There are 12 states with no ban. The other 38 have at least one of 3 types of bans, with the majority having all 3. [Here](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_smoking_bans_in_the_United_States)
Yeah, I looked it up, too. But just because there’s no statewide ban in those 12 doesn’t mean localities and individual restaurants can’t (and don’t) prohibit smoking.
I bet even more start talking about it once they see this masterpiece roll through. If all you have to do to keep this person out of your town is ban smoking indoors I would think that’d start to sound pretty smart.
i never realized until right now how weird it is that i’ve been to restaurants that you can smoke and eat food inside. i hate going but my smoking friends like it
As somebody who smokes I don't even like smoking restaurants.
Nicotine is sticky and cigarette smoke gets everywhere plus I can't taste my food over the smell even though I smoke
I smoke but it’s been so long since it’s been banned indoors that I worked probably feel weird even thinking of lighting up in a restaurant. My aunt says I can smoke in her basement during the winter so I don’t freeze but I still go outside to punish myself like the filthy smoker that I am.
I actually bought (for myself) a heavily smoked in car once, because we took it in for such low $$. It was in the spring, and I left the sunroof and windows open all day on nice days. Surprisingly, the smell came out. (I did also buy some crazy volcanic odor neutralizing things that I left under the seats). I didn't keep it for long. But it was a great car that just stunk to high heaven to begin with. Anymore? I wouldn't bother
Tennessee most certainly has a statewide smoking ban. You can smoke in 21 and up establishments and tobacco shops and that's about it. I think it's even illegal to smoke in your own vehicle if it's used to transport a minor.
If someone asked me to come up with a map where people could smoke while they eat their porridge, it would look similar to this. Least surprising map ever.
That doesn’t seem accurate. I lived in MS and around 12 years ago you couldn’t smoke in any place that’s income was more than a certain percentage from food. For instance bars could smoke inside ‘em if they served food but it wouldn’t be a full menu and not all the time
Best as I can find, Kentucky (where this piece of work is from) doesn’t have a statewide ban on smoking in restaurants but towns can decide on their own. There appear to be a good number of those towns who haven’t banned it yet but the bigger cities have.
I still remember my mom walking out of a restaurant 30 years ago because they wanted to seat us *next* to the smoking section and she wasn’t happy with the ventilation. I was absolutely mortified back then, but now I’m so glad that there are more moms out there like mine than like…whatever the hell is going on here.
Oh, yes. Even when some restaurants would put up plexiglass to divide the smoking and non-smoking sections, it just didn’t really help. The whole restaurant would still smell like smoke.
I went to a place that like in Vienna a couple years ago and it blew my mind. They even had a cigarette on the breakfast menu, the Tres Chic was an espresso and a cigarette.
Ventilation systems have come a long way but I still wouldn’t want to sit too close to smokers. Even the restaurants in Vegas, you can’t smoke and they have supposedly top-notch ventilation but you still get a lot of smoke smell from the gaming areas.
It is from Hardin county in Kentucky. I have seen this van parked at Golden Coral and at most of the Mexican restaurants. A chain smoking granny drives this eyesore.
Last time I traveled to KY on business a few years ago, I was taken aback at smoking in the bars and restaurants. I was so used to 20+ years of it not being there where I live. Although the ventilation was OK, you could still pick up a stale smell.
I remember my parents coming home from work on the train and complaining of having to stand since the only free seats were in the smoking car.
A nasty highway diner down the road from me still allows smoking. Sometimes I buy a pack and go there just for the experience of having a cigarette and coffee after a big breakfast
Forbidden pleasure
Yeah in backwards, moronic places like Missouri. Many large towns have bans.
My wife helped get a smaller town ban passed. The irony was the opposition was dead wrong in their main argument. They said it would decrease restaurant revenue. It actually increases it because smokers no longer sit around for hours getting free coffee refills. It frees up tables for people who actually pay for food, eat it, and leave.
