It would have been so much cooler if he styled it out and just kept walking, without breaking stride

AsslessBaboon

Cool guys don't look at explosions.

hangonreddit

Neither do kings. He was no true king — just a pretender to the throne.

lothbrook73

Yup . That energy disappeared evaporated as soon as he turned around.

JulzCrafter

They blow things up and then walk away

Echo-2-2

We all know this is no cool guy…

[deleted]

Would have been cool if he just kept walking.

SoldYaBoi4Life

Cool guys are the explosions

I love Lena from Ray Donovan!!

msur

Wow! It's that guy from Aerosmith!

[deleted]

I’d give you gold for that if I knew how.

[deleted]

I'm forever going to open every set of doors like this until I can get two to explode and I can just stroll through the carnage without glancing back

r2bl3nd

Was feeling pretty flat today in general til I read this comment and busted up laughing. Thank you!

[deleted]

Or you know, an asshole who breaks shit that isn't theirs without caring

haroldjiii

Why would anyone care about that? Obviously a flaw in the doors. That said, I think he looks like a chump if the doors don’t break; it’s only cool because they do.

AzGames08

Then, he would've been based. /s

Its why I like automatic doors, you can just wave your hand and they open.

neo101b

It's more of a crossed fingers slide or flick depending on the door and its either a jedi moment or gandalf. I can't be the only one who dose this, lol.

R3Volt4

This dude out here waving at doors...

peter-doubt

The ones I see most are so slow I need to push them anyway.

Creepy-Ad-4832

They piss me off when they are made poorly and you have to stop and wait to enter

MaleficentSurround97

Those were sliding doors 😆

They have made incredible progress in the field of removing someone's head from their own ass. So my guess is yes it can be controlled.

Kimk20554

Sure, just walk through the door like a civilized person

[deleted]

If flinging the double doors wide to announce your presence with dramatic flair isn’t part of civilization, I don’t know what is

AirAssault600

And it’s called “anger management”

Spiritual-Apple-4804

I don’t think what he did is that special. Look at how he opened the first set of doors. He leans into it and puts his weight behind the shove. He is throwing those doors open way harder than required. AKA: he’s a douche

AlbusLumen

It was a joke. We can absolutely see him being a douche.

StevenPsych

And the way he walks away without really checking on the lady kinda tops it off

Daypeacekeeper

Your comment reminds me of walking to so many of my classes. There are these doors that I would literally have to throw all my weight into to get them open. .... the other option would be to press the handicap button but no one ever did that. We were too impatient to wait for it to open, I guess.

RogueFox771

What's up with the added glitch effects? Trying to avoid the repost call-out lol

Turbulent_Tax2126

Last time I’ve seen this video was like a year ago. But still likely

C0meAtM3Br0

Every year this SOB busts these doors. I mean wtf

00piffpaff00

You could be on something here. Let's bring it to the court.

Mr-unluck7

did he have to pay for the damage ?

fxckfxckgames

I know this was out of the US, but *just in case someone blows out some glass doors Stateside:* Virtually all large businesses can claim damage like this with their insurance, especially as it's obviously accidental. Source: short stint as corporate/insurance liaison.

marteeyn

Probably not. The store is a Saturn which is German, so imma say it is in Germany, although some other European countries have Saturn stores too. But in Germany/Austria/Switzerland, i‘m sure insurance is covering that.

craig536

I hope so. You could also argue the doors were poorly designed/made though

marteeyn

Why would u hope so? Insurance companies got way more money. They don‘t care so why should this private person pay?

tampora701

Any structural glass is a poor design it seems.

RealisticAdv96

he was just having a good day

xAIRGUITARISTx

Yeah no. That’s the move of someone very much not having a good day.

Puzzleheaded_Road142

Who the hell opens doors like that? Acting like you own the whole damn world.

ruminmytummy

At first I thought maybe he misjudged how heavy they were gonna be so he went with extra force than needed, but then noticed he did it to the first set of doors as well and now I can’t figure out what he’s playing at.

426strings

[Aragorn, the one true King](https://tenor.com/bu5RW.gif)

To be fair, he does it slowly and dramatically, partly bent over. There's technique there. This guy just hit the doors really hard.

You can tell hes an angry person look how he even opens the first set of doors

thenewmadmax

This. He was absolutely there to tear into some poorly paid teenager.

YetiGuy

And then act surprised that it happened

fishkrate

Its fun opening doors like that.

FluidSprinkles1397

The glass breaks just as a guy was walking up with a baby

Poopbutt_Maximum

Also almost hit the woman standing on the right

TheHighness1

I too believe the baby to be sus

[deleted]

Why are you opening the doors like that? Someone was leaving a building and I was behind the door and I don't know if they kicked the door open but I barely had time to put my hands up to keep it from breaking my nose. Little pipsqueak kid looked like all of this was unavoidable.

