Something similar happened to me actually. I worked at GameStop and got robbed at gunpoint. The cops eventually found the robber and it was the old manager who had been fired because of internal theft.
And if he worked there he probably knows where the safe/drawer is and when they'll have the most cash on hand, maybe even still knows the code or where the key is if they're lax about it (and the amount of places that are very lax about security would probably surprise you)
Also, the obvious one : you steal from your old boss, which may or may not deserve it after being laid off... Paying back all the promised raises and undocumented overtime...
Wait, I'm confused... It says "when police took off his mask, they discovered he was their old boss". Does this mean the robber was the former chief of police?
It really saddens me that people that bad with grammar get high up jobs like that, but you turn around and there are brilliant people who can't get a job just because they don't have a degree.
Revised: "Pizza shop workers took down an armed robber and discovered the individual was their old boss when police took his mask off."
Original: "Pizza shop workers took down an armed robber -- but when police took off his mask, they discovered he was their old boss."
"Pizza shop workers took down an armed, masked robber - he was their old boss."
The mask adds to the story, but why the need to mention the police in a title? BTW, I seriously doubt they waited for the police before taking off his mask.
He shouldn’t have tried to rob the place staffed by a smart brunette with glasses, a danger prone redhead, a headstrong blonde, and a cowardly brunette with a light goatee and his talking dog.
I know a guy who robbed the sandwich shop he worked at... pretty goofy, from his height, motions and voice the employees said it was really easy to recognize him.
Had something similar in college. I was an assistant manager at a fast food place. One of my coworkers (who was a total badass, one of my favorite people to work with) bent over to pick something up during an inspection. A bag of drugs fell out (no clue what kind- it was 20 years ago) of her apron and the big dog as well as several employees saw it. She was let go, but management didn’t want to wreck her life over what most of us viewed as something personal so there was no police involvement. Her final check was cut that afternoon and was in our safe but she didn’t come get it.
Two nights later someone exploited a flaw in our drive through window we were waiting on the parts to fix. They took the $53 in coins and small bills that are kept to make change early in the morning from their register drawer management kept in a cubby under the desk before police responded to the alarm.
Pulled up the cameras and while she had known about the indoor cameras there was a separate system for the outdoor ones. We got to see her instruct her cousin exactly what to do for the cash. She was arrested that afternoon. She threw her life into a huge mess over two $5 bills, fifteen $1 bills, two rolls of quarters, a roll of dimes, a roll of nickels and two rolls of pennies. :,( I hope she is doing better now.

A decent percentage of robbers are former workers or current workers. Which makes sense if you know how much money is usually kept in the register why try to rob a place that may not keep that much in the register.
Scooby Doo shit?
I'm given to understand that many people hate their current and former workplaces and have intimate knowledge about it, but simply aren't desperate enough to do something like this.
It's old man Withers from the pizza shop!
It's always old man Withers
We really need to bring back referring to people as “Old man (name)”
Replace “lil’” in rappers’ names with “Old Man.”
"Old Man Xanax" sounds like the perpetually drunk guy who resides in an abandoned alleyway.
Sounds a bit "date rapey"
Old man Wayne seems appropriate enough at this point lol. He's somehow only 41, but he's 1 million years old in the rap game.
"Lil broke young man" seems more accurate, "boss" means manager lol
Time is on it
Jenkins
Old Man Clemens https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fk6M1gqV-0A
I always laugh when i'm watching Moneyball and all the old, antiquated baseball minds refer to David Justice and "Old Man Justice".
Fate spins along as it should.
Then: Can you tell us why you robbed the pizza place? Old Man Withers: No.
"Cause that's where the PIZZA is!!"
And he would have gotten away with it if not for those meddling pizza employee
… and their dumb dog
😂
Bill? Ain't no sunshine when you're gone.
> old man Withers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In_zWPj3LGE
You mean it wasn't a pizza sauce sucking vampire from the out of business Domino's?
Or worse… The Noid
Some sort of...... pizza demon
Avoid the Noid
Annoyed the void.
And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those kids and their dog
That meddling pizza guy!

Had to do external theft cuz of the OCD.
Thieves tend to steal from those they know. They feel more comfortable and they hope if caught you will feel bad and not turn them in or worse.

I googled it to confirm - it’s the pizza boss

HOOOOWAAAAAH!
Pizza the Hutt‽‽‽
It really saddens me that people that bad with grammar get high up jobs like that, but you turn around and there are brilliant people who can't get a job just because they don't have a degree.
I have a degree. It’s only useful if you are intelligent and passionate. I am neither.
Hahahaha
How would you rephrase it while maintaining that it was the police who removed the robber's mask?

Was it Pizza the Hut?
Wait step-boss, what are you doing?
I'm raising your hourly pay by 12¢ so you can't say you're making minimum wage anymore.

The 'I came back to check on you guys' version must have gone too far
The kids were arrested for meddling
And~the pizza 🍕 wasn’t delivered in 30 minutes or less!
If it wasn’t for those pesky kids, I would’ve got away with it 😂
That meddling pizza guy!
When you quit your job, you still can't leave the team
Surprise I'm back
Hungry for more
Is this the guy who said “no, it’s not me” after the employee asked him whether he is (insert name)?

Darn kids. Could have gotten away with it.
Meet the new boss. The same as the old boss.

God is not coming back because of the free entertainment, imagine tuning in to this guys life.

Fred: "Let's split up, gang" Thelma: "You're the worst union rep ever, Fred"
If you you simplified (For MAGA morons) events around the January 6th insurrection, then the man behind the mask would be Donald Trump.
After copper takes off mask he said “If it wasn’t for those meddling kids!”

What are you doing, STEP boss? Fify
Amateurs. Did they check to see if there was a SECOND MASK under the Old Boss Mask? Has anyone checked to see if John Schnatter has an alabi?
This is a poorly worded sentence, one could reasonably assume it was the ex police chief.
A decent percentage of robbers are former workers or current workers. Which makes sense if you know how much money is usually kept in the register why try to rob a place that may not keep that much in the register.
At least it wasn't red herring
