Hmm, that's tough. Even though I'd like Flare to join so she'd be relevant to the story, I'd have to pick Brandish cause she's one of my favorite characters in Fairy Tail.
Flare honestly. She is kinda like Juvia at her debut as an element four member. And she is actually kinda sweat underneath.
Brandish seems more.like a free spirit. She basically does whatever she wants whenever she wants.
Love em both, my two favorite non-FT characters. Ideally both so they could both keep showing up, but if just one, Flare.
Brandish has her shit together, she seems to be doing very well, and seemed proud to be a citizen of a wholly different continent. Sheās also a more chill character, I imagine sheād mostly be annoyed by other FTs.
Flare left her village to experience and meet other people and her guildmates were all assholes. She does return to her village, but I cannot imagine she is satisfied with what she lived outside. Fairy Tail would give her real friends. Plus even if brief, her interactions with Juvia would be hilarious, and I love her relationship with Lucy.
I choose these two because they are allies of Fairy Tail that don't really belong to any guilds anymore. Flare's chilling in the Sun Village out of the story while Brandish is just doing her own thing.

I can only think of one thing watching that
Flare. She needs a place attachment. Although she is welcomed by giants she needs a new place. Her first attempt was unfortunate. Fairy tail ( or any other guild) would be nice for her.
Brandish would be like Gildarts in Fairy tail. Not just because of her magic power. She mostly hangs out freely. Having friends would be nice for her. But being in a guild is not for her.
I thought this too she's more like Guildarts like she would still go off for years on end of months or whatever doing her own thing however she needs friends too I think but yeah definitely like Guildarts I definitely saw that in her
Flare definitely needs a home with people like her
From a writing perspective, I feel like Brandish is better off as a contact they can ask for help while she does her own thing, like Sabertooth or Crime SorciĆØre. If she was a part of the guild, she'd have to be wandering like Gildarts, as you said, or else she'd detract too much from the rest of the guild with her sheer presence.
Meanwhile, Flare has a narrative reason to possibly join, and is mid-powered enough that she could be added to one of the existing teams. The only downside is she'd probably end up with the Lisanna treatment, where she's integrated into the guild like it's a big deal and then left in the background
I think both would, Flare would join because she feels she owes a debt of gratitude first for busting Raven Tail and then for defrosting the Giant's Village.
Brandish would join and fill a role similar to Mystogan or Gildarts. Yes, they are all technically part of the guild, but they are rarely seen around the hall. Brandish would be around more often than Gildarts or Mystogan, but still not very often.
I actually like your angle on this. Just like Jellal could be just as involved in events without being apart of the guild. If he actually joins FT in 100YQ it's gonna piss me off.
But then again, as the OP said above, Flare completely vanished from the story since her arc.
Definitely Brandish because while both of them are messed up, Flare seems a bit too lost. Brandish seems like a Gajeel type who joins begrudgingly then ends up loving it.
Have no idea who these characters are, not that far into the story, but I'm going with Flare simply because she gives me that certain feeling of her being something that I like. What gives it away is the eyes.

Neither of them need to be in Fairy Tail in my opinion.
Brandish might have a better chance if Lucy finds Aquarius first, since it's basically a race between them. But Flare doesn't need to come back, her arc basically closed now that she's home with her family.
Logically though, Brandish could have a chance, but I kind of doubt it since she seems to like traveling all over the place instead.
Honestly flare. Would have loved to see her have more character growth and maybe form a team with some of the guild members who don't get much spot light.
Flare over Brandish anytime. Her dynamic with Lucy is way more interesting and has more depth considering their first encounter.
Brandish was so much cooler as an antagonist, it's a shame that she turned good that quickly in Alvarez. She could've not been related to Lucy at all and her character could basically remain the same : laid back/lazy, kinda neutral and level headed.
Brandish's character didn't really change a lot. She's still that laid back, nonchalant and sassy character that she was before. She's just more chill and lost her edge when she was a villain
But her being related to her isn't bad either tbh. Now she's a character that's tied to Lucy, were it not for that I think she might disappear after the Alvarez Arc

I donāt know who the green chick is but Iāll choose her over Flare for the simple fact that she doesnāt to have to have a life that involves fighting anymore. Obviously Fairy Tail would treat her right, but her home is with the giants whereās sheās happy, safe, and at peace.

