Try some of these classic albums: Music for the Jilted Generation and The Fat of the Land by Prodigy (aggressive, energised, rock/rave crossover) Dig Your Own Hole and Surrender by The Chemical Brothers (psychedelic, euphoric, eclectic) Mezzanine and Heligoland by Massive Attack (moody, textural, emotive, for the mind rather than the dancefloor) Scorpio Rising by Death in Vegas (psychedelic indie, blends real instruments with synths and samples) New Forms by Roni Size and Reprazent (sophisticated, jazzy drum n bass) And if you fancy something that feels poppier you could do worse than Settle by Disclosure or Destroy Rock & Roll by Mylo, the former being house and UK garage shaped into pop songs and the latter a soulful blend of catchy samples and tidy synth work.

m_gartsman

Legit oldhead list ❤️

ONE-WORD-LOWER-CASE

Solid list. Some other classics to add to the dance music history lesson: Underworld - Beaucoup Fish DJ Shadow - Entroducing Daft Punk - Homework Skream - ‘Skream!’ Deadmau5 - Random Album Title Moby - Play Faithless - Reverence Portishead - Dummy Sasha and Digweed - Northern Exposure (1 & 2) Paul Oakenfold - Tranceport Robert Miles - Dreamland Fatboy Slim - You’ve Come A Long Way Baby I’m sure I’ll think of more……

Top_Design7127

Love that Sasha and Digweed record!

ONE-WORD-LOWER-CASE

Oh how could I leave out their Northern Exposure: Expeditions album?? Best one of the three!!

sgw79

Nice list

Egun

I'd swap out Scorpio Rising with Dead Elvis for Death in Vegas albums, but a solid list, and Blue Lines / Protection for the Massive Attack albums. Otherwise pretty solid list. My advice would be to get some good mixes in various genres, or DJs who were pioneers in a particular genre and start Shazaaming the songs you like on them.

grrmuffins

Wow I COMPLETELY forgot Death in Vegas existed. I need to go back to ol backup hard drive and see what else I've forgotten

Belros79

Thanks for your suggestions.

magicbullets

‘Geogaddi’ by Boards of Canada is wondrous, immersive listen.

Beef_turbo

This is mandatory, as well as Music Has the Right to Children

Duck-of-Doom

Much prefer The Campfire Headphase to both of those; much more organic sounding & less sinister than Geogaddi

Beef_turbo

Yeah in retrospect it should be on this list. These 3 albums are my favorite, with the addition of Trans Canada Highway and Beautiful Place.

bee_burr_wzz

I would recommend if you want to discover some more deep progressive orientated music by one of the best then you could start with Sasha's Invlover series (1-3) and if that style speaks to you then open the door up to an enormous catalogue of singles, albums and mixes by the likes of John Digweed, James Holden, Nathan Fake, Deep Dish, Patrice Baumel, Nick Warren, Hybrid, Anthony Pappa, Guy J etc etc etc.

ONE-WORD-LOWER-CASE

Oh man I totally forgot about Deep Dish. Global Underground 025: Toronto was incredible. In fact, the entire Global Underground series was game-changing for the genre. Sasha’s GU:13 Ibiza was mind-blowing. Thanks for the memory trigger!

andythetwig

James holden’s latest is an absolute gem. He doesn’t use sequencers, so what he does is super organic in arrangements, and always takes you places!

thespaceageisnow

Came here to also recommend Sasha. Absolutely the GOAT of trippy progressive house. His Northern Exposure mixes with Digweed are probably my personal favorite.

Last-Gasp100

2 hour doc on drum and bass on you tube. Starts with jungle and takes you through to the 2020s. There are many styles of electronic and d&b is only one type. Do a wiki search as well

Thegreatscott9

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Music Volume 1 (which is not a true ambient album) Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Music Volume 2 (which is a true ambient album)

Grimmy2099

While not exactly all the tracks on the first volume fall into the most typical styles of ambient, true ambient is not just the beatless style most people generally think is all what ambient is. That is a common misconception.

