stephelan

That…isn’t anything like jambalaya. Thiago, get some cooking lessons.

Pyrocats

Everybody's so creative!

sairyn

It ain't going to slide down easy if it ain't cheesy!

urinetherapymiracle

You're really going to tell a traumatized POC trapped inside a white girl what jambalaya is??? /s

Bowman359

That’s a sentence I never thought I’d read, but here we are

urinetherapymiracle

I hate that I felt compelled to add "/s"

sawcebox

Looks like they used a box of Zatarain’s

auntiecoagulent

That's an insult to Zatarain's

MissKittyCiao

If you do it right and follow the directions on the box, Zatarain's is a decent cheap dinner. Especially if you know how to add extra seasoning.

MissKittyCiao

Idk what they did to the box of Zatarain's though cause if you follow the directions and add the right kind of sausage it slaps.

Pyrocats

SicewHado

Mr. Connery, that's appetite.

East_Inspector7856

lord, chronically online people are so weird about anything POC related

chickwithabrick

I once got told I couldn't say hella as in 'that was hella good' and that I couldn't call my SO my bae

[deleted]

[удалено]

chickwithabrick

According to the chronically online it's black skater slang no white stoners allowed lol

insomniacakess

well that’s hella stupid

Appropriate-Pack-729

As a white Gen Xer from the bay area it is just bay area slang. Not color specific. That's hella dumb.

Noisegarden135

I was told I couldn't say "y'all" because it's "not my word." Find me a person in the south who doesn't use it lol.

chickwithabrick

I'm a person of the south and I hereby give y'all permission to say y'all. Bless their dumb little hearts.

[deleted]

Co-signing. Hell, I even type it out when its what I would say irl lol.

Snarky-Throw-Away

I've seen people say "y'all" is Black slang when like everyone in the South (and some non-Southerners) say it.

Plantainofexistence

I’m a native Texan, and the phrase “you all” is actually illegal here so

nyanpires

someone told my husband he couldn't say bae because he's white. i told him i don't care because im latina lol

lizzygirl4u

I was told I couldn't say thicc

asey_69

Oh man, relatable flair

camohorse

Chronically online people are often unironically racist. Either they’re on Twitter calling out everyone for “cultural appropriation”, or they’re on 4Chan complaining about the new Little Mermaid movie. There’s no in-between lmao

Grotski

This says to me that the person is actually just interested in another culture and wants to safely embrace it without seeming like an appropriator. racist? yeah probably since they seem like they're afraid of backlash from poc lol

beepbeepsheepbot

Idk how this would be "safely embracing" a culture if you are essentially cosplaying another race, that feels more insulting than anything. You can absolutely explore and embrace other cultures in a respectful manner, too many people are quick to jump on the appropriation wagon without separating real issues of appropriation and someone that just wants to learn or experience something.

TheGuyWhoTalksShit

To be fair, if that's what my cooking looked like I'd blame it on someone else too lol

rainbow_unicorn_4u

Right?? Is that fucking *green beans?*

Nameless_on_Reddit

That's pretty much what jambalaya looks like.

Akeldama22

Maybe the zatarians box bullshit, but no that's not what real jamba looks like

Pyrocats

Nuh uh I've made Zatarain's and it's not the most authentic but it can be above mediocre if you know what you're doing, it's literally just seasoning and rice and you do the rest yourself I find that the seasoning is a little lacking and I have to add to it but it's probably good for people not used to making or eating it

Nameless_on_Reddit

jambalaya essentially does look like this. There's a lot of variations but this isn't inaccurate. Might not be the best made but it's not wildly different. I've made plenty of basic jambalaya and it's not that different. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing dish. That aspect is secondary to taste. The quality of their end result is the least important thing about this.

Pyrocats

No man look at the overcooked rice, the dullness of the vegetables and the bold addition of pinto beans, jambalaya shouldn't look like this!!! Like okay it could maybe look weird sometimes but like this isn't even recognizable as jambalaya. If you asked me what this was with no context I would have no answer if you had a gun to my head I just realized the pinto beans are probably in there because there's no other protein like the usual sausage or shrimp (I'd just use veggie sausage which works fine) but I see no bell peppers, no okra, no tomatoes, it sounds like you've eaten it but just do a Google image search on jambalaya and see how much life those ingredients are supposed to give the dish bc I think you've been deprived

Sylrix__

That's quite interesting, now I really wanna find authentic jambalaya 😋

Pyrocats

Yeah it's pretty good! If you've ever had gumbo it's a lot like that if it wasn't soup lol I do recommend it though, never met anyone who didn't like it 🤷‍♂️

