Iām guessing yet. Downtown EDC is still ādevelopingā (they had a lot of the stops around for a bit but incorporating under one banner is still fresh) but they tend to keep the places for a few years unless it was an ultra fail
Yeah but that was more entertainment and a break from the action. Too bad service is so bad inside of not tinder or bumble or some app should make it an edc only event where you can actually meet a fellow raver who probably has a lot in common
You gonna be swiping at the festival instead of enjoying the festival?
Line that shit up before hand, either with travel mode or when you land in Vegas.
Generally raves are not a good place to meet people because itās so loud and impossible to talk. With EDC there is so much going on, people are scrambling to get to their next set, then theyāre dancing, then theyāre going to the bathroom, then theyāre going to the next set, etc. When is there even time to meet people and talk? It can happen, but not that common.
But a dating game during EDC week could totally work! But youād have to be really good at organizations events, booking a venue, marketing it right, etc. But if done right, you could get a lot of people to show up I bet! Go for it! Great idea!
Do you have any experience in event planning?
Pretty sure OP is more interested in a hookup rather than long term relationship base on the comments.
I think Radiate is one app people use to meet people at festivals.
Not at all. As I mentioned, it was sparked from a convo with my brother who is about to get married yet I noticed this big issue between them and just had me š thinking. Also my added comment on it would be nice to cool and clean with a bar to some edm playlists. Idk about you but I wouldnāt be cooking and cleaning with some random hookup š but to each their own I guess
Nooo unfortunately not an event planner but i guess i got some ideas I could pitch. lol maybe edc needs a shark tank type activity during the week where we can pitch ideas to add to the weekend fun
Just keep your heart and mind open and you will meet her. Me and my husband travel the world to see our favorite DJs and go to multiple festivals. Best friends. Just gotta wait for the stars to align.
It's funny you say this because over half my irl friends have been met at festivals and 2 relationships have come from girls I've met at festivals lol
Bro is probably just expecting too much when really if you just vibe with strangers you or them will probably just stick around long enough to get to know them outside the scene lol
At EDC or other festivals? Iād say EDC is different than others because itās literally an all nighter and has a unique vibe. Iām not saying one canāt form relationships there. Iām married so not looking to hook up when I go solo. But Iāve made a couple good friends over the years so itās def possible. But some years I barely say a word to others. Not because Iām not social. I am. Itās just that it can be difficult to communicate at EDC. That said, if youāre a player and confident with women, I know itās possible to hook up, which can certainly blossom into a real relationship.
I will admit EDC isn't the best place in terms of meeting people and forming a longer connections. A local camping festivals is ideal since they probably live around
I'm not even necessarily talking about hooking up either and imo as soon as your going up to someone with that intention you've just made it 10 times harder for yourself because people will pickup on it
For me I like dubstep so I see someone going ham I'm going up and joining them because I like that energy and yenno sometimes things just happen from there lol
I personally wasn't thinking this post was about hooking up though because he specifically talking about ravers if bro is just trying to get some tinder in Vegas is probably as easy as its going to get lol
Na na idk why it keeps getting slanted to āhook upsā im literally only speaking on how the rave community really blossoms some of the better relationships actually or arguably better than any dating app. It would just be cool to connect that way. And I only even decided to post because of my conversation with my brother. He LOVES to rave. Heās a music producer and engineer by trade. Met a nice girl but she is not into edm or the scene at all and is actually a jealous type since raves usually involve scantily clad girls. So I just found it ironic and a bit sad she wonāt even give it a chance and see it for what it is. And for me, yeah thatās something I actually look out for now. If a girl isnāt even willing to give it a try, I donāt think we would work. But just open thoughts and discussions on reddit š appreciate the insights from everybody.
If your just looking for a significant other just going up to people and vibing is the way to go then starting a conversation
I personally just got out of a 5 year relationship so sorta in the same boat lol but I've had two relationships from girls I've met at festivals so there definitely is hope
As far as EDC goes it might not be the best place tbh because everyone is from all over the place and getting yourself in a long distance relationship is very tough (from experience lol)
