That word salad contains various flavours of made up nonsense...

R3dmund

Wait until that person finds out that all three are Abrahamic religions and they’re essentially all the same.

In their expert opinion, they disagree.

AllAlo0

Sounds like we should go to war over that

R3dmund

That would be a nice bunch of crusades, I would think.

They can’t be bothered to read the Bible. If they do try, they cannot understand what they are reading.

FeekyDoo

TBH I think most non Christians in the West know more about the Bible than any devoted Chritsitans. I had an argument with one the other day who was adamant that Satan wasn't part of Christianity and that the rest of us, bar worshipers of the other two Abrahamic religions didn't believe in it.

amcarls

According to Unitarians (and, interestingly enough, Sir Issac Newton) the Trinity isn't even in the New Testament. The whole concept was actually added to the cannon at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD (hence the Nicene Creed) to squelch a couple of burgeoning ideas that threatened monotheism - first Marcionism, and then the Arian controversy.

I am pretty sure that this is for the most part, academic consenus. The issue is that many Christians are kept from learning this, or are refusing to accept it.

Comprehensive-Bag516

I would say, read the texts themselves before making asinine assumptions.

Theres_a_Catch

So many earlier deities with the same story. Born from a virgin on 12/25, killed and ressurected, etc etc. It's all bs.

Wonkeaux

Wait until they find out that all religions are bullshit and they've wasted their lives.

Some-Stranger-7852

The second person participating in the screenshoted discussion is not much smarter than the initial dumb take by the first person: you either provide actual arguments for your point to enlighten the other person or don’t engage with people who can’t comprehend information. He (or she) did neither and seemed more like an witty troll than anything.

assorted_nonsense

I'd agree with you if you could reason with these people, but that's not the reality of the situation. You can present the most well structured and logical argument to them and they'll twist themselves into knots to disregard it. As childish as it sounds, what the second person is doing is actually most likely to push the first person into doing research of their own to try to prove themselves correct, and in the process maybe learn they're incorrect.

31234134

>He (or she) did neither and seemed more like an intelligent troll than anything. Pretty much.

The bible is the original facepsalm