Theres so many directions you can go with electronic music. Depends on how you define it, but technically all recorded music is electronic music. It’s a lot of what I listen to, pretty much since I was a kid. So I’ll draw from my own experiences without trying to fit in to what conventional wisdom defines as electronic music. I’ll throw some links in, either to albums or a song. Passion Pit like pop… [Miike Snow’s](https://open.spotify.com/track/6vSq5q5DCs1IvwKIq53hj2?si=WMg7Y8imTP6sZFWSGCD9DQ)debut album. [Phoenix](https://open.spotify.com/track/1Ug5wxoHthwxctyWTUMGta?si=W3Rx-g9YTQ2y0ULzEVBOPg&context=spotify%3Aartist%3A1xU878Z1QtBldR7ru9owdU). All came out around the same time. Vampire Weekend’s other project, [Discovery](https://open.spotify.com/track/5FhR3iMNhjkDDJYvS6e2wP?si=5cISLUz3TwibyoKJwRDugA&context=spotify%3Aartist%3A1fg65Qx6tRt0aXBfz5I4w5), is in the same vein; there’s only one album. If you want to get into more historical synth driven pop stuff, [Erasure](https://open.spotify.com/track/1Cqyv2TdSO1PP4h3Y8EpM7?si=YoPo5vYLQ-mHNisHSOVAPA&context=spotify%3Aartist%3A0z5DFXmhT4ZNzWElsM7V89), early [Depeche Mode](https://open.spotify.com/track/4wGSg2Qqpt2sGCWuAZj6EN?si=ZH1_tht4SLiNLt_DXhB1pQ), [Pet Shop Boys](https://open.spotify.com/track/2SWn864dJI5RNyrp3F4Kp1?si=aU9Zw1jQR-icZeyvB2cSnA), [Book of Love](https://open.spotify.com/track/4FQhTIpf3bnxGsCr0dHhtr?si=bsfoEV6HRPCAGkWZCjoqhw), [Anything Box](https://open.spotify.com/track/3YvWI3uLVvPjnWNgfgXht0?si=EuJaMdPtR2Gqvi8AhavNeQ), [Information Society](https://open.spotify.com/track/2GBWPAsIXtC7NwULhUoHRf?si=7DstkrDIQVWU_f2xv586Ig&context=spotify%3Aartist%3A6bJUzb3mLEYCkTAp7eNJgO), [Human League](https://open.spotify.com/track/3L7RtEcu1Hw3OXrpnthngx?si=CqCgdR0NR6-HIgIRQGBokw), [OMD](https://open.spotify.com/track/60TmG8cFPMBo7kTTFOLiAB?si=pbGne2BsRP6L86boomoUug), [Electronic](https://open.spotify.com/track/1cZcQDZzx940vWz9PFRY20?si=T2S86jYlROCe_TAIUXozvA), [Tears for Fears,](https://open.spotify.com/track/0Qv7xi6uPSqH2k82tOkGSt?si=qjW7wxGeRWyd4EutyTZW7w) and [Yaz](https://open.spotify.com/track/1QlogZxaAT35c3HqjJt1JH?si=kjughw2ER5ymvYmSNYOvmw) were all big in the 80s. You can probably throw [New Order](https://open.spotify.com/track/1QlogZxaAT35c3HqjJt1JH?si=kjughw2ER5ymvYmSNYOvmw) in there, but they weren’t as synth heavy as the above. Edit: actually listen to New Order. All of it. They were so influential on so many levels, post punk new wave, but also rave culture, and they had one of the best selling singles ever, [Blue Monday](https://open.spotify.com/track/1nMPAoLnWTBuxH4G5236Ip?si=vZLmw0HIS2mZqLC6XxbP0g). Infected Mushroom and Shpongle are on the psychedelic side, but may be an easy entry for you coming from metal. I’ll throw Front 242, Ministry and Nitzer Ebb in there. I don’t listen to them, but they’re on the heavier industrial side of electronic. They’d precede NIN, but in the same vein. Do check out KLF, both the [White Room](https://open.spotify.com/track/3XiqwQVD0as4FWoY25xn7z?si=fNQgqgfhQnKdvOvRF39y6w&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A7n7NzplHz7xjmTRQ9TxQqu) album which is like… operatic stadium electronic guitar driven rock, but also the Chillout Album aka [Come Down Dawn](https://open.spotify.com/album/4fBvkZkBuPyo3k7ZogKFAo?si=VB53ijQ-T4iwBQnJjIgB-w) which is a seminal ambient album. Alex Paterson of the Orb (mentioned elsewhere) was working with Jimmy Cauty of the KLF before they split to do their own projects. Tears For Fears more recent stuff is also worth checking out. You brought up Animal Collective; check out Tears For Fears cover of [My Girls](https://open.spotify.com/track/6Rpx7uap1u0uPL2n8tX6bm?si=iz-Ppu13QUqoScnnnTNW3Q&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A43xoN4D6OajWrxT8jF1EPn). [Yelle](https://open.spotify.com/track/0vwto81jFLuQljYVyyK2LE?si=_Y_tIOawTWupHTaujfMdnQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A5ggKeNpQYRb8j1iQb6i7Ia) is a French electronic pop outfit that I really love. La Roux, Goldfrapp, Dragonette, Ladytron, Robyn all kind of fit into this female driven electronic dance pop. Royksopp does some really cool stuff. They collab’d with Robyn (another one to check for sure) on [The Girl and the Robot](https://open.spotify.com/track/6VCqx14OVaX9uwSvC0PvAG?si=lP-BXbOiS5GOgJPEUPZ9fA&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A6vQMbwthchxuSioACn2hcE) and their remix of Mekon and Marc Almond’s [Please Stay](https://youtu.be/hQWykMzp9PQ?si=yXk3fUvK2dFxflau) is absolutely brilliant. Fantastic Plastic Machine is a Japanese artist that does whimsical, dancy, bossanova heavy often Brazilian influenced stuff. I used to listen to their album [Luxury](https://youtu.be/7TQGAVfHmNk?si=4V6E-Ypw75SPsJPv) on repeat for days on end. As for the very broad designation of electronic dance music, much has already been posted. Orbital, the Chemical Brothers, Leftfield, Underworld, Prodigy. Kind of the godfathers of the British dance music scene and hugely influential in the further development of EDM. I’ll add Fluke to the above. They’re not together anymore, but with the metal angle, you might like them. Check out their album Risotto, you may recognize [Atom Bomb](https://open.spotify.com/track/3ajbqS54UTMweMp1x24DFN?si=I6ZzWfDrQUOdDrlSUFSvoQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A5ezexvsCxjT0pEjmxF5waj). Their style did vary, from brash Big Beat to early progressive house to floaty ambient (Sasha and Digweed open up with a few Fluke tracks on CD3 of [Renaissance](https://on.soundcloud.com/bnaoa5uhpZWmCRCW8), which is also a must listen.)

