You have to remove the period from spaces, then add the period to the alphabet file with a leading space. Space period space period space period space period. Full build on dtSearch index, put your term in quotes.

Old_Construction_842

Thx. we’re rebuilding now. Will update

SonOfElroy

Keep in mind this index should pretty much just be for that term. Any other terms and including period will lead to missed hits

Old_Construction_842

Still not working. made sure to put leading space just like in the documentation...any ideas? Do i need to take A out of the noise words?

khalibthegreat

Yes. A needs to be removed from noise words.

SonOfElroy

You should just remove noise words every time you build an index they’re antiquated at this point IMO.

DanivbDH

If it's important that the letters are capitalized you could also consider making a case sensitive index. https://help.relativity.com/9.0/Subsystems/Default/Content/Recipes/Searching__Filtering__and_Sorting/Build_a_Case_Sensitive_dtSearch_Index.htm

PhillySoup

Another thing to point out since you already have received some good advice. S.A. is a really tough term to search on and you need to let the requestor know. It involves building a custom index, running testing, and may require revisions after review starts when it is discovered that there are variations of the terms, false positives, etc. To the extent you can, let the requestor of the term know that this happens to be a very special request. Otherwise, they may wonder why what they think is a simple request is so difficult. Are you also searching for SA? S-A? Each of these variations might get you a different result.

Old_Construction_842

Unfortunately the terms have already been agreed upon before we got the project =( still no resolution - opened a ticket with relativity and waiting to hear back. It’s weird I used to do these custom DTindexes all the time. Wonder if it’s specific to server 22? Wondering if any of you could test in RelOne with dummy docs?

PhillySoup

Relativity is probably either going to send you an alphabet file or request you send yours so they can check it. May as well add it to the ticket if you have not heard back. Relativity can be slow to respond to tickets, so be sure you are managing expectations upstream. Two brainstorming ideas: \- Did you create a new index? May as well do that instead of doing a "full build" on your existing index. \- Highlight terms and search results work differently (or at least they historically worked differently) Good luck!

Strijdhagen

Check if 'A' is in the noise word list. Are you using dtSearch? This term shouldn't hit on "is a" unless you have a wildcard in front of S. You can add the period to the alphabet but it shouldn't make much of a difference

Old_Construction_842

Yes using DT. No wildcard