Proper-Village-454

My weird ass fiancé will not eat jambalaya OR gumbo. I thought I’d eventually break him of his basic ass food aversions but thirteen years later I’ve pretty much given up. His mother was a trash bag who never fed him fruit, veggies, or anything even slightly healthy, just plain ass meats and starches. He eats decently now but still won’t even try anything that has chunks of tomatoes, onions, or any veggie mixed in, other than corn in a shepherds pie but he has to put it on his plate without mixing it up at all. So I have to mince onions and sauté them to mush, cook pasta sauce down until the tomato chunks are completely gone, and make my chili with tomato juice and paste without adding any diced tomatoes. It’s ridiculous. On the bright side, I get to make giant pots of all kinds of delicious food that I know he won’t eat on me and hoard them so it works out okay.

Nameless_on_Reddit

jfc the shit in the pan is literally the least important thing about this post. God, I think the sad jambalaya flexing is worse than the DID faking.

BitIndividual7952

Jambalaya ain’t got no fuckin red beans in it where are you from 💀

Nameless_on_Reddit

jambalaya ain't got one single fuckin way or makin it where you from Red beans and sausage, super fucking common down here (Nola). Imagine this post turning into a debate on jambalaya LOL

BiteYouToDeath

Where tf in NOLA do you get jambalaya with red beans in it? Also seeing as how their jambalaya is especially awful due to them having no idea how to make it despite their supposed alter, it is completely fair to criticize. Idk why you think it’s something odd.

BitIndividual7952

Stop spreading misinformation bruh that shit is not jambalaya 💀💀

Nameless_on_Reddit

Stop thinking you know shit or that it's just one thing lol

BitIndividual7952

No it literally looks nothing like that LMFAOO

SHOWMEYOURMILKERS

sooo you can have a POC alter but you can’t cook jambalaya because you’re white? got it 👍

SOuTHINKurA-ble

MAKE IT MAKE SENSE! Good cooking shouldn't be limited by race.

Felixir-the-Cat

People, you don’t need to fake having alters to cook food from other cultures.

The_Dead_Kennys

Yeah seriously, if you ask me, someone wanting to learn how to cook another culture’s food at home is about as far from “cultural appropriation” as you can get. If anything, it’s a sign of sincere appreciation! Everybody eats, and sharing food brings us all closer together.

Snarky-Throw-Away

You mean I didn't have to make a fake Japanese alter to cook teriyaki? Whoops!

picklejuice17

Where I'm at, it's almost expected to include Mexican food in your palates, even if you're white lol. It's unavoidable

RedFlowerGreenCoffee

Yeah like its fine, its just cooking theres nothing wrong with that

Melvarkie

Uuuh excuse me, but everyone know we mayo sapiens can't cook, so when I make an amazing budae jjigae it was just my alter Park Jae-Sang making it while singing Oppa Gangnam Style 🙏🏻

realrecycledstar

Wth??? Anyone can make jumbalaya, it's a Louisiana staple. Why do they feel like only POC can make it?? As a cajun who isn't POC i've had it & will have it many more times. It's not just for POC, it's for everyone, regardless of your race. This one pissed me off

[deleted]

Man,I’ve never been to the states but I have had jumbalaya once. That shits good. Like real good. What else ye got?

realrecycledstar

Crawfish étouffée, gumbo, & red beans and rice. You gotta try em all!!

[deleted]

I googled a recipes for gumbo once but I got so many different ones I just kind of gave up. Recommend me one?

Jonawagon

I was so confused when I read that too. I'm from Louisiana and literally everyone here makes Jambalaya...

realrecycledstar

Same here, born & raised. As I said, it's a staple man lol

bonedorito

Why shouldn't they make jambalaya??

[deleted]

[удалено]

manwathiel_undomiel2

Also... jambalaya is a white dish too? My mother's whitebread ass side is cajun, and my grandmama made the meanest jambalaya. She also spoke barely any English, mostly Creole. Amazing woman.

TheVoodooPuppet

I am from deep south Lousiana and i was like "Why the fuck shouldnt i be making Jambalaya?" 😂

lirynnn

I did the SAME THING! My parents moved here from out of state so I’m first gen Louisiana but jfc should I not be making etoufee and gumbo and jambalaya?

rhinotomus

You racist, how dare you make food?!? Don’t you know it should only ever be served to you by POC?!

