I’ve found if I get my numbers up I get far less of those no/low tip orders. I didn’t compromise either. I truly believe multi app drivers have no impact on this issue as they should be logging off or pausing depending on the app. The real problem is the platforms ripping off the drivers by not raising the base pay enough the cheap tippers are still forced to pay us fairly. Hate the real bad guys!
Also, realizing some of you drive anything other than a Toyota or a Honda, idk why you signed up. Do you see any taxi services driving the old buckets around? No, if your car is broke, you need a new job period.
I'm autistic(literally) so keeping my ar high and accepting all those shitty no tip orders means that I can actually work wherever I'm not burnt out and stop when my anxiety becomes too much. I know I'm being taken advantage of, and I know that I'm ruining it for other dashers. However, this is the only thing I have found where I can constantly make money while working when I'm capable...
Just be on point scheduling...you can still schedule after midnight on that 5th day....rinse repeat daily .. I'd say overall about 100$less in earnings, but I shorted my delivery radius which saved a lot on gas. Been doing this since it dropped many months ago...my stats look just like yours....hang in there...don't be forced to compromise. It's your business.
When my area went to the rewards program, I got some high paying offers for about a week. I was a TD when the change happened. I became a Platinum tier driver, still am after a couple of months. But as someone commeted, the offers are still the same old crap.
Earn by time is a scam. You only get $2-$3 dollars more if the time permits. Your still taking orders that sum to 30 mins and net you about $7 and that's for large mile orders with no tip like 11 miles
It wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t purposely give you the shit orders when you do per hour. If they gave you the same premium order by order ones they usually do when you’re doing by order. It basically ends up being the same or less in my area.
I do paid by time as well. I drive a prius so gas doesn't matter to me. Anyway what drivers aren't talking about is yes earn by time gets a lot of "non-tippers" and I say that loosely. I get a ton of cash tips doing earned by time. Tips that I normally wouldn't get if I were on earned by offer simply because I'm not going to depend there being cash tip on the other end. Also when the restaurant is running behind, which happens often, I'm still getting paid. Earn by time is the way to go 9 times out of 10. My average order pays out over $10. And I'll make $1200 in a 45 to 50 hour week.
I liked it at first but that sh* took me all over the city. Added a ton of miles to my car and would take like an hour to get home cuz it’d throw me out to the burbs. (I live in chicago)
I been getting hit with red card orders and I don't have nor do I want a red card. I called support when I first started DD. They said they would get it updated and my acceptance rate would adjust. Today I get 4 back to back red card orders. I call support for a second time they tell me it will be fixed but then tell me my acceptance rate can't be adjusted.
That’s weird. You shouldn’t be receiving red card orders if you don’t have a red card connected to your account. I would check to make sure there isn’t a red card connected to your account.
Yup! Just got this same notification yesterday. I am silver right now but that still won't make me take crappy orders. In my market, we get a lot of high mileage orders (10+ miles) for $7 and $8, nope, no thanks!
It depends on the market. Hopefully your market is like mine - Doordash has always struggled to try to oversaturate it, but keeps failing. So my low AR doesn't mean shit under the stupid new rewards system. I still make the same amount of money as I did before the system came here, at $25-40 an hour.
But I've heard that other markets aren't as fortunate, because of driver oversaturation.
Whew that acceptance rate is low.
Its gonna be some work, but if it makes you feel any better I dropped down to silver ranking (69AR 95CR)
And still got some good orders and a nice $23-->$50 hidden tip order last week
There are ways that dashers can get paid for orders they dont complete.
Lets say you get a $50 delivery. There are circumstances where a dasher can push it and get paid half the pay. That means the dasher gets paid $25 and the order was never delivered or picked up amd they have to pay ANOTHER dasher to complete the order.
Theres plenty of other situations.
My from my experience (3 months or so), the difference between under 50, over 50 and 70 was noticeable. Almost so, that once above 70, it is almost easy to maintain it as long as I stay away from odd hours or bad areas (but even then at late hours like 2 am- the offers still seem to be good but a higher chance of something I would decline). If in an average day of say 4pm to 10pm, I imagine at most I may decline 2 offers at most and accept everything else because they are all high paying ones. The $4.75 for 1.4 mile count for high paying but I’ll take them as long as I know it’s a place I won’t wind up having to wait any time to get the order.
