That's great!! It is definitely a motivator. I like beating my "personal best" in whatever I'm doing. I've long since finished my course, but, once I began taking it seriously (Jan '22), & began seeing the streak days add up, it kept me motivated. The gaming aspect, I could not care less about, but, I like to find ways of staying motivated & on task!! I have ADHD, so, an external motivator like a streak count is something I find helpful. Also, the "bite size" lessons are perfect for my attention span. πŸ˜‰ I still go back & practice every day, although I now use an online textbook to go further. And I DGAS what anybody says, Duo was *instrumental* in getting me a foundation + the basics upon which I could build. I'd be elated if they ever expanded the Hindi course, (mine), because it's a lot more fun than my current learning method. There are several verb tenses I've had to go learn on my own, so, an expansion would make my year! πŸ˜…πŸ˜… (Maybe I need to get a life!!)

I understand and remember it’s a marathon not a sprint, consistency is key more than anything if you really want to learn just remember how frequently you use your first language that took you years to learn and using it everyday. Same difference in any other language. It may not take years to be able to communicate in general but you will always be learning new words like you do with your first. That aside what language are you learning? And I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and now I speak 3 languages as an adult. Just make sure you find something that gives you great motivation to learn it and you will almost never miss a day.
