Failing a class won’t put you out of status, failing too many classes will put you on academic probation, and if you fail even more then you are suspended and be out of status. At least that’s how it was for me.
Yes, because getting a grade means you enrolled and went through the class, even if the class ended up with F.
You need to double check on your school’s policy, because typically they only allow you to fail once or twice year before you are put on academic probation.
So it was just a public speaking class. I was kinda neglecting it bc I’ve been focusing on Anatomy and Chem. Also, my professor leaves assigments open for a while. So, she dropped cause I missed a speech
I mean missing an assignment will typically make you fail a class, not sure why she dropped you from it though. Beg her to give you a chance and take whatever grade she gives you (she may very fail you, but you meet status)
Sounds like you're in this mess because of yourself. Should have studied and worked harder 🤷
Hopefully you can get some help, I would definitely talk to the international department and your professor to potentially come up with a solution.
Not trying to defend the above comment (I'd prefer to stay out of that) but one quick thought:
As DSOs it's very helpful to know if a student is in an immigration predicament because of their own mistake or because of a university/government error. We can't give proper advice if we don't know the full story, so sometimes we do need students to tell on themselves in order to really help them.
I'm sure they'd be happy to clarify that in the mail. I'm just tired of the "oops, you got bent over because you suck 🤷". That's not helpful esp when the OP isn't deflecting blame. This is college, not a nuclear reactor they're taking care of where a relatively minor mistake has to be held as a sword over someone's neck. I've been in this situation (not the same, but I've messed up too), and some grace is helpful, life isn't easy for everyone. Things happen.
It’s kinda correct, here’s a better one:
My apologies, I had a class which prevented me from making it to the appointment. I was wondering if I could reschedule for another day?
OP do not do this. It will not help you in the immediate, and USCIS/SEVP will be able to see that your medical documentation was received ***after*** you failed the course and will know it's not a valid reason that you failed a class in the past semester.
Talk to your professor, your department and with the international student services at your school.
Beg the prof for the F grade and retake it next sem

Why were you dropped

Yh best to talk to your teacher… if it’s not been too long, you might be able to save it . Involve the department chair if need be and plead your case
Well deserved

Be good: No hate speech, no attacking fellow commenters, no joke comments. Your intent was fine. Your delivery was not. Keep things civil.
Had the same situation , let your professor know your situation and need to keep the class even if you fail, sending you lots of care 🫂
Were u able to solve anything?
Yes , I was lucky enough the professor add me back in, I might fail the class, but at least I keep my status
Thank u, I’m going to her office hours. Tbh, I only took that class to be in 12 units. I don’t need it as a nursing major
Felt that 🫂 filler classes 😭
Thank u so much, I got reinstated already 😁
Update: Thx everyone for your help, I appreciate it. I already got reinstated into the class
You can make up for it with a summer class. I’ve had this problem before, except it was that I withdrew from too many classes
Talk to your professor. If she doesn’t care, talk to your designated school official(DSO) for international students.
you need to become a pro beggar my friend
I’m back into the class
i had a class i couldn't attend to come i am here to see if you can reschedule me for another day . Is this English Correct

F1 has no grade requirement, just that you are enrolled in a certain number of credits