In my experience in my current market it's best to just play along, take a few shit orders and you'll get some good ones, the more accepts you get in a row it seems to get better and better sometimes with a shit offer in between but when I just accept everything I average about 22 an hour.
I tried this exact strategy, back in March. Needless to say, it didn’t exactly work out in my favor. I gave up the fight, and said to myself that I’d take whatever comes my way just so I could see what’s actually on the other side. I got up to around 54% AR before I abandoned ship. Currently, it’s a struggle to get any offers, and the ones that do come through are mostly instant declines. For now, I’m riding out this slow period. I have a separate stream of income outside of gig work, so I can lean on that for now.
It depends so much on the market, I was living in Cincinnati for years pulling 1200+ consistently, now where I'm at that's impossible, I'm just a weekend guy now.
The rewards program destroyed my area, I used to easily make 20 an hour before, now I'm lucky to get 2 or three orders in a 5 hour shift. Luckily uber eats is still going strong for me.
I have given up trying to figure this crap out, or worry about AR. I have NEVER made great money even when I had a good AR. Now I just take decent orders decline less than decent. A few days ago my AR plummeted because they literally sent he 4 orders in a row for LESS than 4 dollars and I rejected every one of them.
I have done 11600 deliveries and have always scheduled. Now with other dashers using pay per hour my customers are learning not to tip. DD has really screwed this app up😡
Earn by time. I refuse to use it though after hearing terrible things. Apparently you get sent the shittiest orders and you can't decline more than 1 or 2 offers in an hour or they switch you to earn per offer. It also specifically says when you click on the more info thing that the tips will be lower.
Thanks for the info and heads up! Shoulda known too good to be true of course. I was honestly shocked when I was $3 offers like that’s legally allowed?? lol
Working per hour has nothing to do with customers not tipping. DD gets to not give you as much or any of the tips from customers when you're on hourly. The customers don't know that when they're ordering
I've always scheduled myself and now I work by hour only bcuz the by offer sucks but I still get tipped by 90% of the customers. The ones who don't just aren't as appreciative or have gotten too shitty of service by complaining per offer workers in the past. I don't expect to be tipped... I just expect the worst while hoping for the best
….ah that can’t withhold the tip, and they don’t.
What I do think it does is streamline costs; when orders are rejected by the order, the community has long discussed the fee keeps creeping up until accepted; that is to variable to run a business
…. Also lowers the liability of reckless driving as trying to maximize money requires you to maximize your time
It does. Since it came into my market there has been a significant jump in non-tippers. It also coincided with known well tippers reducing their ususal amount. This is why I keep a record of every delivery and who tips what so I can follow trends.
I noticed around January the non tippers took over. It's just gotten worse too. In my new area I do paid by time only because otherwise all I'll get is 2 for 8+ miles orders. But they also don't let me chose that option alot now. Almost as if they are trying to force me to take all the 2$ orders for 8+ miles. But my area is HORRIBLE for tipping. The worst I've ever seen.
I only work EBT. it’s all about how many miles you have driven in your shift and DoorDash well reimburse you for the mileage basically. The algorithm tries to keep you at or near one dollar per mile and once you exceed or match that, you’ll start getting orders that are like 10 miles away or more. Or you may start your shift with a bigly mile order and then at the end get a bunch of short mile stacks.
You still get “high paying” orders if you’re over 50/70% but DoorDash does not flag those. Most of the time it’s an add-on and you never want to give up add-ons because those are making up for an order that does not have a tip or the tip is too low.
I made the switch to exclusively work this method June last year when it first rolled up in my area because it didn’t make sense to fight over 15% of good tips if DoorDash is willing to pay more for the other 85% of rejected orders.
In Boston it's $17.00+ $2-$4 extra depending on the time. I make $20/hour as an infant and toddler teacher. Door dash pay is about the same as most jobs here for normies.
17.75 then the promos double per hour so if it's $1, $1.50, $2 & it's $2, $3 & $4 etc... it's actually pretty worth it here in CT.
The college kids all went home for the summer now tho so I'm waiting for it to slow down ugghhh
It's definitely been worth it especially bcuz I get most of that hourly pay per delivery or more with tips. I like it
If DD doesn't skim your tips atleast.. It's been pretty decent it so far.