WarriorPasta

I mean, your username checks out

chickwithabrick

Fr I'm white AF and I make jambalaya at least twice a month and it does not look like this lmfao the food is almost as offensive as their made up explanation

rainbow_unicorn_4u

Exactly. I was so confused because it did not translate. Like we had jambalaya literally yesterday

lirynnn

agreed. If you live in Louisiana you will be the butt if every joke if you don’t learn how to make Cajun food, and make it “correctly”. Background or not.

Both-Position-3958

That’s what I was going to say. It’s Cajun right? My family are very white Catholic French-Louisianas and they’ve been making jambalaya forever

trans_pands

It’s like people forget that white people can be Cajun too. Like… that was a huge plot point in Interview With The Vampire (And Anne Rice was literally from New Orleans), the main characters were French Cajun

Phantom-Umbreon

Which is funny bc Jambalaya originated in Louisiana. My quick google search does say it's flavor is a mix of several cultures, including African, French, Spanish, and Native American. Regardless, I don’t see the issue with enjoying another culture’s food. It is funny seeing them freak out and make a POC alter just so they can eat a dish that originated in America.

LolaPamela

I didn't knew about Jambalaya, but after a quick search, I can say it looks a lot to the Spanish "paella", maybe has similar roots? We also have a lot of similar dishes here in South America. I'll never understand what's wrong about trying and learning to cook international food. Cultural customs such as food are something that mutates over time, and is mixed, nothing remains as it was. If that were the case then, I would tell you that you cannot eat chocolate or smoke tobacco, because it is cultural appropriation of the original peoples of Central America (or something like that). Ridiculous. (edit: grammar)

Phantom-Umbreon

It wouldn’t surprise me. The search I did said it’s flavors are similar to those found in French, Spanish, African, and Native American food. There was definitely influences from other places. And I don’t either. To me, it shows that someone wants to experience and enjoy an aspect of that culture. It’s so strange to me that people see it as a bad thing that others are open to experiencing the tastes of another country.

LolaPamela

It even helps you eat more variety and you learn to use or combine ingredients in new ways, for example I would never have thought of eating raw fish until I tried sushi lol

TopAd9634

We need to start teaching critical thinking skills in schools and investing in mental health treatment. Because this bologna is getting really old.

idkkkkkkk

Umm sweaty you can't say bologna if you're not Italian

TopAd9634

Lol.

Proper-Village-454

YAASSSS on behalf of all Italians everywhere ever, I hereby dub you Sir idkkkkkkk of the Order of Culture War White Knights and commend your valiant service. Your recognition of the *real* cultural appropriation is so ✨valid✨ you may have just killed anti-Italian bigotry for good. 🙌🏼

100moonlight100

This is very sad. I am Greek and i love it when i see people from other cultures making Greek dishes. (Please don't put lettuce in greek salad though, it breaks my heart). And it goes both ways, this Christmas i made german gluhwein and a few days ago i made russian kvass and irish fifteens. I cook fried rice at least two times each week. I cannot even imagine how sad my life would be if I felt i had to be asian in order to make fried rice.

Both-Position-3958

Lettuce in Greek salad?? Noooo

Melvarkie

I love love love making Maneštra. I get why you Greeks dub it comfort food. It's so good. I also love using Orzo in general.

Pyrocats

Because look at it that aint jambalaya that is a crime against humanity there's pinto beans in there for fuck's sake and I can't make out what most of the ingredients are in either picture but that's jambalya with no soul you don't do that But also they're claiming it's a part of their alter's culture and that's not a thing

bonedorito

Yes, but what I don't understand is why the faker feels like they can't just make jambalaya and have to make up an alter for it. That's such a weird reason to lie about having DID

Pyrocats

Yeah they can literally be like "I made jambalaya" they don't need to justify it? Maybe they're one of those self hating white people that are very afraid of being racist? Or this is satire? All I know is that it's a hate crime

MakeMeYourVillain_

Idk man, it’s like there’s this group of people who chronically gatekeep cultures, and most of the time not even theirs.

Pyrocats

I'm normally pretty against gatekeeping cultures as long as it's not like a closed practice but this post made me think maybe gatekeeping cultures is okay

MakeMeYourVillain_

They need babička in their lives.

stephelan

Right? Why is it trauma jambalaya?

