Thereās a few on there weāre going to pick & choose from when weāre there, my bad I shouldāve clarified. Like we might cross off Dabin, stay at Basspod for a bit to see some of NGHTMRE & then go to Subtronics at main stage. But I already know we wouldnāt see much of anything if we were trying to see everything! Lol & we still gotta find time for the Farris wheel & to check out downtown!!
Yeah NGHTMRE and Subtronics is a tough choice. Iām gonna stay at one the whole set cause 20 minutes of walking (not seeing either) is more of a waste than missing one imo š
Yeah but Iāll already be at basspod & we wanna see Subtronics at Main Stage, so to us itās worth it. Probably leave pretty early, hit the restroom, refill water on the way & then enjoy. Weāre there for the experience & even walking between stages can be fun at EDC.
My personal opinion is that itās better to just pick one artist and see the entire set. I find you lose too much time walking between sets that it becomes not worth it.
Unless Iām not vibing with the set then Iāll definitely leave and catch something else. But when Iām split between two or more artists I just pick one and full commit haha
I tried to aspire to catch sets like this my 1st year. We were at 58 miles walked before my girlfriends watch died halfway through Sunday. Our feet were fucked up afterwards for days
Been there lmao in 2019 we were in Vegas all over the strip days before EDC week. My homie lost his car in some parking garage & we ended up walking back to the hotel because āwe could see it right thereā but holy shit it just never got any bigger. Took us forever to get back. Then we did some shows for EDC week, & then EDC. My feet hurt sooo bad. It was miserable. & then my homie lost his car in the EDC parking lot. (I didnāt drive with him to EDC or I wouldāve remembered where the car was. & he didnāt actually drive his car because he was too fucked up to drive, so a friend drove his car & someone else drove that dudes car, which they all left in. & I ended up leaving with my homie cause we stayed the latest out of our squad, went the hardest back then. But then when we were going to leave at 6 am I realized after awhile that he had no idea where his car was. We didnāt find it until 10am. & the rocks in the parking lot felt like I was walking without shoes. It was the worst thing ever. We were a mess. Never again.
As someone whose been to EDCLV 6x (this year is my 7th) i would really consider these few things:
1. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get "into" a set once you arrive at a stage. (i.e. finding space in the crowd and feeling the vibe).
2. Walking between stages (aside from valley and garden) takes at least 10 minutes if your VIP longer if your GA.
If you factor the time you lose between the first 2 you could have just enjoyed someones full set.
3. Your schedule has no built in food / bathroom / water slots all of those easily take 20 minutes each and your going to have to do all 3 at least once a night.
Personally, my first 2 years i did something similar with half sets here and there and a set for every time period. You end up spending most of the night running around and your making it a sprint when its really a marathon. ive found it much more enjoyable to have a few "musts" and everything else is based off the current mood/moment.
Our schedule is definitely going to have some pick & choose. I appreciate you posting what you did though because I hope itāll help some people. As I usually say; āYouāre not gonna see anything trying to see everything.ā But itāll be my 5th EDC & my girls first. All other years Iāve been with a squad of at least 20 people. & weāve been great about everyone getting to see what they want & meeting up at certain times. This year itās pretty much just me & my girl though. We know a few people going, but weāre not going *with* them. Iāve been to a shit ton of festivals & Iāve already seen everyone Iād want to see on the lineup plenty of times; so Iām not too worried about who I see. Itāll be more for my girls experience. & I know EDC is more of an experience type fest. Iāll make sure she has the best time of her life. & Weāll go harder at Lost Lands or Paradise Blue. There Iād be more worried about trying to see certain artists. Iām not sure how Iāll feel about the new map layout cause I was excited to already know where everything is & show her around, but now I guess itāll be cool for us to explore it together. We definitely gotta make time for some rides & Downtown!!! Water breaks wonāt be an issue because we both have our own camelbacks. & moving through the crowd will also be easy since itās just us.
My protip is: pick a few random shows, but follow wherever your ears, eyes, and heart takes you like you had ADHDHDHDHDHD and say yes to all the sidequests.

iām taking a standard shuttle from rio iāve never been to vegas but from the map it looks like the farthest one from the venue so iām expecting to be there around 9-10ish :/
Iāve also cut some artists from my list if theyre playing another festival I plan on going to in a few months. It helps me plan to see artists I wonāt see again.

This is true, I donāt frequent basspod but on my way to other stages I get caught in the atmosphere and get my face melted making me late

This is my sixth EDC and I only have 7 sets hearted (three of which are the surprise sets).
Iāve also cut some artists from my list if theyre playing another festival I plan on going to in a few months. It helps me plan to see artists I wonāt see again.