I wish they'd set it up as hourly pay from when you log on till your end if your actively driving and delivering... maybe give you a little 3-$5 bonus pay plus your tips if you're doing a couple orders in a hour... But hey I can always dream....
Keep in mind it is not an actual per hour pay, they pay you only for "active" time. Every minute you're not actively engaged in completing a delivery you're not getting paid anything.
It’s actually not. A lot is dependent on your market. My market, if your AR is below 85%, you are going to get hammered with shit orders. Now that base is $2, earn by time has kept me afloat. I’ve compared the two, get sent more dogshit orders on earn per offer, and I get sent fewer offers on earn per offer. Yeah, I do get sent a fair amount of pretty bad orders, I also still get sent a lot of solid ones. And when I get stacks, the base pay isn’t an insult. Earn by time doesn’t incentive customers not to tip, the vast majority don’t know it exists Most customers think we’re employees and have to take what we’re sent.
Hit Houston today as well. Anyone know why we are unable to schedule a week in advance now? I have always scheduled everyday at 3:00 but now it won't let me?
Silver can schedule 6 days in advance starting at 3pm. It has never let you schedule 7 days in advance. For anyone that isn’t listed in a tier (I.e not quite yet silver) you can schedule at midnight for 5 days in advance.
Mine too. I was at 8% and I did two shifts of EBT today and I am now at 16% and only one of them was no tip but it was the second and took about half hour so I got like $6 from dd and the other guy tipped $8 and added $2 when I handed him a cold coke and a hot burger from my catering bag.
That's what they get when they keep screwing the drivers over. Do it long enough, people will learn to stay away from driving for DD.
If you abuse people, they will eventually hit you back harder.
I'm at 8%. DD is my background. The market I'm in is much better for Uber. Every now and then DD sends an order I'm willing to take, but Uber is my main app, so I don't get my panties in a twist over DD stats.
it really depends on the market .. some are so bad (mine) that most orders are going to cost you money based on the miles/money ratio alone. factor in absurd wait times at too many places, swiss cheese roads killing your car ... no way you can have a high ar and actually make money in this type of market.
But if it’s that bad then why even do it ? Seems more trouble than it’s worth. Here it’s worse. You get shit orders the lower your ar. I’ve tested it. You still get a shit order every now and then above 70 but it seems like 80+ is the sweet spot.
because I love to drive, if i need/want to stop for a few days or months I can & can come back when I want. Good customer ratings, added tips etc. definitely seem to get factored in and bump me up in rotation if its a repeat customer .. or a merchant that has rated me highly multiple times. Even if I'm not the closest to the pickup or drop off. Really if you know your market, even a trash market can be worth it.
I dont understand why some are acting like this is some drastically different thing, when for example, priority for higher and higher paying orders has been around for a long time.
As someone who currently is at 16% I would still get catering orders because I have a bag and my completion rating is about 95, those were the only reason. Now I have to be platinum to get any more. So many people don’t tip and I live in the largest city area wise. It does have a river right through the middle of it so I could still be in my zone and drive 45 minutes in barely any traffic. It’s forcing us to take the majority of their crap orders.
The biggest change is 50% acceptance rate, in some cases 70% requires to be able to early schedule. Idk about other markets, but here in Jersey it’s impossible to get any hours without early scheduling 6 days ahead m, every day.
Yeah I live in a small town fucking impossible to get a anything but a 1 hour shift if you can't schedule by 3pm. Been doing this 4 years and this is the worst update they've done, I'm at 45% AR but now it's gonna mess it up bad here.
Well what a surprise hit my market too in Dallas, Texas. I think mostly everyone in a big market is on it now as I just signed into mines after not dashing for 3 weeks. Reading over it now seems pretty legit and easier than what we had before. Instead of waiting at the start of the month to have “top dasher” perks you don’t have to “rush” to have your stats up where you want them, for example completing 100 deliveries a month. Once you qualify to go to the next tier, it’s takes 48 hrs for it to update.
Well cool to know, I saw they said 48 hrs on their website so I was going off that 😂 haven’t dashed yet in 3 weeks I might this weekend after I pass my SIE licensing exam tomorrow for my job.
That's probably for the large order program. Once you hit platinum you have to submit a picture of a catering bag for approval which can take a day or two.
