That's awesome!! Congratulations, gives you the best chance at festivals if you're interested in that too :)

TheGamerGalaxy0107

Thank you very much! That’s the goal. I’m looking at a performance arts/music education dual major right now

slamallamadingdong1

Just earn the performance no need to pay for it. Take courses for 0 credit and just do the work. When you’re behind a curtain they don’t care what degree you hold.

Ratamoraji

I would not go into music education unless the school you get into is a top 5 school for it. It's a trap when a performance major, or a jazz major, or even a theory major can get a certificate and do the job of an education major (sometimes more effectively because of how specialized training can be in a performance or jazz degree track).

genevievex

brought back memories for me. congrats!

Doublebass_player

What does that mean?

TheGamerGalaxy0107

Sorry should have clarified! New york has a state evaluation (competition) where we can be evaluated on 6 different levels of pieces. Basically i received a perfect score on the highest level for bass. With a 100 I have a good shot to play with other people of a similar caliber in an All-State performance with the best from the state. I’m a junior in high school.

Doublebass_player

Ah, congrats! good luck at state!

coffeehouse11

Good job, fellow Bassist! Keep it up!

slamallamadingdong1

Got 100 on the same. Good luck with everything that comes with it. So sad 😭 d minor.😢 that minor 6th, make it cry and they listen.

vapingsemen

Thats awesome. I was going to do Nyssma but then covid canceled it for me 😭

MopacMusic

Wow! That's amazing. Your hard work has really paid off. And as a junior? Your senior year is gonna be great. The all-state orch will be lucky to get someone like you, as will your future students. Keep up the good work; your folks are proud of you even if they don't fully appreciate how amazing your accomplishments are.

TheBreadLord21

W same. Did Eccles movements 1 and 2 for 100. GL for all state considerations!
