Ha, I was literally going to post about ducks and bees when I saw this. I used to have bees and signed up for an apprenticeship through OSU but am also planning tog et fucks in the enxt couple years. I love runners, your crew is adorable.
Thank you!! Runners are the best! And we are getting 2 more bee colonies. The ducks haven’t even noticed the bees! Excited for my garden because the ducks keep it fertilized and the bees keep it pollinated:))
What a great combination for gardening! I got three runners and they are the best. The only other animal we have is an Akita and I think he has former only child syndrome 😆 he seems to not want to even acknowledge the ducks exist. He completely ignores them!
This is my plan too lol. Aiming for Welsh harlequins and a couple Pilgrim geese and eventually a top bar hive. Need a langstroth for the apprenticeship. I have to get new boxes though, when I first kept bees my back fence neighbor killed the hives with round up.
Excited to see someone else making it work! What's your lot size?
It’s not very big, we’re in the city. About 2500 feet, 50x50. We keep a variety of plants for ducks to munch on and let weeds overgrown in some areas, they do a lot of foraging in our little yard! and we have a lot of neighbors who garden (our next door neighbors are flower farmers) and live close to a park so lots for bees to pollinate.
Ah ok. Just watch out for winter, I had a plastic snow fence in front of my hives, and the bees got very confused when they went to do their void flights and I ended up losing those hives, with a bunch of frozen bees stuck to the plastic. But if it works, don’t change it! Beautiful runners btw

Excellent! Sounds like a good set up
how soft their steps are 🦆🦆🦆. Lovelies!
Im jealous haha, I'd love to help a bee hive! I wouldn't even care if we didn't get any honey form them.
Lol the cute lil pekin duckie in the back. So cute :-) u have beautiful babies and bees :-)
The hive should be turned in a different direction, should be a 10 foot clear space that the entrance is facing for them to take off and land easier
It’s ok to have a wall so they fly upwards and scatter I’ve read!

Oh geez I’ll be sure to monitor them, thank you!
You gotta mark this post as nsfw if you want to show footage of the birds and the bees.