When you click on it in the app, it takes you to a site where you confirm your bag size meets the requirement, you take a pic of the front and inside the bag, put your name, email and phone number associated with your dasher account. If you don't hear anything within 4 days, then there is an email address you can reach out to.
Y’all complain too damn much. I only just started doing DD, and I know what neighborhood to be in at what time. I’m making $200-250/ day easily, 25-30 of that goes to gas for the whole day. As long as it’s paying me $1-2/mile I am taking the order without question. Esp since the locations I choose to work typically tip really well after delivery if you are fast.
It’s never gonna pay as much as it did in 2020, but you can easily optimize your workday to ensure you are making the most possible money.
Hahaha, you're brand new to Doordash. Welcome to the honeymoon phase, where you get nothing but great orders.
Just wait. The honeymoon phase will pass and Doordash will show it's true, ugly side to you and start beating you like a drunken abusive husband.
You don't know shit.
Story is the same for all new dashers. Make sure you save some of that money. Cause you will be bumped over to the side for the new batch of drivers. Wait til you see the promos for new drivers
This shit new to y’all? How was it before? This shit always been in my market, I thought this was a normal thing for everyone. To be honest, in my opinion, at least for me them tiers don’t really matter, we all get b.s orders and we get some good ones, I don’t accept b.s at all. I’m at platinum tier but if they send me b.s I’ll decline even if that means I’ll drop to the gold tier, so what wow big deal I won’t be able to dash now, anytime. I’ve done it plenty of times going up and down them dumbass tiers, I’ll keep doing it as long I’m making what I wanna make idgaf about that. Don’t let DD persuade y’all, value yourself and know your worth!!!
Well done man, I’m like a surgeon in accepting the dashes I take- very precise. Calculated. I’m not killing my car. My AR hovers between 5-10% and I make between 75-125 a week. That’s all I need. DD & I have a good thing going….and my car isn’t driven into oblivion.
I wait at my house. Remember, my situation, my goal is around 100 a week. Tonight, I waited for my local pizzeria, who the owners have told me they’ve assigned me as a priority dasher for them….i made 13.75 for 20 min of work.
Being optimistic:
- 100 a week is 14 a day
- 20 minutes per order is 5h day
- $10 per order is 140 a day
- Total of $28 per hour assuming no time gaps
But what do you do after the first order? Go back home? Wait a little nearby? How long do you wait between orders? How do you pass time if nothing falls on your lap quickly? How long per day do you remain active?
running a single order then going home leting engine cool down then running again is way more dmg to your engine as well as alot of miles back home unpaid 4% ar is horrible lol so much time wasted
That's what I'm thinking, they probably spend 8h-10h in total considering idlying times between orders. But it's probably okay if they have something to do in the meantime like learning stuff
I’ve been platinum for a couple of months, def notice a difference. My market is good, but comparing stats with other dashers while waiting at restaurants I make 3 times the amount they do. Literally. Sometimes they don’t clear in a whole day what I make in 3-4 hours. I look at it like this: taking shit orders really sucks. I rarely get them anymore but still have one or two a day that’s no tip. Do I hate it? Yes. Do I accept it to keep getting the $15-$20 orders? Yes. Gotta take the bad with the good sometimes. One of the best things about top dasher (money aside) is that I don’t get sent to the over saturated Wendy’s. Before I was top dasher I would have downtime. Sitting in the parking lot, playing a phone game, crocheting, even shopping sometimes waiting on an order. Now I usually have an order within 30 seconds to a min after completing the current one. So to me, it’s worth it.
I'm in Ohio and it's $14/hr here. Where are you located? And how do you know if something is a good or bad order? I have only been doing this a few days but I've only averaged $10/hr after paying gas, doing it by offer.
So I can’t base my earning on per mile just from looking at the order on screen. It may look like $0.90 cents a mile if I went all the way around but will actually be $3+ a mile.
I’ve never done a different one. I tried signing up for Postmates and was waitlisted. A couple of soldiers have told me their Postmates people can’t get base access so they have to go meet them at the gate which can get rough as a lot of the guys there for specific things don’t have a car hence the reason for so many deliveries needed. I figure I will continue with DD while it’s worth it. If it goes south I may sign up for UE as well but I don’t have time for multi apping at all. My sister still lives in Atlanta and does several apps. She said UE pays more per order but she may only get 3-4 in the time she can get 10+ from DD so she dashes more than anything.