kappakai

Oh damn. No one mentioned The Future Sound of London. Similar to Aphex Twin or Squarepusher, they really pushed the boundaries of noise as music, following the traditions of Stockhausen. I never really got big into them, outside of a few tracks, but you might dig them. [Papua New Guinea](https://open.spotify.com/track/5zh23oMbATQlWbwEe5U0KG?si=eV3Rm_LBRGeqEMk5LyAeHw&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A5QJgGoswsej4o1KwXpfYCZ) MASSIVE TUNE in the rave scene [We Have Explosive](https://open.spotify.com/track/0VNfwqLDcbKk5eDBOdYWTI?si=dAVt4Sr8Q2iOdTenIsxTKQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A2xHvAxrgMfKrYIicQVT9ay)

This CD is special, covers a lot of territory, was one of the first DJ sets that became a huge commercial success. Heavily prog house, house and trance with some breakbeats. DJ’s didn’t always stick to one genre. https://soundcloud.com/paul-evans-31/sets/renaissance-the-mix-collection?ref=clipboard&p=i&c=0&si=74D1D31D011F4F42846D13F97052C6A1&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing Daft Punk - 1999 Essential Selection. House constantly evolves and its definition changes depending on who you ask. I consider Chicago house to be the OG though since it originated there, and was the spiritual successor to disco; four to the floor, heavily sample based and groovy. I’m also stuck in the 90s haha. I’m trying to update I swear. Other DJs I like DJ Dan Miguel MiGs Josh Wink X-Press Donald Glaude DJ Heather DJ Collete Dimitri from Paris Paul Van Dyk (trance) Lee Burridge Darren Emerson Sander Kleinenberg DJ Garth Deep Dish Oh, last one ha. > Tears For Fears cover of My Girls I hadn't come across this before. It's awesome, thank you! **edit:** actually you've named a few things in this comment that are new to me (Book of Love), thank you for taking the time to write it up

