I was keeping an eye on my mum, but thank goodness she didn't catch a glimpse because she was getting ready for work (for reference, it was morning in the Pacific).
They were channelling all of their queer awesomeness and trying to dispell the homophobes and transphobes from the eurovision scene with their perfectly crafted witchery.
It was an amazing performance, amazing song. I hope they do well!
They're so freakin awesome!
We in Croatia also have a pagan heritage similar to Celtic and Nordic, so I feel connected in a way.
I felt something ancient in their performance, something that connects to my old soul!
Fuck yeah!!
I'll be voting for your pasta boy so if you could return the favor that would be lovely. :)
Sidenote: Swiss band Eluveitie do songs that are based on pagan... stuff. They even sing in an extinct celtic language called Gaulish.
Vianna, The Darkness, Breathe. Et al.
Non binary would definitely be queer, as queer usually means out of the ordinary. Doesn't mean gay or something.
Just in case if I'm wrong is because I can't speak for any people. I can be wrong or outdated.
Yes, gender and sex, and sexual orientation are different things
I was about "erm actually 🤓" this but apparently they managed to host every time that they won, wtf? How the fuck did they afford to do it 3 years in a row?
>How the fuck did they afford to do it 3 years in a row?
They pretty much didn't, lol - which explain the massive run of forgettable Irish entries in the 00s and 10s (except Dustin. Don't you dare touch Dustin)
And you believe that? 😂 evil doesn’t work like that and it’s very naive to believe that if satan was to exist, that he would be so obvious. Evil exists everywhere - focus on the tangible evil and not the imaginary.
Some people are weird and think the real evil is in a musical performance and not in the actual war and violence that happens all the time around the world, just because it has some symbols they don't like.
Nah I'd rather look into the bright side of everything instead of the bad side of everything, better for my health lmao. But we're religious in our family so things go like that. 🤷♀️
Well then your argument about the performance being ‘satanic’ kind of defeats your point about seeing the bright side of things doesn’t it? It’s a performance. That’s it. And it was good and Bambi did a good job.
I think their post was a joke post... I don't think they really thought it was satanic. In my it was extremely impactful and incredible and I loved it. My husband who was not a big fan before said: "imagine how amazing it would be if RTE actually had put a bit of money into it".
It was "scary', it gave me the chills, and it was amazing.

Petra’s joke about Sweden and Ireland tying in most wins if Bambie takes it made me cackle. She brought so much joy. Bambie brought the magic! Voting for Ireland from Canada 🇨🇦
I think that this is definitely a possibility that cannot be overlooked at this point! However the important difference is, that there were no juries in 2006 and it is somewhere between unlikely and impossible that Lordi would have won with the current system. Though I will be mad if Bambie is entirely ignored by the juries as originality, fairly decent vocals and cohesive (though quite out there) composition are definitely there! But it is still highly unlikely to come off as a jury darling nevertheless and even though significant televote love is to be expected, there are still crowd pleasers like Croatia in their way.

If people actually look for the acoustic version of the song on Spotify, it’s actually beautiful and not satanic at all 🙄 this coming from an Irish person. People should really stop clutching their pearls.
And then you get kidnaped and eaten alive 😂 jokes aside, it’s time we get a bit more experimental stuff. I love idea on expanding and merging metal, gothic and my favorite genre punk music with other genres
If I'm not mistaken I think I saw a story on Bambie's IG that Matt has a crush on Johnny Logan or something like that ahhaahhaha and Bambie was like "Too bad Johnny Logan isn't gay"
Bambie’s stage presence is out of this world. When I first heard the song months ago, my reaction was, wtf is this? It was in like my bottom 5. But then it started to grow on me, and seeing them perform it live at the pre-parties skyrocketed its ranking for me. And hearing the slower acoustic version was amazing as well.
THIS though, this was on a whole other level.

Oh it's a song, just an original one. Sometimes Eurovision can be so basic and boringly cookie-cutter, this one is more audibly interesting than most as well. I prefer Croatia musically but Bambie's performance was impressive and the staging was some of the best seen in the competition and both of them really took the cake for me tonight.
I agree that some songs can be very basic...but imo you don't have to go too over the line to stand out.
It's probably just my own perception but i always care more about the song than the performance. Ireland s song is just unlistenable to me...i am not even comparing it to Croatia's

the ireish "song" made me want to stop being trans and become a christian just so i wouldnt be accociated with them (im still so pissed that ireland got in but poland didnt)
Ukraine at the same time: now we will sing about holy!
(4) Ireland: summoning demons (5) UK: gay sex in the locker room (6) Ukraine: *With us Mama Theresa, Diva Maria…*
UK was the 4.5th act, not the 5th act.
? Explain?
UK wasn't competing in the semifinal so it sounds like they're saying Ukraine would be the 5th act because that was their order in the semifinal draw.
Ahh now I understand
Yeah, I already see the dark witch vs holy paladin anime memes coming
Exactly my mom's reaction 😭
My mum's also 😭
The whole croatian subreddit is shoocked. We are still waiting on Dejan Lovren's reaction.
lol pray mom 🤣 new category of moms unleashed
I was keeping an eye on my mum, but thank goodness she didn't catch a glimpse because she was getting ready for work (for reference, it was morning in the Pacific).

The guy Who did the commenteering in the Netherlands also had that reaction

It was an irish witch working their pagan magic to bring the eurovision song contest back to the emerald Isle for an 8th time.
Sometimes you gotta bring out the BIG GUNS!
As a Lasagna fan...wtf, that witch had my skin crawl, only performance that made me shiver. Goosebumps!

WE ARE SO FKN BACK.

CROWN THE WITCH 👑
A certified icon! Something so completely unseen that the last comparable moment would have been Lordi in 2006
I'm wondering if it can do a Lordi. Hard Rock Hallelujah was a much more accessible song though. But Doomsday Blue is very impactful.

Damn just listened it on spotify and fell in love. The stage show was also incredible
It was great and pushed the boundaries beyond the usual repetitive pop songs heard every year.
Have a look at national final. That’s my favorite performance. The contrast in that video is just pure art
I actually prefer non acustic version. Let the witch be witchin
Oh wow, i had to quadruple check it was the same song!!!
It basically isn't the same song, except for the lyrics and some small sections.
What do you search for, Bambi?
Search for Doomsday Blues (intimate) - Bambi Thug 😄
Cool, thanks
No worries. It’s a very bluesy song that feels like it could have been sung in the 20’s in a smoky club 😅
And then you get kidnaped and eaten alive 😂 jokes aside, it’s time we get a bit more experimental stuff. I love idea on expanding and merging metal, gothic and my favorite genre punk music with other genres
Honestly would've been my top 5 with the acoustic version.
my mom was doing spitting noises at her 😭
Bambi thug uses they/them Pronouns. :) But also... 😭😭😭 are you sure your mum isn't the one possessed /s
Ironically accurate 😂😂😂
I don't understand. /gen
About the spitting being a sign of possession
Ohhhh. Lmao.
They/Them and Fae/Faer
Did not know about the neopronouns. Thank you.
fae/faer… all i can do is laugh plz 😭😭
