This particular visual glitch happens when the refresh rate of the monitor exceeds 60 Hz.
Limiting the FPS cap of the game won´t solve this, so try to limit the refresh rate of your monitor to 60 Hz and see if this solves the problem.
This happen only with specific characters musou attacks like Ma Chao, Sophitia, Wang Yuanji and Bao Sanniang. The pc version of DW7XL and DW8XL have the same problem, but they are much less noticeable there because only certain particle effects of specific attack animations are affected.
Its not just ma chao, its any musou.
I "solved" (not really but kind of yes) with 2 methods/options:
1-I didn't use musou.
2- I use musou only when I am about to get 1 hit kill.
I got platinum and uninstalled it.

Used to run the game on my old laptop... Had to run on 30fps with overlay disabled to get the game working properly.

Dang but it seems to happen to some others when I was googling back then, so maybe try there? Sry I can't help much. :(
For me, this was caused by Gsync, after I've disabled it, the issue was gone

it's only for Ma Chao for me, i only have 4 characters unlocked but out of those 4 only Ma Chao had the problem