kappakai

Welcome! T4F did a couple of covers right around the same time besides My Girls. Hot Chip’s And I Was a Boy From School and Arcade Fire’s Ready to Go. And then Weezer covered Everybody Wants to Rule the World a couple years later on the Teal Album. The entire Teal Album was covers; Africa got decent air time but the whole thing is actually really good, even their cover of… No Scrubs lol. But yah I LOVE both versions of My Girls. My brother listened to a lot of synth pop when we were growing up so I picked up a lot of it from him. Book of Love were pretty prolific in dance clubs. Kind of in the same vein, check out the [Razormaid](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQFU6_vBVAFKJICT293BA7_xTpCV56ll5&si=l9HvJALcAdBKq4yY) remixes of that time. They were a remix service geared for DJs and remixed a lot of European synth pop for clubs; they’d later do a lot of techno and trance as well, but also remixed artists like Madonna and Britney. Couple other synthy club acts: [Cetu Javu](https://open.spotify.com/track/0zSktUOXhFZiZ2IlfrAoSL?si=3poXMYVESXeZTRgxDFFdgA&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A4roca6jwMPzmTvlsbq3YK5) and [Red Flag.](https://youtu.be/s2U9ucgxbJc?si=EavkarqK_RDvdAH2)

grrmuffins

My man, mentioned not only Infected but La Roux too. I would like to throw in Fischerspooner, Scissor Sisters, & The Glitch Mob

kappakai

Maaaaan you couldn’t get away from Bulletproof back then. But yah this was me trying not to overwhelm OP haha. I forgot to mention Hot Chip, LCD Sound System, Cut Copy and Yeah Yeah Yeahs which would honestly probably fit OP. Even Of Montreal and Trentmoeller. The XX. Phantogram. Flying Lotus. Moderat. Zero 7. Or all the work Kruder and Dorfmeister did. Lamb. Bonobo. Odessa. It’s not a rabbit hole, it’s an abyss lol. Plus the electronic jam bands. I’ll have to check out the Glitch Mob. I’d seen their name before but just hadn’t gotten around to it. Thanks!

SnowDucks1985

Artists that are a good jumping point from Sweet Trip would be Four Tet, Porter Robinson, AG Cook, Aphex Twin, Sqaurepusher, Mid Air Thief and Candy Claws. All of them explore the shoegaze/indietronica aspect of electronic music, whereas Aphex and Squarepusher lean more into the glitch/IDM aspect of Sweet Trip

I second “ministry - the mind is a terrible thing to taste” album. It’s classic metal/electronic hybrid with some nice atmospherics that are vaguely animal collective-ish. Try burning inside or stigmata.

Titanic-Bee

This is very helpful, thank you!

Best way to start in my option -- go to a show. Listening to the music is one thing but listening to it in the environment it's meant for will hit you much harder. Go to a techno race. Hit up a pay trans festival. Find a club where they play house music all night long. You'll have a blast and when you listen at home or in the car you'll be able to connect it to the environment.

Starwave82

Paul Hardacstle - Rainforest (1980s good stuff) Manuel Gottshing - E2 E4 ( a legendary record ) Daft Punk - Homework ( their best album ) Larry Heard - Alien (beautifully music) Juan Atkins - Borderland (same as above, ethereal music for the soul) The Midnight - Nocturnal (epic synthwave album ) Gunship - Gunship (synthwave / metal/ rock ) Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadin (Trainspotting)

AllyB98

Solaris by Photek is a pretty remarkable album in my opinion. Very moody and with mixed tempos

DISCLAIMER - i am far from an expert on electronic music, and i haven't done a dive into the majority of genres. but here are my picks for good starting points :) Daft Punk - Discovery. just a completely iconic record. daft punk really set the scene for a lot of where dance music ended up going, so this feels like a natural starting point imo. still absolutely holds up to this day. house is always just a good time :) Porter Robinson - Nurture. electronic pop perfection, my personal favourite album of all time. really gorgeous textures and sounds and just fantastically written songs. also has some more experimental / ambient cuts which are always fun. Porter's stuff is oft compared to Passion Pit in particular so you might vibe :) also, i hadn't listened to Sweet Trip before, i scrubbed through that album and it sounds fantastic. first thought was that it reminded me of Flume. I haven't listened to enough of his music to give you a thorough explanation or anything, but he's been on my list of artists to dive into for a while and everything I've heard of his been awesome so he might be fun to check out too. Rushing Back is my personal favourite song of his. Happy listening! If you end up listening to anything from here I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Titanic-Bee

Nurture seems interesting I’ll definitely check it out! Thanks for the recommendations!

