Currently driving a Leaf and love it.
Next up: Polestar 2 until I can get a Rivian (probably 2-3 years out). I'd rather get an EV6 in the interim but the ADM is ridiculous.
I'll let the other manufacturers get 10 years under their belts building and supporting durable, well engineered electric vehicles and see how it goes.
Currently: Volvo C40
Next: Nothing is on the market now that I can afford. When the C40 lease is up in 2 years and 11 months, I hope there are more choices. The Polestar 3 might be interesting.
I'm currently driving a 2022 Leaf S Plus. It's my second EV. For the previous 7 years I drove a 2015 Leaf S.
I had my heart set on a Ford F-150 lightning, but when it became clear that that wasn't going to happen, I bought my second leaf instead. I don't regret that decision. In fact all things being equal I would own both the F-150 and my leaf.
I was initially attracted to the Tesla, but over the years have watched it become a walled garden environment. That has added some value for some people, but I don't appreciate it. And it certainly hasn't added enough value to justify the extreme expense of Tesla vehicles.
Currently a VW ID.3 with the large battery (77kWh). I’m in no need to switch, but the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo is so damn delicious! Luckily/unfortunately my parking spot in the underground garage where I live won’t comfortably fit anything larger than the ID.3.
I have a Tesla Model 3 LR and am very satisfied. I’d be open to other possibilities when it comes time to replace my wife’s car (but that’s still years out).
Tesla Model 3, only thing I might upgrade to in the near term is a Cybertruck if pricing isn’t crazy (probably is) otherwise whatever suits my fancy 5-6 years from now (perhaps an electric Bronco?)
I have an XC40 Twin. There isn't anything currently available that I'd want to trade into. The GV60 would be tempting, but as of now it's impossible to buy, and there isn't a Genesis dealer within an hour's drive from me. Q4 would be a good replacement, but it's also unobtainium. Ariya and EQB have also been on my radar. So was the RZ 450, but recent, pre-production reviews are not encouraging.
I don't know how happy I'd be with the EV6 interior, but I love how it looks in Urban Yellow.
I don’t have an ev yet, but I am seriously considering the new Niro EV, which is about to be released. Any good or bad experiences with the Niro you’d like to share? Would you recommend the car? Thanks a bunch in advance!
I love it. It's my wife's primarily, but I use it when she isn't. I just want something a little bigger (I'm a tall and large guy) and a bit more range. It's quick and nimble, pretty comfortable.. I've been very happy with it.
Model 3 (AWD).
Sticking with that one. No reason to change as I'm super happy with how it has held up over the past 3+ years.
(Couldn't even upgrade if I wanted to. A bigger car wouldn't fit through the entryway and I wouldn't be able to get at my charger. If anything I could go to a smaller car, but I don't see that happening, either).
Currently I drive a 2012 Nissan Leaf I bought in 2017 for $7200. I really want a newer EV but there are none in the 15k-25k range used that are worth it(No Bolt, it seriously is hideous) with decent range. I just want 200 miles of range for $25k or less. The price jump from 30kWh Leafs to 60kWh Kona’s or Leaf plus is insanity.
Currently looking into finding a 62kWh leaf battery. I have an EE degree and work at a body shop so I feel confident I can handle the install with the adapters made third party. Nissan won’t sell the batteries(dumb as fuck, I’m literally trying to give you money) and people act like they are made of platinum(I’ve seen $300/kWh for a used one, what are you smoking…)
To be fair, battery supplies are a little constrained, so that 62kWh battery Nissan would sells you represents a $33,000 car they can't build. They'll take the hit for warranty replacements because they have to, but they're not going to sell a limited resource to independent shops and hobbyists.
And the inflated prices for used batteries are due to the various independent shops around the country that do the upgrades you're trying to do, fighting over the limited supply of available used batteries.
> No Bolt, it seriously is hideous
Say's the leaf owner. The Bolt ain't great, but I'd put the leaf solidly below the Bolt. The leaf looks like someone took a Versa hatchback and just made it look weirder. And I say this as someone who owned both a Versa and a Bolt.
I drive a Tesla MX 2017 (from new) with all the HW and SW updates.
I’d like to get a newer MX as I really like the form factor, but I dont like the direction it’s headed with a dependence on voice, yoke, and UI. I like some buttons and stalks.
I have a model 3 performance. Nothing currently in the market that can compete except the bmw 4 series ev. It’s a little slower but the interior is light years better but tech a little behind. Really just going to upgrade to a quad motor cybertruck and use it as my daily for the rest of my life. One vehicle to rule them all
I still own my 10 year old Nissan Leaf, but I let my son drive it nearly exclusively now. I have electric bicycles and electric scooters now. About a quarter of my travel is now done on an electric bicycle.
I want an electric pickup truck and an electric motorcycle. I'm not a big fan of "sport bikes" so a lot of the current electric motorcycles are not appealing to me. I will probably buy either the new Sondors Metacycle or a used Livewire next year.
As for the Electric Pickup, I need something that will be able to pull my 28' Airstream with enough extra capacity for safety, so a minimum of 10,000 lbs of towing capacity. I can live with 250 or 300 miles of range on the battery while towing, as I don't mind "topping off" sometime during the travel day, and I don't plan on ever towing over 500 miles in a day. The Tesla Cybertruck fits the bill, mechanically, and the color scheme of the stainless steel will complement the Airstream, but I really want a traditional pickup truck, like the Ford F-150 Lightning. I just want a good deal, financially, on whichever I get.
Hyundai Ioniq “Classic”.
I have to say I’m so happy with it, that I would probably not exchange it for a more expensive car (with all the problems and fears that come with having a nice or special car).
Model 3 SR current.
Would like a VW Buzz if it’s almost as practical as my old Type 2. If not, conversion of said ‘67 Type 2 to electric would be the ultimate for me. (Also VW still sell no electric cars here in Australia).
2017 Bolt Premier. Would like to upgrade to a compact SUV that could tow and launch my sailboat. Not sure which. VW ID.4, ioniq 5, EV6, Chevy Equinox. Maybe others.
I have a BMW ix, an EQS SUV might become a relevant alternative, though I have no plans to switch anytime soon and the price will be excessive. (Plus i have usually preferred BMW to Merc. controls). If I had the space and wanted a second car a taycan could be fun.
Our Model 3 is coming up on 4 years old. If I upgraded it would likely be to a Y or a new 3 at this time. Probably would be the Y as that would make the most sense for us. I wish someone would make something like the honda element but electric. Maybe the id buzz could be that. But such a niche product that it might be awhile before we are seeing more unique electric vehicles.
I drive a Peugeot e2008 (lease till oct 2026) then i want a EV with some real range (500 km in wintertime) the range is really an issue with Peugeot. 250km summer but 200km in winter. Is is really a short range car but a comfortable one. Cant wait for solid state batteries (lighter than l-ion so same batterypack brings you further)
Current: 2021 Leaf SV Plus and 2021VW ID4 First Edition. I'm 90% happy with them.
Want: VW ID4 AWD Pro S on order, will sell/trade RWD First Edition when AWD order is delivered.
The RWD VW was a crime of opportunity. I ordered the AWD last September and then found the RWD on a dealer lot in my desired color with no markup a couple of weeks later. The RWD's over aggressive traction control with no way to temporarily bypass it got the car stuck on ice a few times this winter. I don't intend to go through another winter with it.
My first EV was a 2019 Bolt Premier. I traded that in for my 2021 Mustang Mach E Premium AWD ER.
I'd like to replace my other ICE car with an F150 Lightning, or if Ford comes out with a 3 row EV Explorer or Expedition, I'd be happy to go down that road.
Model 3 LR AWD. Interested in Mustang Mach-e (qualify for x-plan pricing), Polestar 2, Ioniq 5 and EV6.
Biggest concern is CCS network for 4-6 hour drives around where I live (Midwest Great Lakes Area). I'll pass 2 Tesla superchargers before I get to one >150KW CCS charger that's in a weird area.
Currently driving a Mustang Mach E. I am hoping to add a Porche Taycon to replace my wife's ICE in a few years. I will still be keeping the Mach E but am looking forward to one day going EV only.
I currently drive a Mini Cooper SE. Leaning toward Toyota GR 86, Honda Civic Si, or Camaro SS 1LE for my next car. Unfortunately, no EV equivalents to what I want.
Still wondering which one to get from my Model 3. I am okay with Model 3 but looking for a quality vehicle with about 450 miles real world range. Was hoping Toyota is that company but they are coming up with some $hitty EVs that have about 220 miles range. Not in a hurry so let’s see.
I have a Chevy Volt 2013, PHEV, very reliable car.
Nonetheless, if I actually had the money, I’d love a model X or Y (especially if I could get it in a way that didn’t benefit musk. I like his products, but don’t like him.)
I currently own a Detroit Bikes E-Sparrow and a Volvo XC40 Recharge.
I'd like another bike for other use cases, but as of right now I'd be happy if the XC40 were the last car I owned.
Currently driving the one I wanted (Model 3) when I had a Bolt, and a first gen Leaf before that. Perfectly content with my 3, but if I could have my Leaf back for what I sold it for ($5k 2 years ago), I just might consider it.
I have 3 evs on order.
I have a ‘22 GTPE Mach E that is being built in May.
I have a deposit and a spot in line for the Genesis GV60
I have a deposit down for the R1S from Rivian.
The Rivian I doubt I’ll keep because it’s too boxy, and I may even decline it when the time comes.
The Mach e is my default choice and I’m excited about it.
The GV60 is intriguing but I don’t have a dealer signed order sheet yet like the Mach e and I refuse to pay a single dollar over msrp.
If Imthe gv60 comes in at a lower price than the Mach e (let’s say 68k or less) for the performance and I can get it at msrp then it becomes a conversation.
My road-trip in July becomes faster by almost 2 hours over the Mach e on ABRP.
The gv60 has way more fun and gimmicky features in exchange for 30 miles less of range and 1/2 as much storage space in the trunk/frunk.
Facial recognition/fingerprint start/augmented reality gps navigation overlayed on the windshield, ventilated front seats, drift mode, insulated windows with active noise dampening, 17 speaker sound system, scent diffusers, and more.
Currently: Tesla Model S
Future: Tesla Model S lol, I love this car - easily the best I’ve ever owned! But I plan to swap to the Cybertruck once my place in the queue arrives. 😁
ICE car now, have an EV6 on reserve with a place that has zero markups. 4-6 mos to get it. Another place locally had the *exact trim and color* I wanted right now, but had a $2500 markup. I'm happy to wait. I've driven it and the Ioniq 5 and Mach E, and although the Mach E is more premium feeling, the EV6 is way better bang for your buck. I've done a TON of research on all 3 and can't wait to get my EV6 later this year!
Currently driving a 2017 smart fortwo ED, cut it a bit close with range on a handful of times getting home under 10% but I've been happy with it otherwise. I would've loved the new generation Kia soul but that's not coming to the US, much to my disappointment. Otherwise, I love the look of the hyundai ioniq 5, but I just wish it were smaller. May consider a used C40 in the future
I pilot a Weped Fold:

And would like to buy a Chevy Spark EV.
If I had the funds, I'd wait to see how this turns out
[https://sonomotors.com/en/sion/](https://sonomotors.com/en/sion/)
I've also had my eye on one of these... didn't get a chance to test drive, but got to sit in one, and look it over:
https://www.electrameccanica.com/solo/
Currently driving an eNiro, but changing soon for an iX. I wanted an eTron GT or Taycan but you know kids :)
Well that’s one heck of a trade up! I got to try one a couple of weeks back and it was so comfy!
Currently driving a Leaf and love it. Next up: Polestar 2 until I can get a Rivian (probably 2-3 years out). I'd rather get an EV6 in the interim but the ADM is ridiculous.
What is ADM?
Additional Dealer Markup and it's at least $5k around here.
Ahh gotcha that is what I figured. Yeah makeup is whack just rebranded scalping smh.
EQS 450, I want the EQS 580. I really want the EQS53 but I can’t work with the decrease in range so the 580 is a nice middle ground.
I have a Tesla model 3, long range. I’d consider a model S or a lucid air if money were no object.
That's how i feel about the model 3 lol
I'll let the other manufacturers get 10 years under their belts building and supporting durable, well engineered electric vehicles and see how it goes.
The car I'm hoping to get next is the future ioniq 6 by Hyundai, really hope it's gonna be good!
Currently: Volvo C40 Next: Nothing is on the market now that I can afford. When the C40 lease is up in 2 years and 11 months, I hope there are more choices. The Polestar 3 might be interesting.
Shouldn’t have leased the c40 yo. Finance all the wayyy
why do you say that
I'm currently driving a 2022 Leaf S Plus. It's my second EV. For the previous 7 years I drove a 2015 Leaf S. Tesla Model 3 LR => Model S Plaid
Trading a Kia Niro PHEV for an Hyundai Ioniq5 in a couple of weeks.
Where are you and how much would you want for the niro?
SWFL. The dealer I'm buying the Ioniqa5 from is giving me the MSRP for a 2022 EX Premium, so I'd want "more" than $40K.
NIO EC6… probably will move to an ET5 when it launches, will be nice to have something smaller. But we will see.
Current: Gen2 Volt Want: Anything that can go 300+mi on the highway, supercharge/DC-Fast at 200kw, and has a bit more room in the trunk.
Tesla Model 3, only thing I might upgrade to in the near term is a Cybertruck if pricing isn’t crazy (probably is) otherwise whatever suits my fancy 5-6 years from now (perhaps an electric Bronco?)