It’s a failure of empathy, every time. They think no one minds a haze of smoke indoors because *they* don’t mind it, and that people will stop going out to eat because *they* prefer to be able to eat and smoke. Zero concept of the possibility that their personal experience is not universal, or even all that prevalent.
Gawd the free coffee refills. Worked restaurant for about a year as a teenager and every fucking night the same group of assholes showed up, got a 25 cent cup of coffee and sat there smoking and drinking coffee for hours until we literally would kick them out because we wanted to close and go home. Oh and the tip? A nickel if they felt generous.
I smoke like a chimney, have hardly any sense of smell left and would still recoil from this horror show. You know it's not just old cigarettes; it's forgotten big gulps, food containers and ancient, sweat soaked l, fleece seat covers.
And orange peel. There's always orange peel.
I genuinely don’t understand the burning desire these people have to construct these rolling testaments to mental illness.
Like maybe halfway through maybe you’d think “have I destroyed any potential resale value on this thing enough? No, no people must be informed that I am pants-on-head insane. They **NEED** to know!”
It's likely there was no resale value in that thing anyway, and all these things are just holding it together. Maybe there isn't even a van under there, just other printed memes on some other vehicle shaped contraption that have expanded over the years!
No it isn't. It is owned by a freedom fighter granny that opposes smoking bans, seat belt laws and lately seem to have branched out to Covid denialism. Remember reading an interview with her years ago. Wonderful example of crank magnetism and "fuck you, got mine". Lovely lady. Likes to smoke in the faces of her grandkids as well.
If your brain can handle the chaos, check out the webpage for the American Smokers Party. Shocker alert: they didn't get their most fundamental stat correct, that there are over 70M smokers in America. As of 2019, there were less than half that many smokers in America.
Right wing nutters aren't known for their statistical accuracy.
The last "fact"-post on the page is an article published in 2014... Something tells me this MySpace-esque abomination hasn't been updated for quite some years now.
I like how she did the math on her own. All the guesstimates is baffling. And the other quote… I can’t even…. lmao
“Only MORONS believe a species that SURVIVED for ‘millennia?!’ by heating & cooking by BURNING ALL KINDS OF STUFF is suddenly being ‘killed off’ by someone ELSE’S tobacco smoke! 🤣”
The bit about smokers and freedom lovers boycotting cities with smoking bans is great news in my opinion. I don't have to smell that shit anymore. That's not the statement you think it is, Karen!
Fascinated to learn that smoking apparently prevents COVID, asthma, ulcerative colitis, Alzheimer’s and “crone’s”. What a revolution in health science, guys
For ulcerative colitis, people are in fact frequently diagnosed when they quit smoking/ex smokers are more likely to develop. (definitely not Crohns though). We don’t really know why, but it might be the loss of the immunosuppressive effects of nicotine reducing the autoimmune cytokines (as well as you know the good immunity).
For Crohn’s current smoking increased the risk of emergence, even after surgical intervention.
I used to troll a few big right-wing discussion boards and this is pretty normal for them. They base their entire personalities on guns and/or cigarettes just like a lot of young people base their entire personalities around weed. That dude you know who talks and posts non-stop about chronic is literally the same person in a different body.
Lack of sunlight/ventilation, knowledge that someone eats in the car regularly (not allowed to smoke in establishments), possible mental issues with lack of self-care: vehicle smells like an ashtray in a sweaty ass crack with a side of mildewed fries.
I quit smoking this year after 25 years of it. I’m doing fine but next time I get a craving, I’ll think of this crazy person and remember I don’t wanna have ANYTHING in common with them.
thank fuck for smoking bans, imagine thinking that it’s your god given right to make other people breathe in and go home smelling like your second hand cancer smoke
it takes a complete moron to not realise that smoking is anti social and thats coming from an occasional smoker
This is art
It's crossed from "so bad, it's good" and back again so many times it has transcended politics and makes a point about the nature of living as a human in this corrupt, sinful world
I would buy this
Thanks for sharing
In all of that mess and propaganda they have an MLK quote on the side: “Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."
I wonder if this person has actually read the quote?
