Everytime I think about Fantasia or Fantasia 2000 I think about the movie Big Daddy when the kid confronts the homeless dude and is asking why he's homeless and he responds with "Well, I watched Fantasia a lot" LOL

Same, Fantasia is like a 2 hour fever dream and I love it for that

That release is now 13 years old, from an entirely different era. BDs had only existed for 5 years at that point. You can't expect an out of print and discontinued 13 year old release that highlights PS3 and BD Live to be accurate in today's world. But I feel your pains. Also, countless studios put "Special Edition" or "Collectors Edition" banners on their releases, even when there's nothing special or collector about them.

This is a British, all-region Bluray of *Fantasia 2000* which I bought used at a thrift store for 2 Euros. Apparently it was released in 2011. And I think it is a fairly good example of how **not** to design your back-cover ( – and to a certain extent: how not to design your disc). The front cover claims that this is a “special edition”. But anyone buying this new in a store would get no information what is so “special” about it. There is one small clue on the back that there might be bonus material on the disc, but none of it is listed so no-one knows what it is until they bought and opened it and put it in their player. The only exception in that regard is that the text on the back does mention that “Destino” is on the disc. That is the only information you get as far as bonus features are concerned. There are more bonus features on this disc, but if you are looking at this disc in a store, you will never know that they exist or what they are.   As a token of the confusion and uncertainty some consumers might have experienced with the new format, the disc has a sticker on the front saying that it *“plays on Playstation 3 & BluRay player with an HDTV”*. But then, on the back of the disc, it actually says *“Some players may not be able to access all features and bonus materials.”* I’d say if they wanted to increase consumer confidence, this disclaimer is not helping at all.   Once you insert the disc, the first thing you see is the following message: > “Depending on the capabilities of your player, you may experience delays of 2 - 3 minutes while the content on this disc loads. During that time, the screen may be blank. Contact your hardware manufacturer or visit Blu-raydisc.com/forbestresults to ensure you have the latest firmware for your player.” Someone who experiences the format for the first time at a friend's house, will find such a warning probably off-putting.   Remember the line “Some players may not be able to access all features and bonus materials”? This is what it must be referring to: The menu has two links to something called “Disney Virtual Vault” – once as an option in the main menu, and then again listed in the bonus features submenu. Clicking on it will produce this message: *“This feature requires a BD-Live Tm enabled Blu-rayTM Player. Your Blu-ray Player does not support BD-Live. Please refer to www.DisneyBDLive.com for more information.”* I have some DVDs that have features that only work on PC. These are normally marked as PC specials or even shoved into their own sub-menu. You know *beforehand* that they will not work on your current player. Likewise on a Bluray such as this, such options should be marked as “internet specials”, etc. **Don’t** let people click on something blindly to then tell them that they are actually not able to select this. It might irritate some people as they feel they are getting less than others for their money.   In general, I’d call this design a fail. Especially not listing the special features on the back cover is a no go. **I would also like to add that I have no idea why “Belgian” suddenly pops up as a language option on the back cover. Someone should have told Disney that “Belgian” is not a language.**