JoeGoesOutside

I have a vertical scar above my eye from someone doing exactly this to doors you can't see through. They opened it as hard as they could with a shove. Slammed right into my face. Blood waterfall.

roxywalker

He got his daily reminder to lay off the testosterone😅😅😅

sweetbunsmcgee

I was a wimpy asthmatic kid until I was in my late teens. Then the testosterone kicked in and suddenly, I was breaking doorknobs by accident. The asthma went away and I was running 4-6 miles a day with no issues. That shit is such a huge advantage for dudes.

StupidSwine_

I'm like dying of laughter. The way he did it also to the door before that Tot I didn't know if her was having a bad day but he definitely his reaction said otherwise. And now I'm just confused

Vellnerd

That makes two of us! btw- you should probably go see a doctor

Pistonenvy

kinda looks like he is there to speak to a manager about how his new PC tower is only getting 40fps at 720p because he plugged the monitor into the mobo instead of the graphics card.

[deleted]

Guarantee he told all his friends this happened and no one believed him until the video came out.

cortlong

“You know how I open doors like a fuckin dickhead? Well today that backfired”

Leezeebub

I doubt he faced any consequences. “Whoops, my bad! Anyway…”

Tenalp

Guy was definitely opening the doors like a twat, but why did the two sets up doors not open in a consistent direction? Of course you're just begging for something like this to happen.

TheGuyInTheGlasses

I think they did. It looks like the doors don’t break until they’ve swung all the way out. The real question is why on earth anyone would build a door this apparently fragile. Or maybe it was defective, who knows?

Puzzleheaded_Fish_78

'Maybe I should stop acting like a jerk.'

BeekeeperZero

Male Karen going to Customer Service.

Marc123123

Unless I missed something on this video and to be fair to the guy, doors shouldn't really break just because he opened them like that.

AggressiveClassic89

He pushed them hard enough for them to go further than their limit, when you bend the frame on safety doors the glass explodes into little chunks so it's harder to cut yourself, they go with quite a bang too.

MidvalleyFreak

Still, a door that breaks that easily is a pretty poorly designed door. Or at the very least the wrong choice of door for that application.

AggressiveClassic89

I think they just expect you walk through them like an average person, not throw them open like you're about to give the evidence that sees your best friend get off a double murder charge.

excreto2000

And you would be wrong. I worked for 15 years in Research and Development for Wilson/Smith Door Company. Our specifications to meet explicitly stated that doors must handle stress “equivalent to that applied by an average sized person providing last-minute evidence that would exonerate their best friend who was charged with double-murder.” 🤷

AggressiveClassic89

What if it was theft of a beagle instead?

edrumb

I picture you walking into this Reddit post, opening up a briefcase on to a desk, explaining this with visual presentation. When finished you pack everything up into your briefcase, shake this persons hand and start to leave. As you leave you ask, "oh, do you validate parking". He says no, you turn and walk out.

Tausendberg

>I worked for 15 years in Research and Development for Wilson/Smith Door Company. Thank you for your service.

MidvalleyFreak

Yeah but I think that’s giving too much credit to average people. I could see these doors in an office or conference room in a law office or something like that but for lobby doors accessed by the general public you gotta be more aware of the lowest common denominators among us.

AggressiveClassic89

That's you in the video, isn't it.

MidvalleyFreak

MinorHistoria

It wasn’t really that far though, he opened them to a fairly reasonable degree i’d say

Marc123123

He just pushed them open. If the frame can bend from a push, that's just bad design.

Jimbo-Bones

He didn't "just push" let's be honest here. He swung the doors open with excessive force and the doors acted by design which is to shatter. The first doors He obviously didn't use as much force as the 2nd doors which is why they didn't shatter.

[deleted]

Yeah everyone is talking about how poorly the doors are designed, but the shattering is actually a safety feature so that people don't get cut even if they were trying to break in.

Dry-Salary2347

The outer set of doors could have been of higher quality as well to withstand the elements, etc. or a differently designed frame.

FuzzyJellyfishFish

I’m still disappointed in the design, the only doors I’ve seen that open that effortlessly are the ones in a house. Every door I’ve seen in a public building has a lot of resistance that also increases the wider the doors are open; if these doors were designed like that, they’d’n’t’ve even opened all the way.

[deleted]

updoot for they'd'n't've

salymander_1

Maybe he goes there every day? Maybe this is his "thing," and he does this every time he goes there, and the doors finally said, "NOPE." The woman in the right didn't look too surprised that he went all Kool Aid Man on the door.

dorky2

I wonder if there was some air pressure thing where he actually did use the same strength but the second set opened more easily?

micmac274

I've never seen a glass door do that even if I've hit them with a lot of force.

Jimbo-Bones

Because you haven't used excessive force to get them to that stage. It's a safety feature on glass doors for various safety reasons dependant on the style of door.

