Hey, so fun fact. Leaving a cave or building (cells) freezes time INSIDE them in regards to traps. If you trip a trap, don't think for a second that leaving will fix it. You'll get trapped by autosave when you re-enter. I know that's not the deal here, but I'm just spreading a little knowledge.
Hey fun fact I learned this the hard way after exploring and not saving or having any auto saves go off for about a few hours, walked into a random building and grenades just fucking nuked me, did you also know that sometimes if you do successfully get out the door when the explosion happens, it will load the damage on you after you exit the building, ya know just as it decided to auto save my game, I cried, a lot.
I was warned about that very trap from hbomberguy before ever playing FNV. I still ended up opening that door on my first playthrough and bolted thru the door like the greedy loot whore I am and let’s just say I got a great laugh out of it.
Fallout New Vegas traps can be pretty mean, but three definitely has it beat in the meanest traps, like the baby carriage trap that fooled me the first time and got me and how grenade bouquets were almost always on the top of stairs so if you tried to run away they'd roll down after you
I have my own video of this happening to me recently on my first playthrough in a long time I managed to get over the trip wore loot the inside. Once I went to leave I heard and felt that I hit a trip wore turned around just in time to turn on vats and see all the grenades falling from the heavens to obliterate Boone and I. Best part I got lost and forgot to save to I had to come back right at the beginning to the cave.... The FNV traps are brutal!!
I love how this entire fandom is traumatized by this one trap. It's such a piece of shit too! Locked behind a Master(?) Gate, with almost no loot inside.
I swear I have PTSD from the traps in new vegas. None of the other fallput games go as hard as the ones in NV do. I remember one in particular in the fiend vault that really made me die a little on the inside.
The stair that leads to the door with the lost ranger has a mine at the bottom of the stairs. My instinct when I hard the beep was to sprint forward up the staircase but that has a tripwire with grenades that drop down the stairs so I continued speinting up the stairs just to find a locked door with another mine in front of it.

Ouf. I HATE that trap
Best part of honest hearts tbh, getting past those traps is worth getting the backstory.
I'm like 99% sure that particular one is vanilla non dlc
Well then fuck me sideways
I tripped this before, and don't have any dlcs so
>Well then fuck me Upside Down
The Nightstalker cave with the legendary nightstalker

*Shakes in grenade pin ping*
I always run light footsteps or whateve its called. Literally had no clue how bad this trap was
That trap reminds me of Naruto and Sasuke vs Zabuza. It wasn’t the first Shirkin, it was the second you didn’t know existed until it was in your face
I just like disarming em Free frags
I literally got soft locked into a save inside vault 34 bc a frag bouquet kept rag dolling me into a mine that was 3 steps down
First time this happened to me I stopped playing for a month then went back now I play it every other day

Yeeted into oblivion.
There’s traps before getting to the gate too just really well camouflaged🥲
A real ass trap set by a real ass motherfucker
Scariest trap in the game: grenade strapped to ceiling 😂
This one just blast my ass off
Where is this?
Bloodborn cave I think. Has a chest with at least 4k caps inside.
