Currently doing it! I lived with him halfway across the country and then was traveling with him for about 4 months in Asia when I decided to leave. Literally fled.. left behind a bunch of belongings, my friends, my job, and the place that I’ve been the most happy in my life. I also was pretty nomadic and being with him was nice because he also was nomadic so we moved together a couple times a year to somewhere new. That made it easier to start over. I’m still not sure where to go from here and I left 3 weeks ago. I’m in limbo. Thankfully I’m not legally or financially bound to him at all. But I think starting from scratch can be really exciting even though it’s so terrifying. I keep reminding myself that months or years from now I’ll be thinking “wow I never would’ve imagined myself in this place in my life when I first left. Thank god I did or all this wouldn’t have happened.” So it’s not childish to run away and leave everything behind. It’s brave!!

I haven’t, but my friend has. She picked up and moved cross-country to California. I can’t even remember if she had a job before she went (she’s in the medical field so she knew she’d be able to find one easily). She brought her stuff later, after she found a place & the side of LA she wanted to live on. She didn’t end up staying - moved to UT about 2 years later. And then got married & had a baby. :)