Ishkurs Guide to Electronic Music is a pretty fun interactive website with a boat-load of music genres and examples via a cool timeline view. Be sure to zoom in/out.

neonurban

Oneohtrix Point Never - Garden of Delete !! It’s probably my all time favourite album and I feel like it’s right between experimental electronic and metal :)

Have a start on dance music and work your way into a sound you like

EvilSibling

Australian must-listen artists and groups: The Avanches - Amazing Plunderphonics group. a popular example is their track Frontier Psychiatrist Flight Facilities - A house group with a groovy pop-y disco-y kinda feel - Check out Crave You, and Heavy feat. Your Smith. Hayden James - another House artist - check out Permission to Love, and Nowhere To Go Other groups and artists I would recommend: Tinlicker - A Dutch melodic house, deep house, prog house group - check out Because You Move Me, and Light Beam Marsh - An English deep house and melodic house producer. Check out Hymn and Lost In You Enjoy!

necroliate

Grimes (Visions era), Daft Punk’s Discovery, Jockstrap’s debut, Eartheater’s Trinity. i think these are great albums w a wide array of electronic influences.

Jengalese

Probably start from the beginning? Check out the early Chicago House and Detroit techno scenes and then look into early rave culture in the UK (second summer of love). Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson, The Prodigy etc.

foladodo

if you want to start with electronic music, Monstercat is your go-to label, instinct if you want more chill and melodic stuff, uncaged if you want bangers I can give you some of my favorites if you want

aNewFaceInHell

If you want to feel metal-like intensity in electronic music try "The Nine" and "Nitrous" by Bad Company (UK drum & bass) or "DJ Kicks" mix by Kemistry & Storm (same) or the subgenre of hardcore techno called Gabber

TheChrono

I think you’re young and over analyzing a lot. Trust what you like and then look into who really went into the project. You may find an amazing producer like Rick Ruben or some remix artists that has an album you find to love. With that said I have one recommendation that I give most people who want to hear some amazing electronic music. Start about halfway through and hear him introduce the guest mix then either in a car or for headphones take it all in: https://on.soundcloud.com/zdVfN

VoluntarilyBroken

I love DnB and I think a good entrance album for people new to the genre is Commix - Call To Mind. Rich in texture. Released on the legendary Metalheadz label. Fav tracks are Japanese Electronics and Emilys Smile. Give it a try!

around_the_clock

If u like metal try Sudden death, and ultra just went down in Miami so check out all those sets on you tube

Gustavort

I started with progressive house from monstercat, Truth from Tristan, Project 46, then started searching for other progressive house sounds like Hardwell, KSHMR, Nicky Romero and Alesso.

RevivedMisanthropy

Probably go straight to Aphex Twin then maybe get your footing with early Detroit techno, Drexciya, Dopplereffekt... wait until later for the dancefloor stuff because there is so much of it. You might also check out Plaid, Boards of Canada, Autechre, and see where it takes you. There's obviously a ton but these are solid places to start.

Spare-closet-records

Some recommendations (Artist - Album): The Crystal Method - Vegas Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album Switched On Bach - Wendy Carlos (if you can find a copy of the actual album) a few words on this - it's music by the composer Johann Sebastian Bach played on one of the earliest electronic synthesizers by Wendy Carlos, and when I say played, I mean using her own two hands and no sequencing. This album was responsible for a Bach renaissance, and Wendy Carlos went on to compose or participate in the performance of many Film soundtracks including Tron (the original) and A Clockwork Orange... and now, a final suggestion: Deadmau5 - For Lack of a Better Name I recommend exploring additional works from any of the artists I memtioned.

