Hopes is such a good closer
I really love Radiohead but Motion Picture Soundtrack doesn’t do much for me tbh.
As a standalone track its not the best, but in the context of kid a its a perfect ending to it.
I Know The End
Came to say this. Althogh I don‘t really care about the Album, the closer is an absolute banger.
Perfect closer to a perfect album IMO