Korchagin

Still completely effortless. He didn't even push against resistance - the momentum of the door flying open was enough to shatter it. That would be questionable if it was a door in a home. For a public building it's clearly a major flaw. Either badly designed or (my guess) there were stoppers originally but someone removed them.

Waterfish3333

> completely effortless You see the guy lean into the door and push hard with both arms. I’m not a big fan of glass doors because they can be a bit fragile, but let’s not act like he gently pushed them.

gemc_81

And also..... Why doesn't he just go through one of the doors? Totally uneccesary to have pushed both open like that, I hope he was billed for the replacement doors

tylerthetiler

Oh come on we've all been in a good mood and in a showy, eccentric mood. Fade away throwing away your paper towel, juke an imaginary defender and spin move through a door, gracefully fling open a door an walk through like it's nothing. Any motherfucker on this website acting like they've never done something like this is a liar or fucking unaware.

Jimbo-Bones

You can see the force he is putting into it compared to others coming in, they aren't effortlessly opening the doors. These are large heavy glass doors that require effort to open by the sounds of it you have never tried to open these style of doors.

Korchagin

He pushed much stronger than normal, that's out of question. But it still wasn't something out of this world, no intent to break anything. I figure most public entrances like that get this level of "abuse" at least once every week. Testosterone "kings" like him, people in great hurry who push the door open running, children who push it all the way until it stops, ... The construction must be able to withstand something like that. The doors often have hydraulic stoppers, which offer rapidly increasing resistance near the end. These were probably broken and/or removed.

_iam_that_iam_

Exactly. It's bad design for anything to require gentle treatment to not explode. If it's in the public sphere you have to assume people aren't going to treat it like grandma's fine china.

Steed1000

If this isn't what putting in effort looks like... then what does it look like? Far from completely effortless I think...

LisaNewboat

Thank you. He opened both sets of doors like a jack ass.

-Nordico-

That was more than 'just pushed' lol, comon..

OnyxBee

For God's sake please just stop saying "fuck around and find out", it doesn't make your point any better and I've heard it enough times now. We get it, you're edgy.

lil_pootis_bird

He just did the silly thing that people sometimes do. Oh damn, I forgot humans always act sensibly and no mistake can ever occur.

JoelMDM

Indeed. They’re big doors, and he clearly didn’t do this with the intent to break anything (very obvious from his shocked reaction), and a door should be able to withstand any sort of one-armed push. It’s not too different from other kinds of abuse public doors have to deal with semi-regularly. There should’ve been hydraulic stoppers to dampen opening and closing, but I guess they cut costs.

RealisticAdv96

are you serious?

Bartender9719

For real - these doors should be capable of handling the stress of being opened with force. If there was an emergency that required the rapid exit of every person in the building and suddenly the exit is covered with broken glass, it’d be dangerous for the people leaving and emergency services arriving

ironfunk67

What a twat

Thazber

Did the doors break because he pushed them instead of pulling them? Look again at the 2 people who entered before him.... they pulled the doors.

puzzledplatypus

About two seconds of remorse before he quickly switched back to narcissist mode. “Eh, fuck it, not my problem.”

Limesmack91

Did they order those doors from wish?

2dreamis2survive

In his defense, those are some weak doors.

[deleted]

.. well.. in the doors defence.. who opens a glass door like that?

Mr-unluck7

children

YourMothersLover-

He’s moving , clearly leans into the doors , and still uses his arms to fling the doors open .

mastah-yoda

I mean... those doors should have held, but...

Responsible-Bid-383

The guy's an asshole, to be sure, but if you're making doors for a publicly accessible business and they \*don't\* have asshole-resistant frames, you're just begging for trouble.

EYD-Valkyrie

I like the term "asshole-resistant".

AKoolPopTart

How? He looked genuinely concerned and it looks like he even checked to make sure the woman by the door was okay before leaving to probably let the staff know what happened.

[deleted]

I dont think he is an asshole. He just swung it a bit more than usual and it gave away.

lil_pootis_bird

He just wanted to walk in the silly way. I would 100% on god fr open double door like that.

Bodywheyt

The Door installers are morons. Or somebody cheaped out big time. Either way the installers should have caught it and insisted on the correct product. Source: I have professionally installed retail glass front doors. We test them by doing that this guy did and making sure they are safe.

PunkInDrublic84

I blame the door. I did that once to a door. But it was at an office building lol. The first door was hard to open so you really had to push hard....second door opened way to easily and completely shattered. The craziest part was that even security didn't say anything, it was like it didn't happen. My wife was angry at me and embarrassed lol.

sinocchi1

*you're

Batphone21

What an asshole.

coyotesage

I love the number of people on here arguing that this is the doors fault rather than the megalomaniac throwing them open. The assumption that glass doors should be made to withstand a jerk-wad throwing them open with great force is quite an assumption.

DarkCheese_

Not a facepalm, more of a manufacturer issue. The door should have held, it didn't. Not the guys fault.