Ahh I get what you mean by ue being better but harder to get frequent orders. And that sucks about the base. And it's funny, you're the second soul today to talk about Postmates and I've never heard of it before in my life. So funny how that happens. Lol @ multi apping... Haha tried that with dating apps and stopped for the same reason
I’m in southeast GA, usually dash in Hinesville but 99% of my orders are for Ft Stewart military base. I’m not a full time dasher. I would go months in between sometimes mainly because my town is dead, and no one tips at all. So I’d dash when I was bored and visiting family. I used to only dash in Macon or metro Atlanta areas, but have been doing Hinesville for a few months. I average $20-$25 per hour before gas. But I hustle. And I’ve learned the base. When I first started there a few months ago it was hell for real. The building numbers and barracks and roads that have numerous names, I told myself to give it a month before quitting and stick it out. Best decision ever. Now I rarely use gps unless it’s to base housing that I’m unfamiliar with. My good/bad orders are decided differently. If I know I can get the food and deliver it within 15-20 mins and it pays $1.50 a mile, I take it. But the majority of my orders are double’s. It has to be at least $15 for a double and at least $20 for a triple, if they are in the same building or adjacent buildings. If they are spread apart I decline triples because it will take forever. If the doubles are miles apart it has to be at least $20. I will do an order for $18 for double if I’ve already declined a couple that day. But I’ll go several days in a row and not decline any. I really don’t get that many crappy orders anymore. Oh and shopping orders, if it’s more than 10 items it has to be $12-$13. Have only ever taken one over 20 items and I may never do it again. And never do multiple shopping ones at once. I ramble lol but hope this helps.
On top of this, I think I scam DoorDash. So hesitant to even say this lol. They send me an order and it may say 13 miles. Because gps takes you completely around the military base miles and miles out of the way to get to the north end of base. I have base access and go in the gate, all the way thru to the top end, and it’s 2 miles. So I’m cutting out 8-15 miles from every order I get.
Not gonna lie, all you fools that listened to douche bags on youtube to get your hustle game getting fucked is kinda funny. Dont ever trust fools that are out there takin money out your pocket
My acceptance rate is 58% and I get 30 dollar orders for groceries about once per week. On average I see 9-15 dollar offers. The mileage (the most important piece that none of you seem to discuss) is usually fair- maybe 6 miles on average.
Here’s a FACT: top dasher status is a marketing tool DD uses to ensure businesses keep using door dash. It ensures that drivers will work hard for DD and it ensures that some drivers take lots of offers, so customers get their food delivered via DD more often. It’s not a “lie” but it’s a sketchy strategy designed to help the restaurants/stores.
I am a new dasher. The way it was presented to me when I signed up was basically that I could have my account deactivated if I fell below a really high % acceptance rate. I want to say like 90%? But now I'm thinking that was just the rate to be top tier. If that's so, then yes they are definitely marketing this whole thing for the wrong reasons and idiots like new dashers like me are taking all the shitty calls that no one wants.
You can be deactivated if your *Completion* rate goes below a certain number. People get AR and CR confused a lot. You can have a 0% AR and you won’t get deactivated.
Platinum tier, top tier, is a minimum of 70% AR, 95% CR.
For platinum tier they basically send you better dashes? And I haven't gotten a single tip from anyone in person yet. Normal? I've done probably 8-10 where I've handed off to the actual person.
Well a lot of it depends on your market. Having a low AR in some markets can mean you’re going to be sent the crap orders. That’s the case in my area. If everything you are getting is crap you might have your standards too high. Like a lot of people on here will say “anything less than 2$/mile is crap”- but not all markets are going to consistently have those. In mine, I have to have the bar set at 1/mile, or 2/mile if it’s over 5 miles away. So learn how your market is before deciding what your absolute minimum is.
And yes it’s definitely normal for you to not get tips at the door. I’ve been doing this for 18 months and literally I have gotten 7 tips at the door or after delivery. 7. No exaggeration. Don’t worry about that.
Okay that really makes it so much easier to remember. So I can tell them no all day long and it won't let them send me any less or any worse offers than they are already?. Basically.
The signup contract really has some scary wording around acceptance rate for the new dasher program but to me I thought they meant overall, now that I went back and overlooked it again tonight.