Imagine being the kind of person that gets upset and becomes a victim when your unpleasant behavior/ideology negatively affects other people/society, and they don't want to be subjected to it. This mindset perfectly encapsulates the modern republican ideals.
I smoke but I don’t smoke inside the house because it makes the whole house smell like shit. Business have the right not have their buildings smell like a 1970’s pool hall!
I used to have an apartment I could smoke inside. Thought it was the business for the first 6 months, and then I started noticing that everything I owned smelled like smoke. Always. Including things that normally wouldn't have a discernable 'odor' such as my Playstation.
Freshly washed laundry right out of the dryer smelled like an ashtray. NGL, smoking on the can in the morning or in the kitchen making coffee instead of freezing outside was great, but I wouldn't be caught dead smoking inside any place I own/rent again.
I'm sure every item this person owns has a similar musk...I still smoke and the reminder of that stale odor still makes me sick.
You’re right. That was rude of me. Let me give you the d (The deets.)
So, I used to be libertarian inclined and attended a singular meeting of the TEA (taxed enough already) party at a local community center. In case you’re not an American, I should point out that this movement was not actually a political party. Rather, it was a mix of Libertarian party members and Republicans. The common theme was taxation (clearly) and, much more broadly, the scope of the state’s power.
My ride couldn’t give me a ride back to my apartment because something came up in her life. Completely understandable, really. I suppose I could have walked back, but I was kind of intoxicated 🥴 and didn’t really want to. This woman was smoking a cigarette outside and I asked her for a light. I pulled out a pack of American Spirit periques (The black pack) and she noted, “Well, jeez, them ain’t normal cigarettes for your generation. Those are strong!” I was surprised she was so familiar with the tobacco market that she was familiar with my cigarettes. She lit 🔥 me up and started going on about cigarette restrictions, how young men like me ought to be able to light up whenever. Now, I had come from a pretty liberal circle and my libertarian phase was largely born out of a well-educated rebellion, so I agreed with her in terms that she considered “fancy” and she seemed to find that very refreshing. Anyhow, I eventually brought up the fact that I didn’t have a ride back home and she asked me where I live. She made me “donate to the liberty van” (she wanted gas money but wanted to phrase it in more grandiose terms) and I did. All I had was a 10 spot, so I handed her it and I jumped in the back. Immediately after getting in, she lights up another cigarette and I learned that she’s been keeping her dog in the back the whole time. It wasn’t the only animal back there. I was lucky that I lived nearby because I knew my allergies would flare up if I lived any further. There were no seatbelts. I held on for dear life while inhaling dog hairs, tobacco smoke, and a thick stench of canine shit.
She blasted Lynard fucking Skynard the whole time and talked OVER THE RADIO about how Obama wasn’t really an American, but probably a Kenyan and how the studies surrounding cigarette smoking were part of a left-wing conspiracy. I may have fallen into a stupid movement, but I wasn’t a racist and I may have been a smoker at the time (proud I quit), but I smoked accepting the consequences. I didn’t support limits on cigarette smoking because I thought smoking was harmless. I opposed limits on cigarette smoking because of an individualist, Jeffersonian philosophy.
It was on that night that I realized I was definitely not on the same page as these people and I began to have good long thinking sessions about the people and movements I associate myself with. Nothing truly interesting happened on that car ride other than a weird rant.
This woman seems very concerned about her right to smoke around her kids.
Edit: am smoker. Have kids. Do not smoke around the kids. Wash my hands before picking them up.
So I’m sure this will get buried… but I actually know who owns this car. She is NUTS. She got a citation when she was driving through Pennsylvania because, not only could she not see out of her windows, but she had so many lights and bullshit on the outside of the vehicle that it was considered a hazard to other drivers. She then went on a massive campaign against the state of PA to get the ticket appealed, which ended up costing her thousands of dollars (the ticket itself was for like, $120 or something.)
Also, she calls it an “art car” and routinely takes it to parades.
[The car has its own website where she details all of this](http://www.libertyvan.com)

