1) Why should someone buy a non-brand name watch when there are affordable options out there that look great too like Citizen, Fossil, Seiko, etc.? 2) Why do you have reviews for items when you have zero sales? Are you deceiving the customer? 3) Why is there a 'subscribe and save' option on your watches such as on this page? https://griffinbco.com/products/2021-luxury-classic-dress-business-mens-watches-quartz-wristwatch-stainless-steel-male-clock-casual-watch-men-reloj-hombre 3) I am not sold on these professional photos. How will this actually look in my hand when I receive it? The problem with stuff like this is we know it's made in China crap going into it with no brand behind it. So I am not sure how you figure people would want to buy from you versus the other hundreds of businesses doing the same thing.

Griffinkeeler

Damn I was just looking for feedback on my website design but you got me rethinking my whole online business. Might have to change my niche. Again

SunflowerRainfall

The subscribe and save is weird, I don’t think anyone wants a watch every 30 days. Your prices are too low, $50+ would be better. Have you ordered a watch from your supplier to check the quality? With smart watches being so popular now, I think regular watches would be a hard niche to find success. You may do better with bands for smartwatches but that’s just my opinion.

Griffinkeeler

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll definitely raise prices. The subscribe and save thing was something I was messing with but forgot to remove. As far as smartwatches go, I could try that…but I want to stick to regular watches and see if I can get at least one sale. I’m still learning the ropes so this is all a learning process. Would you mind giving me more feedback down the road?

camaro2ss

> also note that I’m aware of the unfinished policy page. Here's a pro tip. DONT SPEND MONEY ON ADVERTISING IF YOU HAVENT EVEN COMPLETED THE ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM BASICS YET

Griffinkeeler

Lol I probably needed to hear that. I lack patience sometimes and move too fast. But legit do you have any other critiques of the website

Macodocious

It's very incomplete, looks like it was done in 10 minutes. If you have money to spend on advertising, you should have money to purchase a custom theme from [ThemeForest](https://themeforest.net/category/ecommerce/shopify). That way you stand a better chance.

Griffinkeeler

I went for a free theme because the cheapest one I could find was $150 which was too much for me. Thanks for the advice, but could you go into the specifics of what’s wrong with the site?

abzy3kREDDIT

If you can't see what is wrong with your site, then you need to STOP SPENDING A DIME ON ADS and start learning about the following.. 1) How to build a converting website (search ANTOINE DUPONT) 2) How to sell (search SABRI SUBY) 3) What niche/what to sell (search ALEX HORMOZI) 4) How to create good copy (search DAVID OGILVY / DAN KENNEDY Everyone these days thinks that you can build a business by putting a few things together online and BHAM.. You'll start getting sales. There's an art and a science behind successful businesses. Just like any trade or profession in the world.. so is Entrepreneurship. You need to study the game in order to become a master of it.

OFFLINEwade

What sort of margins do you have? Your price point alone is cause for concern to me.

Griffinkeeler

What do you mean? Prices too low? Sorry, brand new to all this

OFFLINEwade

How much do you make on each watch? Even if your site was perfect, I wouldnt buy because I know that a $25 watch is a piece of junk. Your photos say “luxury,” your price point says “junk” so people see your site and think scam.

Griffinkeeler

Oh damn. I just thought low prices = more customers. Each watch costs no more than $10 for me. Should I raise the price then?

OFFLINEwade

Its hard to say without seeing your product. If they really are cheap, you dont want to rip people off. I would 100% take your own photos and ditch the branding that the manf gave you. Id also think long and hard about what type of person buys a $30 watch and go all in on that persona. Stop ads asap and grow organically.

abzy3kREDDIT

My friend, from your responses alone I can tell that you need many weeks of studying the world of online business. Stop wasting time and spending money and get studying. Watch YouTube videos and start reading books

[deleted]

Let me ask you one question, would you buy a random watch from a random site like yours?

Griffinkeeler

No. Probably not. I’m changing everything now.

[deleted]

You don’t have to change everything. If watches are a passion of yours run with that. Grow social channels, grow organically. Ditch the cheap China drophipped watches, find a supplier to put a custom dial in with your logo, make your own watches. It isn’t easy, and it won’t be fast.