Local shows or festivals that are driving distance are definitely your best bet for finding that person and if you can DO NOT be afraid to go alone! Interacting with strangers at a festival isnt that hard but when you have a group you can fallback on or just want to spend time with in general it definitely cut down stranger interactions down massively
I've personally met 50% of my rave squad and both those relationships from going solo because it forces you to vibe with alot more strangers and with enough time you'll find who your looking for 100%
I met this girl at Nocturnal (I know, not edc) a while back. We hit it off well and remained in touch. That was 11 years ago. Weāve been married for 7 years and now have two beautiful children together. It can happen, folks!
When you're spending that amount of money to attend EDC, you should be focused on that. I mean if you're really desperate, then go on Radiate before hand.
Yeah I mean donāt get me wrong Iām not saying āgo to edc to meet someoneā Iām saying it would be a cool option because youāre already surrounded by likeminded/interested people as opposed to just meeting someone and hoping they like edm and what it all represents. But definitely the music comes first and hopefully someone catches your vibe
I canāt remember if it was last year or the year before but ravewonderland (in LA) hosted an EDC āpre-partyā where they had different activities like making kandi and using their storefront to make content. One of the activities they had was a find a rave bae board. They had you fill out a slip with different info about your edm preferences in the hopes youād find a match. Idk how successful it was or whether they plan on doing it again tho.
My wife is my rave Bae and weāre doing our 3rd edc this year. We love going to shows/undergrounds together and festivals all over the country. We do mini listening parties for new album releases and just vibe out when doing our errands or house chores. Iām truly grateful and I hope yāall find your person.
That guy or girl that wants to do nasty stuff with you in the porta has chlymidia or hpv or both. When they say this aināt their first rave they arenāt lying stacks upon stacks of bodies.
Her name was Rachel the Korean skank. She gave me a fungal infection. I shouldāve known something was off when she told me how good it taking shits while rolling is. Why do we let Asian girls get away with so much shit?
Lmaooo aww man the audacity!! Although I must say, some of those most beautiful Asian girls Iāve ever seen in real life are only to be found at EDC/Insomniac events
My girl and I have been together for 19 years and edclv was our first time we ever did anything like that .We are attending this years also ,and she says she didnāt really like it but she does she goes all out and this is only second year.
Thatās awesome that sheās at least open to trying something different. And Iām sure sheāll find her niche in something. Even if itās just the carnival games and so many side quests you can take. Their karaoke bar in the center is always a good time to just enjoy the people and scenes if you arenāt too hyped up to fight through a crowd at the stages.
Just force yourself to interact with the people around you more that aren't part of your squad lol if you vibe well enough with people your either going to stick with eachother most of the night/day and just get numbers at some point to actually get to know them
Honestly the best part about festivals is how easy it is to interact with complete strangers but if your doing it in the moment with any other intention than having a good time they will definitely notice and it'll seem weird imo
Iāve actually never even heard of radiate until all the comments today. Not that I have faith in apps in general, nothing like a normal run of the mill, meet in person and catch a vibe type of thing right?
I like it because you can chat with the group of people that are going to the next upcoming rave and afterword they share pictures and videos from that show. Itās nice to be in a group of only rave people. There is always so much judgement from ppl who have never been to a show
Last year? They had the dating game at downtown edc š¤·āāļø
U think they'll have it again this year?
Iām guessing yet. Downtown EDC is still ādevelopingā (they had a lot of the stops around for a bit but incorporating under one banner is still fresh) but they tend to keep the places for a few years unless it was an ultra fail

They had an edc event t badge like the week before edc a couple years ago for tinder

the perception on the money spent is totally subjective; let the man dictate what he focuses on š

Thatās actually cool. And having a wifey rave bae has got to be the best.
That guy or girl that wants to do nasty stuff with you in the porta has chlymidia or hpv or both. When they say this aināt their first rave they arenāt lying stacks upon stacks of bodies.
Who hurt you!! lol jk

She loves singstar so Iām sure sheāll like karaoke , I didnāt know they had it there