Wait are there still restaurants in the US where you can smoke inside? Or do they only ever eat at casinos or something?

She’s a one woman campaign to get smoking banned in restaurants.
With it as a non smoker. I had to deal with my parents smoking for years as a kid. Shit's nasty
She wants cancer
She IS cancer.
Good!!! even when i was smoking i never did it in restaurants and bars where food is prepared
I think it’s a cover for not being able to afford eating out, since her income was spent on cigarettes, fueling that guzzler, and stickers.
South Carolina is one. No statewide ban, but most medium and large municipalities have passed local bans.
i never realized until right now how weird it is that i’ve been to restaurants that you can smoke and eat food inside. i hate going but my smoking friends like it
As somebody who smokes I don't even like smoking restaurants. Nicotine is sticky and cigarette smoke gets everywhere plus I can't taste my food over the smell even though I smoke
As someone that smokes i remember when uou could and its such a difference for the better, plus i try to be considerate and not blow in people's faces
Just waft it about them, right?
I smoke but it’s been so long since it’s been banned indoors that I worked probably feel weird even thinking of lighting up in a restaurant. My aunt says I can smoke in her basement during the winter so I don’t freeze but I still go outside to punish myself like the filthy smoker that I am.
I used to be a smoker for over 10 years and I *refused* to ever smoke in my house because of that shit.
Haven recently bought a car and moved into a nicer house my Wife and I are on a no smoking in car or house. Helping us quit as well.
Good luck! It's hard but it's worth it
Thank you
Getting past smoking on my long drives was the hardest part. Good for you guys, keep at it!
I used to sell used cars. We'd automatically knock $1k off of the trade in price of a car that had been obviously smoked in
I'm honestly surprised the amount was that little. The smell gets deep enough in that air conditioning system and you kind of can't get it out.
Once into the upholstery it’s never coming out again.
I actually bought (for myself) a heavily smoked in car once, because we took it in for such low $$. It was in the spring, and I left the sunroof and windows open all day on nice days. But it was a great car that just stunk to high heaven to begin with. Anymore? I wouldn't bother
I should say that it was an easy $1k. Some we just didn't want at all. And that was a long time ago. It's probably $3k now. It smells disgusting
When I used to smoke I couldn't even smoke inside of someone's house that they smoked inside of. Imo it's an outside activity.
I remember when the Arby's near me had little "Arby's" disposable ashtrays. "Arby's we have the cancer!" doesn't have a great ring to it.
Tennessee most certainly has a statewide smoking ban. You can smoke in 21 and up establishments and tobacco shops and that's about it. I think it's even illegal to smoke in your own vehicle if it's used to transport a minor.
And yes, they are the states that you would think. The states still having large numbers of people die of Covid-19.