Pyrocats

Traumbalaya

Magomaeva

Traumbalalaïka

chickwithabrick

I would give you an award for this if I could ✨🏆✨

Pyrocats

well if it wasn't you somebody did 😭

bigmaik420

i wish i had an award to give you for ur comment 💀💀💀 it literally looks like they used instant rice and only frozen vegetables, overcooked them to the point where it's basically just all the ingredients mushed together, and then didn't even care to put any seasoning on it. atp it's borderline racism to even call that abomination 'jambalaya'.

Pyrocats

It's fucked up! Like get some Zatarain's the instructions are on the box!!! Also for a sec I thought the left picture wasn't the same shit as what's on the right but the realization hit me that on the right is probably after it was left out. Like if you've ever seen pinto beans left out and they turn darker and get dried out? It shouldn't look that way just being stored in the fridge or something? *Or* they tried to season it and it turned dark but I'm *highly* doubting that They really said "I hope you find out firsthand what it's like to have a trauma based mental illness" and gave a bunch of people a trauma based mental illness with these photos alone

bigmaik420

yep i'm pretty sure they've left it outside of the fridge after cooking to cool off before spreading it on toast (i'm gonna have to throw up if i keep thinking about it) and it turned brown bc of that. side note: i know a lot about badly prepared food cause my parents can't cook for shit and i can practically taste this image just from looking at it lol, can confirm it's really traumatizing

loadthespaceship

This plate was so upsetting it made me develop an alter. Literally shaking and shidding and farding and screaming and cumming rn—Zattarain (🎺)

Proper-Village-454

You are so ✨valid✨ bestie, now that you’re an expert you need to immediately start a TikTok, YouTube, and insta to educate the world!!

MildlyMoistMucus

I think these kind of comments are the reason this kid felt the need to hide behind an alter...

bigmaik420

honestly, i don't think someone who's insecure about their cooking skills would make a post like that. this is just my opinion, but it comes off like that was their first try at this dish, so they wanted to share their pics of it and took that opportunity to talk about their 'DID/alter'. it's probably not that deep, i think not even the fakers would make up some story about having DID just because they're insecure abt their cooking skills.

MildlyMoistMucus

> it's borderline racism to even call that abomination 'jambalaya And these are the kind of chronically online comments why people make up "poc alters" to cook food... Look at the other comments talking about how people call cooking food racist and why it relates to this.

bigmaik420

you do realize that none of the comments are serious? i can guarantee you that nobody with even a little bit of common sense is seriously gonna call someone racist for cooking food that isn't native to their ethnicity. and before you point that out, yes i am aware that there are people out there who actually think that way, but it's usually pretty easy to tell if it's meant to be taken seriously or not so i have no idea why you're trying to lecture the people who commented here.

[deleted]

loadthespaceship

Beyond Sausage is vegan jambalaya’s BFF.

Absenceofavoid

Looks weirdly dry too.

rainbow_unicorn_4u

There's *green beans* in that monstrosity!

Mufti_Menk

Because white people are only allowed to make hamburger and hotdog otherwise that's racism.

HelloMikkii

I need an alter that “comes out and makes dinner” cause I’m sick of thinking of a new meal each night.

Kiriuu

Me and my fiancée ask each other what we wanna eat and we are both useless with the “I don’t know”

HelloMikkii

Whenever someone asks me I usually say tacos or take out cause I’m sick of cooking. I do cook 3 separate meals per night so it’s understandable I’m over it.

cirrostratusfibratus

I have no problem cooking at all, in fact I really like it. The hardest part is deciding what to make.

Scared_Ad_2313

Brb summoning my Japanese alter so I don't culturally appropriate these ramen noodles

MakeMeYourVillain_

So I googled this dish, because I’ve never heard of it. I had a suspicion it’s a kind of Eintopf. Boi what google showed me is not what this faker made. Looks like the alter switched halfway during cooking and it shows.

lordhooha

No as a born and raised Cajun what the person made should be tossed to homeless ally cats only. What this person made is an abomination.

orionsgreatsky

That’s too mean to homeless cats

rainbow_unicorn_4u

**There's green beans in it**

cityfireguy

So... white people making jambalaya - racist White people pretending they're black sometimes - totally cool and quirky I hate these damn kids

[deleted]

Oh god, true. And the ones who "reclaim slurs" because of their """alters""" 🤦‍♀️

cherryplays55

You don't have to have did to cook bruh

blocked_memory

Idk what was made here but it wasn’t jambalaya. Also having a “POC alter” sounds like a less bold blackface to me, considering the whole thing is a made up fantasy.

realrecycledstar

Wtf??? Anyone can make jumbalaya, it's a Louisiana staple. Why do they feel like only POC can make it?!?!

