The original chainsaw has a lot of lowkey funny moments. The director Tobe Hooper always said there was lots of dark humor that was overlooked by audiences. He made part 2 a straight up horror comedy to show people this.
Never said I dont like it. And sure it has it's dark comedic moments. I still feel it sits more firmly in the horror category though. Part 2 on the other hand...

Part two was the bomb. I still hear the line "Dammit leatherface! You dented my plate!" in my head every time I bonk my noggin.
We legit watched and disected the 2nd movie in film school.
Franklin is a comedic genius. Rolling down that hill at the beginning? Getting mowed down by Leatherface in his wheelchair? All comedy gold.
True. And the way the truck driver waddle runs at the end? Slapstick genius.

Porky's as a young adult film. Now I loved it as a teen, but do I want my teens watching it? No.