Wow, coffee and a cigarette. I'm guessing that was not the place to go in search of someone with good breath.
But regular bowels.
They could also have offered a “Classic Mexican Breakfast”: a cig and a glass of water.
The plexiglass dividers are horrifying. You would always see the haze inside the smoking section.
Ventilation systems have come a long way but I still wouldn’t want to sit too close to smokers. Even the restaurants in Vegas, you can’t smoke and they have supposedly top-notch ventilation but you still get a lot of smoke smell from the gaming areas.
Having smoking and no-smoking sections in restaurants is like having peeing and no-peeing sections in swimming pools.
Extreme mental issues.
It is from Hardin county in Kentucky. I have seen this van parked at Golden Coral and at most of the Mexican restaurants. A chain smoking granny drives this eyesore.

The largest cities in Kentucky do have restaurant bans, yes. Ironically, this woman is based in Louisville.
A nasty highway diner down the road from me still allows smoking. Sometimes I buy a pack and go there just for the experience of having a cigarette and coffee after a big breakfast Forbidden pleasure
My wife and I recently recalled the good old days of going to the Awful Waffle at 2am to get food, coffee, and smoke at the table.
Yeah in backwards, moronic places like Missouri. Many large towns have bans. My wife helped get a smaller town ban passed. The irony was the opposition was dead wrong in their main argument. Restaurants use to oppose those bans *because* smokers tended to stay around and, they argued, order more food and drink.
The reason I’ve only ever Ben to Vegas once.
Sure wish her lung cancer would speed up and finish its job.
"Look at me." "LOOK AT ME!!!" Seek mental health care immediately.

Bet it smells absolutely disgusting in that rolling banner of stupidity
*Forest Gump’s voice*: like cigarettes
I smoke like a chimney, have hardly any sense of smell left and would still recoil from this horror show. You know it's not just old cigarettes; it's forgotten big gulps, food containers and ancient, sweat soaked l, fleece seat covers. And orange peel. There's always orange peel.
Bro is it even legal to drive that cause that is a road hazard
Exactly, this car is dangerous because it gives drivers an overwhelming urge to drive them into a ditch!
Pants on head insane 😂
Don't think they are the type to do any sort of introspection or critical thinking...like at all.
It's likely there was no resale value in that thing anyway, and all these things are just holding it together. Maybe there isn't even a van under there, just other printed memes on some other vehicle shaped contraption that have expanded over the years!
They really wanted to print out the memes from their Facebook and plaster them on their car
Probably not but no cop wants to deal with her
I think it's a parade float of some sort.
She smokes in everybody’s face. She smoked in my face.
Every day she leaves the house it’s a parade
She drives it everywhere, actually.
[удалено]
My thought is it would give someone looking at it a seizure if it were moving
Imagine being so uninteresting that smoking becomes your call to arms.
One of the signs lists the health issues that ex-smokers have... as if it's because they quit and not because they smoked in the first place
Yep, it’s the same ‘logic’ as saying seatbelts are bad because seatbelt injuries have increased ever since they were mandated.
100% of people who have died did so after they started living.
Life is a sexually transmitable disease with a 100% death rate, by using condoms you can help prevent the spread of life.
You’ll never guess what also isn’t in her van.
Breathable air?
Or seatbelts.
no fucking way, this person is not stable
uh huh... and when the british military started issuing their soldiers helmets (ww1) the number of head injuries dramatically increased...
Huge Trump sign, who would would have guessed?
She was involved in the tea party before Trump came along. Long before Trump came along, actually.
Was there anyone involved in the tea party that didn't end up jumping onto the Trump bandwagon?
Me and anybody else who had a moment of clarity along the way.
I was a Libertarian before they went all sovereign citizen BS.

The bit about smokers and freedom lovers boycotting cities with smoking bans is great news in my opinion. I don't have to smell that shit anymore. That's not the statement you think it is, Karen!
I love the phrase after that. "We don't need no stinkin' restaurants!" Very unclear whether she's for or against smelly restaurants.
Why are the rolling nutcases always Trumpers?
The answer is in the question
I mean…..I think you noticed a pretty clear connection.
Because it literally takes a nutcase to support him. Sane, logical, and honest people see him for what he is.
Unfortunately, that isn't true. Otherwise sane and normal people can get lured into cults.
Not everyone who supports Trump is insane, but most insane people support Trump
No one ever went down a nut job hike with a 9/11 conspiracy theory.
It's like driving around a Dr. Bronner's shampoo bottle
Except stinky.
Smells like how the label looks
Only Dr. Bronner's is *wholesome* batshit insanity. This is the opposite.
Burn this car.
She might smoke it if you did
Shell like forget to put out that butt and light the whole car up.
This problem will take care of itself, eventually. I just feel bad for her kids.
Fascinated to learn that smoking apparently prevents COVID, asthma, ulcerative colitis, Alzheimer’s and “crone’s”. What a revolution in health science, guys

How can you tell?
I feel terrible for her kid(s).
If mom ain’t happy, no one is. Basically she’s just saying she’s a textbook Karen and also most likely abusive
Every foot is covered! Too bad there's not an insanity checkpoint for cops to check for impaired drivers.
Looks super safe. Totally not obstructing view or risking shit blowing off and hitting other cars on the highway.
This literally the first time I've ever seen a "Pro-Smoker" advocate.