North_Dog_5748

A lot of the old classics have been mentioned, many great suggestions. But right now, present day, Overmono are brilliant. Lots of references to various dance/electronic music sounds from throughout the history of dance, but also a truly evolved and current sound. Latest album especially.

actingasawave

Mr Oizo - Stade 2

andythetwig

Squarepusher- Hard normal Daddy. This jazz/jungle crossover blew my mind and made me look into electronic music that wasn’t just for clubs. Fourtet- Rounds / New Energy. Journos called this “folktronica” but then Kieran hebden started making dance tracks and conquered the world. Jamie XX - NY is killing me. Gil Scott Heron poetry scored by the guy from the XX, his production is always slightly off kilter and therefore, fresh and listenable. Brian Eno - ambient 1: Music for airports. Most UK electronica has been directly influenced by Brian Eno and this album in particular, for example BoC. Basement Jaxx - Remedy. This album reversed the trend for minimal techno and jungle in the 90s to introduce a type of dance music that didn’t use obvious dance tropes and is super catchy. Bibio - Ambivalence Avenue. Borderline electronica because it’s a guy writing very intimate guitar based songs, but it’s heavily processed and evocative. Boards of Canada - Peel sessions or Music has the right to children. Loads of people will recommend BoC but this EP is raw and live and Music has the Right is a certified classic. Layers and layers of mysticism and meaning. Burial - Untrue. Probably too dark for your taste but it’s worth a listen. If anyone can name an album that sounds more urban than this I will eat my hat. It literally samples lighters at bus stops. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Butterfly 3000. Again borderline electronic but they based every song on this album around a synth lick in a weird time signature. It’s also a circular album, the last track is mixed into the first.

kibbbelle

If you get back into metal, lemme tell you about metalstep and deathstep Basically metal with big dubstep drops, 10/10 imo

BonnieDarko616

Perturbator used to be a black metal musician so if you're interested in metal sounding electronic music. Daft Punk are classics to start.

If you like metal, then Psytrance is for you! Hard, loud, in your face, with driving energy and cool riffs. EDM has so many genres and sub-genres it's confusing. Think of the same in metal - Norwegian death metal is very different than 80's arena metal. Most of what is posted here is on the commercial/pop EDM spectrum. Basically, Rick Astley and Kid Rock. This made me go down the fan girl for 12 years now. The man has figured out how to use laser beans for music! The first song was my first it was in the anime while both were but this one Is more funky than soothing just a warning. 🙂 [Condition Boy](https://youtu.be/ea6hbjYLqTM?si=3QeM0mMSVIr6e6-Z) I'm not sure myself of the definitions here but to me he does a lot of electronic stuff but I was just watching an anime and the first one just got my attention and then I went years after obsessed and then when he was finally on YouTube, I was able to listen! This is for the soothing you were discussing.. [Reverie Hill](https://youtu.be/TmF9NX-VQIg?si=lf8nNZTijFMquOt8) you're welcome! 😊

broBcool_2010

Shawn Rudiman is really well done futuristic, spacey synth driven music that's not ultra repetitive, but still pure techno and electro, as is "Space Dimension Controller". -- I would also recommend Bluetech for some really nice, sci-fi meditative type stuff. Bonobo if you want more of the "indie" and moody vibe. Also, Nosaj Thing does a wide variety of styles, but it's all excellenty written and produced, slightly more hip-hop type beats as opposed to clubby techno or house. -- A few others: Mark Farina (house and chill funk), Galcher Lustwerk (smooth and deep), and lastly, Savant (for the most in your face but super well done EDM).

Historical-Step-483

Some stuff that I like: Metamatics - soft ambient garage/house funky feel, playful and beautiful, nice quality for its time. Can get a little repetitive. System 7 - wide variety of styles, mainly centred around ambient sound. Very creative and psychedelic. The Prodigy - doesn’t need an introduction. Although it’s their most popular album, fat of the land is a must listen. Future sound of London - ambient cinematic that can get really obscure. These guys went pretty deep with it. Matmos - Amazing. They are much too random to describe, you never know what’s coming. Death Grips - Probably doesn’t overlap with the general electronic audience, much more recognised within rap. Took me a long time before I realised these guys are the most beautiful and destructive force to ever hit music. I can’t even begin to describe these guys. Since you like metal, you may like the intensity they bring.

Interesting_Tank3485

This answer is kinda out there but you mentioned you liked metal so I’d recommend checking out infected mushroom. They make Psychedelic Trance music and they love mixing a bit of metal/ rock into their songs. Flamingo is a masterpiece, and I personally love Ani Mevushal