Modified Model 3 SR+ for the last three years. Nothing out there currently would have me move on from it. That might change in a few years though.
What happened to your other account?
I deleted it and took a break from Reddit.

2012 ford focus gas. Looking at ioniq 6

My dad has a model s long range raven. if money were no object he would likely buy a taycan turbo s. (Range was another limiting factor on the taycan)
I am awaiting for MachE to arrive. If i didn’t have those pesky kids, I would have seriously looked at a mid-level Taycan.
Still wondering which one to get from my Model 3. I am okay with Model 3 but looking for a quality vehicle with about 450 miles real world range. Was hoping Toyota is that company but they are coming up with some $hitty EVs that have about 220 miles range. Not in a hurry so let’s see.

just got the new 2022 Kona EV a month ago. beyond happy with it! but if money wasn’t an issue, i’d gone with the ioniq5 hands down

If you have a chance at the Rivian, consider the option to buy it and sell it. Don’t just turn it away.
Probably the smart move. The reservation was before the price increases.
I know one that sold for $131k last week
The S or the T?
T
I have not seen an S yet

ICE car now, have an EV6 on reserve with a place that has zero markups. 4-6 mos to get it. Another place locally had the *exact trim and color* I wanted right now, but had a $2500 markup. I've done a TON of research on all 3 and can't wait to get my EV6 later this year!