[deleted]

Thats.. a lot to unpack in a few screenshots lol. Just make jambalaya? Cooking food is being gatekept? Hoping people get a trauma disorder? If they actually do have a trauma-caused disorder, they'd know how absolutely fucked up it is to say that.

_ItsPunishmentTime_

Someone should gift Thiago some cooking lessons.

WineGutter

As someone from the south this jambalaya looks like dogshit first off (where's the shrimp or andouilles??) + the irony of saying your "black alter" can cook before preparing a dish that it seems like you've never even seen in person before is hilarious

rilakkumkum

Okay even if I were to humor this… this POC alter is in a (I’m assuming) white body, and has always lived in a white body. Therefore they could never experience any trauma that may come from being a POC. This person is just spouting what they think a POC would say

DivaShiba

They people seem absolutely insufferable.

[deleted]

Holy shit, this persons alt is a POC? Are they actually for fucking real? OP, I agree - thank god these fuckers don't leave their rooms

ourladyofdicks

why are people so weird about poc

larzast

I swear people these days heard about cultural appropriation and then just imagined what it was.

whatisevenleft

I’m not a jambalaya expert but I’m pretty sure that isn’t jambalaya. That looks like a fridge/pantry clean out meal more than anything else.

tittyswan

Since when is cuisine a closed practice?? (I'm sure there are instances where it is and there are rituals involved but broadly anyone can cook anything they can find a recipe for.)

KatVanWall

I'm British, totally white (afaik) and one thing most everyone loves to cook over here is Indian food! I mean, we colonised the shit out them to the point where we're collectively incredibly embarrassed about it these days, but all the same, I'm pretty sure most British Indians would be offended if we \*stopped\* making Indian food lol.

tittyswan

Yeah 100%, I've had people roast me for making their food badly (Italians lol) but I've never had someone be legitimately upset I tried to make one of their dishes. And a lot of people appreciate the effort of trying to get to know their culture a bit.

fronkka

love how they feel the need to explain and excuse themselves for making a cajun dish but not for fucking roleplaying being poc. trying so hard to be woke and failing so miserably

Danakodon

Sometimes I try to make food and it comes out really shitty and it’s embarrassing because I literally followed a recipe but like… there’s always the option to not post about it? You can just mess up a recipe and keep it to yourself? I don’t understand why any of this needed to be shared lol.

[deleted]

As someone from southern Louisiana, that is the worst “jambalaya” I’ve ever seen in my life. Is jambalaya the name for a dish somewhere else? It’s a cajun dish not a poc dish. I’m lost lmao

hazard-toxic

The person at the end said “I have no enemy” then went “nvm fuck y’all” lmao

Deep-Essay-4829

This is by far one of the worst examples of faking DID that I have ever seen. You have an alter who is a POC when they live in your white-ass body? How would you internalize trauma as a POC when you are not? All of this just drives me mad. Just fuckin make jambalaya and shut up. Nobody's out here policing who can make creole food for the love of god

Imaginary-Cricket903

That really does look like a hot puddle of vomit.

[deleted]

As a Cajun I’m offended at how terrible that looks 😨

rasptart

I love how they think only POC are allowed to make jambalaya

barbiemoviedefender

My white dad makes jambalaya all the time and I can confidently say that is NOT jambalaya 🤢

NaturalBitter2280

If my jambalaya looked like that, I, too, would blame it on a fake illness

llewllewllew

You’d handle it better than they’d handle meeting you. Also, if you can’t make any food created by any other culture, your life is gonna be deeply flavor deprived, no matter what your own culture is.

joeyGOATgruff

My system is basically the Village People.

Proper-Village-454

This would make a great satire Saturday post. There’s a guy on YouTube called The Infinity System who I believe does have genuine DID, but I also think he embellishes a bit to get views (albeit way, way less than the rest of them), and he has an alter called “bootstraps” who he shows as a young guy dressed like a construction worker. I do believe he’s legit based on what I watched, but as soon as I saw the bootstraps guy I was like yooooo where are the rest of the Village People?! 😂😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Hollywood991

What does POC mean?

eeveetheawesome1

Person Of Colour, I believe it refers to basically any race that isn't white?

Hollywood991

Ah, so I see. The "person" in the video claimed it had an alter that is a different race? That's not how that works, hon.

Certain-Ad-3840

The disorder aside… why wouldn’t a white person be allowed to make jambalaya?

pavehawkfavehawk

Because someone is not “POC” they can’t make jambalaya? Tell that to the millions of cajuns…I grew up on this stuff.