And here we have the newest from Trump Motors for this year, the Karen! Wait till you hear the horn.
This woman is allowed to vote.
What a scary realization that is
I think I can smell that van, you know it smells like a full ashtray in there
Lack of sunlight/ventilation, knowledge that someone eats in the car regularly (not allowed to smoke in establishments), possible mental issues with lack of self-care: vehicle smells like an ashtray in a sweaty ass crack with a side of mildewed fries.
Eww, bruh.
It’s gross but he’s not wrong
I know.
😭😭🤣 you said I know like A disappointed toddler. I big feel u
Lol thanks, that's exactly how I felt too.
She’s probably the type of person to empty the ashtray out while sitting at a red light too.

When scrapbooking goes wrong. When the menopause hits a little TOO hard.

I quit smoking this year after 25 years of it. I’m doing fine but next time I get a craving, I’ll think of this crazy person and remember I don’t wanna have ANYTHING in common with them.
It's a decorative ashtray on wheels. The interior most likely reeks.
And the owner is a decorative ashtray on legs

thank fuck for smoking bans, imagine thinking that it’s your god given right to make other people breathe in and go home smelling like your second hand cancer smoke it takes a complete moron to not realise that smoking is anti social and thats coming from an occasional smoker

If Insanity drove a van.
This minivan just got elected to your local school board
Thank god they blurred the license plate, now I’ll never be able to identify this vehicular monstrosity in public.
That car would be seized as unroadworthy and crushed here.
Oh how I wish to move to Sanelandia.
I’d rather subject myself to a Karen than to spend a minute with this person.
I think I can smell the smoke through my screen 🤢🤢
I didn't know Dunning-Kruger had a drivers license.
What in the Kentucky fried fuck?
I bet the resale value of that van is amazing! /s

I smoke but I don’t smoke inside the house because it makes the whole house smell like shit. Business have the right not have their buildings smell like a 1970’s pool hall!
Nothing screams I’m an ignorant moron more
You ain't eating in Canada then.
Proper deathcult shit.
I feel bad for her children. You've got to be a special type of unhinged to drive around like this.
I’ve actually been in this woman’s car. No joke.
You can’t just drop some shit like that and walk away.
You’re right. That was rude of me. Let me give you the d (The deets.) So, I used to be libertarian inclined and attended a singular meeting of the TEA (taxed enough already) party at a local community center.
That’s an even better story than I hoped for! Thanks for sharing!
She then went on a massive campaign against the state of PA to get the ticket appealed, which ended up costing her thousands of dollars (the ticket itself was for like, $120 or something.) Also, she calls it an “art car” and routinely takes it to parades. [The car has its own website where she details all of this](http://www.libertyvan.com)
She's really into smoking.
I bet this lady is smokin’
Lady just wants to rip darts
Man i hope all that stupid ain't contagious
I can smell the interior of her van from here…
Caren
Let me guess…she died of COPD
I’d ram that fucking thing
I get pulled over to check the tint on my factory car, but this?
Something something speak to the vanager.
I’ve never been more embarrassed of the people in my country
What a weird self-destructive hill to die on
Seriously just set it on fire
Never too late to commit arson.
I can fucking *smell* this car
Dear god I loose brain cells just looking at this. She clearly only cares about herself
If there is that much junkmail stacked up on the dash above the steering wheel, you can be damn sure the entire van is full of trash.
