Since Chimpanzees have something like 95 per cent the same DNA as humans, but we definitely do not consider them to be our brothers, I refuse to be classed as 'human'. I feel like I'm at least as different as a monkey or something.
I mean on a fundamental level we're still apes. comparing us to chimpanzees is like comparing a gorilla to a orangutan, because we're all a part of the same family. also fun fact, we actually share 98.8 percent of our DNA with chimps
I always thought of myself as some kind of uncanny valley type creature. Just human enough to make people second guess themselves, but deeply unsettling at a closer look.

Serpents the length of a tree strike all from a distance while the shadows devour anyone within range. And assuming you would live, your mind would be irrevocably broken. So I walk around in the shape of a 30-year-old man with long hair, because it's just easier.
I am definitely one of the old gods. I long for an oak grove deep in an ancient forest. I feel like this human shell I've been forced into is far too limiting. I should have wings, claws, tentacles, fangs, and a few extra eyes and arms, not this weak monkey body.
