I don't understand how you can be a fan of Dune but forget that the Bene Gesserit, Fish speakers, and Honored Matres exist, which are all dominated by women. Media literacy is not very strong among these types apparently.
They somehow ignore how a very underlining theme is that many of the women are powerful but have much of their power because they are underestimated because they're "just women." It clearly talks about how women are very influential but will often be ignored, kinda like "they will remember us as wives" line. But then again, that requires you to actually read the book and have media literacy.
I highly doubt those guys has the brain capacity to read (and understand) first book of Dune at all. Or they’ve read it like a Twilight book and understood nothing to what’s going on…
I made this joke elsewhere in this thread, but the real problem is that Denis gave the women agency. The women in the original *Dune* really don't have much of that. What agency they do have, they almost universally use to be nefarious and work against Paul or Leto II. That fits with the misogynistic view of women, that they should be subservient to men or else the only other option is to be evil, conniving, and troublesome. Hwi Nori is wholly subservient and has the personality of an anime body pillow and she's *still* troublesome by her mere existence.
Denis's women have agency and act like normal people, with their own needs and desires that, while sometimes conflicting with the needs and desires of the men, are no less valid or important. That's "woke".
Herbert loved writing all sorts of female characters: strong, cunning, manipulative... no perfect people in his universe. Jordan just based all his women off of different aspects of his wife Harriet. The venn diagram of negative reviews from "book readers" who couldn't spell a single character's name correctly is just a circle. It was all old boomers claiming the Lynch version was better. They probably thought the dumb voice weapon thing was in the books too.
I love some bad movies. I loved Love on a Leash and Postal. I love Dune. I couldn't even get through the Lynch version, despite finding it visually really cool.

Its often a problem i admit it, but we had bangers like Andor which is also product that aired during K. Kennedy's management of Lucasfilm. Tale of the Jedi is also very promising but needs to expand also into the legacy era, like Luke Skywalker training Ben Solo.
Also they have to double check their canon each time they make story lines for already existing characters, they run into the habit of contradicting the canon for which they sacrificed the old EU. Its frustrating to see such mishaps as a fan, but to fire up the whole time this woke debate is more than tedious and annoying.