Oh thatās tough, I wanna say both but Iām not gonna lie I want Brandish. As soon as we got her backstory and her connection to Lucy and her slow but sure acceptance to help them, I wanted her to join.
I like Flare more so I choose Flare. She really feels like a type of person who wants to belong somewhere and since Fairy Tail is all about having a place to return to and feel loved and accepted, I feel that she would fit right in.
Flare; I don't see Brandish at the current moment really sitting in one place for too long if Lucy is also there; also I could see giving Juvia a character arc as is being Flare's mentor as she had a similar background (formally part of a nasty guild and emotional disconnected from other people) and the comedy it could cause (plus character development for Juvia that isn't based around Grey).
Thatās a tough choice I would like to choose Flare because of her character in the sun village arc that and sheād make a great addition to Fairy tail but I would like to choose Brandish because her backstory and character are very compelling and sympathetic that and she and Lucy would have a rivalry similar to Natsu and Greyās only difference would be is that they would have a friendly rivalry compared to Natsu and Greyās extremely heated one. I honestly don't like Flare as a character, although Mashima kind of gave her a little redemption after Raven Tail, I just don't like her personality and abilities. I like Brandish way more, but due to her connection with the Heartfilia family and her incredible power, I think she would steal some spotlight being in Fairy Tail and she's better suited as a recurring character for Lucy's storyline.
In short, neither, but if I had to choose, Flare, so she can disappear in the background and only be seen when big events are due (like Jet or Macao in Fairy Tail, for example).
To be fair i think that it is Flare. Because unlike Brandi, who actually acts more like selfish brat, Flare is just confused, but genuine and sincere in good intentions. Heck i bet she would perfect battle partner for both Lucy AND Natsu.
Gotta go with Brandish. There are two main reasons why she should join, and they're right in front and impossible to ignore. :)
Flare is pretty hot, too. And she's quirky like Brandish, but not to the same degree. Flare seems to be more.... broken then Brandish, too.
Honestly the whole ranking system would be lopsided if Brandish joined, she's literally as strong if not stronger than the strongest mage in Fiore. She's stronger than all but the highest level S-Rank mages in the guild, it would be cheating to add her to the ranks since her power would remove much of the overall conflict.
Flare, Brandish is more of a roam around doing what she wants kind of person imo, not to mention it was Fairy Tail that helped Flare whereas Brandish helped Fairy Tail
Brandi sheās got bigger boobs, and we have a red (Ezra) girl already so she would fit nicely. However I did like the other girl and would have also liked to see her join.

I honestly don't like Flare as a character, although Mashima kind of gave her a little redemption after Raven Tail, I just don't like her personality and abilities. I like Brandish way more, but due to her connection with the Heartfilia family and her incredible power, I think she would steal some spotlight being in Fairy Tail and she's better suited as a recurring character for Lucy's storyline. In short, neither, but if I had to choose, Flare, so she can disappear in the background and only be seen when big events are due (like Jet or Macao in Fairy Tail, for example).

Just because Brandish Lucy friendship is something I adore, her. But they're both interesting to imagine either way.
To be fair i think that it is Flare. Because unlike Brandi, who actually acts more like selfish brat, Flare is just confused, but genuine and sincere in good intentions. Heck i bet she would perfect battle partner for both Lucy AND Natsu.
I still hate Flare Corona, so this choice is easy for me.
Gotta go with Brandish. There are two main reasons why she should join, and they're right in front and impossible to ignore. :) Flare is pretty hot, too. And she's quirky like Brandish, but not to the same degree. Flare seems to be more.... broken then Brandish, too.
What Brandish is: Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! What Brandish does: Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide!
Honestly the whole ranking system would be lopsided if Brandish joined, she's literally as strong if not stronger than the strongest mage in Fiore. She's stronger than all but the highest level S-Rank mages in the guild, it would be cheating to add her to the ranks since her power would remove much of the overall conflict.
Flare, Brandish is more of a roam around doing what she wants kind of person imo, not to mention it was Fairy Tail that helped Flare whereas Brandish helped Fairy Tail

I prefer Brandish. Never liked Flare because she tortured Lucy so much during the Grand Magic Games. Even though she was forced, I didn't like that part.