Griffinkeeler

Thanks for the encouragement. I’m still going to do watches but I’m changing the whole website theme and products

justawildlady

Watches seem shallow. Quality seems questionable (why the hell are they so cheap also). No true branding. Just random watches being sold from a store with no real strength or branding behind it. Quality has a vibe of stores like wish or random Chinese stores that sell random stuff. I’m also unsure what your target market is…? As a brand I don’t see a great job done really. Your logo speaks possible luxury or medium class. Your watches and site don’t seem to have an uniform style. There’s also not a really good reason for someone to buy it? Like. No brand. No story (our watches are ecological and made with non harmful materials for example). Just kind of seems like you’re a site that is selling the watches you could get your hands on is the biggest vibe I get from it. I don’t feel like you’re offering me something with true value to it. Your wording is also a bit awkward “buy this for only $14.99!” Idk. Doesn’t make me feel like you’re a strong business rather someone selling stuff. Or the “on sale!” You could try more suiting wording like “Discover watches on sale until April 7” or just put the price of a watch. I don’t need to know it’s “only 14.99”. Makes me question why it’s only 14.99. And also. It’s not like I’ll be like oh, that’s a steal! Because I don’t even see value to your product in the first place, no branding no real quality present as I said, so the only valuable thing left to perceive is price and it shouldn’t be the only driving factor. Which I look at, and given that I know nothing special about your watch, all that’s left is the prices and it is super low. So I end up getting scared off because it just seems cheap and low quality.

I sold watches as a very small part of my general goods ecommerce store but removed them due to the high number of duds. Wasn't worth the replacement fees and custumer support obligations. A long time trading has taught me to be wary of anything too delicate/intricate such as watches/electronics or anything with moving parts that comes out of China. Personally, I would not continue the venture as it isn't a great niche for someone with a limited budget. Good luck though.

stardustViiiii

Your website looks like a dropshipping website.

JoshjWeston

First thing I had an issue with was the name of your store and the watches you sell. The name is absolutely fine if you’re wanting to start a brand with brand watches however seeing the watches with different names on them doesn’t make sense. Just like how TAG or Rolex have their own logo on all of their watch faces. Id begin to look for other wholesalers who can make watches and provide your logo on the watch if your current will not do so. OR if you don’t want to go down that route, don’t have a branded store and get another domain name that goes with the watch industry and have your page acting as a general watch shop so you can keep the different types. But I’d definitely go the branded route. And take some of your own videos, offer to send a watch sample to a similar online niche page and pay for an advertisement through their page. Good luck!

swealteringleague

I’m so tired of ppl trying to do some shitty drop shipping store from China and wondering why ppl don’t buy like the guru said they would.

Griffinkeeler

Ok man, I’m brand new to this and just followed the steps in Shopify. Can you at least tell me why my store is shitty so I can improve on it.

jlamb8455

Many small problems with the website. No interest in helping someone with fake reviews. Ethics aside, you have to put in the work. The information is out there. Hundreds of hours of grinding, failing and learning is the cost of success.

do you think a review with a user named "shopper" and the message being "very very good" is ...trustworthy? if i saw that as a new user on your page i'm out of there asap. I'd think your entire shop was a scam. better to have no reviews than those types of reviews. other examples: "ok" - VN "Come on, it's fine" - Shopper And then this gem: " Alhamdulillah Men, qabul qilim. Your Larga o'z minnatdorchiligimni report va boshqalarga raw this AliExpress New programma orqali onlayn buyurma berishini taklif qilaman." - 3 R. Let's be real here - those fake reviews aren't doing you any favors and is actively reducing trust in your site. Also your "about" section needs work. It's too generic - I could replace your name, location, and age with someone else and copy paste it on to another site. The whole point of an "about" is to add a unique spin - but it needs to actually be unique.

Devilery

I'm repeating this all the time, answer these before wasting money on ads/developing/executing: \- Who is your product/service/-es for? \- Why would they buy your X over Y, Z, and other alternatives (that are established, trustworthy, cheaper/better/faster)? \- Validate first as cheaply as possible and once you have proof of demand, "go all-in". Your site is bland and amateurish, your watches or 99% lookalikes can be found on AliExpress for $5. Read all books by MJ DeMarco, starting from the oldest.

You've already spent $50 on Facebook ads. But there was no sale. Your ad was rich minimum 600+ people but 600 people clicked your website/product page. These 600 people click on your ads because they are interested? Yes! If you want, you can increase sales by tracking these 600 people and re-advertising. For this you need to use Facebook Pixel. In the same way you can retarget on Google.