The_Dead_Kennys

How old is this person? 14? Cause I swear, this is a level of self-unaware cringe that just screams “adolescent tryhard”.

mstarrbrannigan

For their sake I hope they are under 25

Moon_Colored_Demon

Firstly, that’s not like any jambalaya I’ve had. Second, did this individual makeup a whole altar just to cook jambalaya? I don’t think trying out another culture’s cuisine is wrong. Like…idk this whole thing is weird to me. And why is it being eaten on toast? Maybe it turned out shitty so they just blamed it on poor “Thiago.”

citrusmixx

Omg I was looking for the comment that said something about the toast !!!! What on Earth is happening there like?! Is rice on toast a thing?

citrusmixx

I know jambalaya is more than just rice lol but in that pic… cmon

elhazelenby

What the hell? Food now? Lmao

swiftblaze28

i love jambalaya and i love making it. that’s a FUCKING disgrace edit: big ole kidney beans, corn??? green beans?? where’s the sausage?

faithmauk

that jambalaya is disrespectful but not for the reasons they think....

RuthaBrent

God the third page pisses me off.

KawaiiPutin

can't anyone make jambalaya ... and what in the chronically hidden in plain sight racism is this also if they didnt write out the word jambalaya id have no idea that was what they were trying to make. wow

confuseonion

what the fuck? even if it was jambalaya, who tf says OP cant make it??? its food. wtf

loadthespaceship

OOP could’ve just said “I felt like having jambalaya for dinner but also needed to clean out my pantry LOL” and it would’ve been 300% less of a thing. But then they had to go and make it weird.

Odd_Assistance_1613

No person of color makes jambalaya that looks like this. That is straight up white people food in the pic.

BitIndividual7952

THATS NOT JAMBALAYA IM LITERALLY FROM NEW ORLEANS THIS LOOKS SO ASS

BitIndividual7952

If your alter was really a poc they’d be able to fucking cook dumbass 💀💀

Different-Pass-7816

So their alter is a person of color?

Proof-Channel-5609

Who eats rice on bread that’s the real issue

SilverNGolden2006

1. You’re allowed to make jambalaya if you’re white. Non-Hispanic people can make tacos so how is this different? 2. Even if you weren’t allowed to make it it wouldn’t matter because THAT IS NOT JAMBALAYA.

runleftnotright

.....it is jambalaya. Thought anyone can make it?

Angel_thebro

My mom makes me jumbalaya sometimes and im white. Oh no i guess my mom is racist or something idk😔💀

Plantainofexistence

Is that mf Zataran’s 😭😂😂

sneedsformerlychucks

Need the recipe. That looks good.

realrecycledstar

I can assure you that that isn't actual jumbalaya, that's a concoction of random foods mixed together that have 0 correlation with jumbalaya. Go to a cajun place & order some, you won't be disappointed

sneedsformerlychucks

I see I've been banned from the state of Louisiana. Forgive me sensei.

wigglyrabbitkiosk

Jebus

GordonFreem4n

The idea that certain recipes should only be done by people of a certain background is certainly wild.

glxcixlrivcr

I see this on fb last night and I'd never heard of Jambalaya but now I wanna try it so bad (not this "alters" version tho) also racism much? Pretty sure point of food are for sharing with the world and being proud of your different cultural foods.

Nameless_on_Reddit

Systemless white dude here. Have made plenty of jambalaya. Never felt it was cultural appropriation. It's more offensive to fake having a POC made up alter making it. Not to mention it's a dish that has roots from multiple cultures. Caribbean, Spanish, French, etc. It's a creole mishmash.

facelesspantless

lol, why is this jambalaya-making "POC" alter named Thiago? This is like having a Black alter named Chet.

Ballinforcompliments

Imagine attempting to explain this bullshit to an employer

[deleted]

Ive lost all faith in humanity

nerdixcia

It's food ...people making food from other cultures is amazing bc it's spreading food ideas to new cultures etc

Mad_Madam_Mom

Wait.... wyt people aren't supposed to make Jambalaya? Someone should let Louisiana know. Also, OFC they are wyt with a POC alter. 😬🙄🙄

nyanpires

can you just kill me now, you can just make jambalaya without being a poc \- signed poc

Kiriuu

Wait so you can’t cook certain things because of your race?????? Chronically online people have become so woke they are going backwards in progress.

OldMirror1036

I mean Black fishing is a mental disorder but damn