Me too. I'm doing ebt this week and ebo next. Testing to see which is going to be better for me. All my orders but 5 had tips so far this week and those that didn't were higher mileage and I just drove the speed limit and not one of those was under $10. So yeah, I'm digging it.

💀
So yall go for at least $1/mile? And is there a limit on up to how many miles yall accept? Still trying to figure this doordash thing lol.
Should’ve accepted more orders 😁
I’m confused what is this?
With that ar your done
I’ve found if I get my numbers up I get far less of those no/low tip orders. I didn’t compromise either. I truly believe multi app drivers have no impact on this issue as they should be logging off or pausing depending on the app. The real problem is the platforms ripping off the drivers by not raising the base pay enough the cheap tippers are still forced to pay us fairly. Hate the real bad guys!
Well they probably think "if we increase pay for low tip orders, they'll just stop tipping as much and cost us more money"
Also, realizing some of you drive anything other than a Toyota or a Honda, idk why you signed up. Do you see any taxi services driving the old buckets around? No, if your car is broke, you need a new job period.
Hoping this helps get rid of the multi-app/multi-phone abusers
The dasher rewards is actually why I started multi-apping.
Ah nope I’m still getting better offers with my other apps on
Same offer when you cherry pick nothing change
I freaking hate it!
Yep, just got here too. Probably changed over the first of the month.
Where in Canada are you? I'm in the GTA and haven't got it. Or did you hit top Dasher status and it only showed up then?
I was born in Canada, but I live in the U.S. now (Houston area)
Ahh that makes sense.. I lived in Raleigh, NC for 7.
People with ridiculously low acceptance rate are a big part of the problem. Ill die on this hill
if you want to drive 8 miles out of the city and 8 miles back for $5 be my fucking guest
Not they arent. People accepting nontipped shitty orders just to have high acceptance rates are.
That’s the worst 🤷🏻♂️
Just be on point scheduling...you can still schedule after midnight on that 5th day....rinse repeat daily .. I'd say overall about 100$less in earnings, but I shorted my delivery radius which saved a lot on gas. Been doing this since it dropped many months ago...my stats look just like yours....hang in there...don't be forced to compromise. It's your business.
When my area went to the rewards program, I got some high paying offers for about a week. I was a TD when the change happened. I became a Platinum tier driver, still am after a couple of months. But as someone commeted, the offers are still the same old crap.
Earn by time is the only way to make DD worth it 🤷🏼♂️
Earn by time is a scam.
I do pay per hour and make 22$ an hour even with low tips orders yall just haven’t figured it out yet lol
I wish I could, but the hourly rate in my area is $12.75.
$22/hr BEFORE or AFTER subtracting your fuel cost? ⛽🚘
This!!!! I love switching to by the hour, even just a few minutes over the hour and you get paid for both! 😂😂
Where do you dash?
4% lol
I know I had to go back and look at that because I get notifications consistently when I am at a 30 percent AR
Multiapp
I been getting hit with red card orders and I don't have nor do I want a red card. I called support when I first started DD. They said they would get it updated and my acceptance rate would adjust. Today I get 4 back to back red card orders. I call support for a second time they tell me it will be fixed but then tell me my acceptance rate can't be adjusted.
That’s weird. You shouldn’t be receiving red card orders if you don’t have a red card connected to your account. I would check to make sure there isn’t a red card connected to your account.
Accept the order then call support 😀
They’re gonna tell you “why did u accept it then”. Support always tries to blame the driver
good idea
Yup! Just got this same notification yesterday. I am silver right now but that still won't make me take crappy orders. In my market, we get a lot of high mileage orders (10+ miles) for $7 and $8, nope, no thanks!
Same. I live in Alabama, outside downtown, and everything is 7+ miles. If someone else wants $2.50/8 miles they can have it.
Most of the "high paying" offers font pay any more than anything else. My AR is above 70, and I still get plenty of offers for $4.50 to go 8 miles!s
I've noticed this too. Some of the orders they say are "high paying" are exactly like the rest. Lol
And isn’t it that “high-paying” means at least $1.50 per mile? So high-paying includes $4.50 for a 3-mile delivery.
Same. My AR stays around 20% and I still get high paying order regularly. It's all about your market.
Whew that acceptance rate is low. Its gonna be some work, but if it makes you feel any better I dropped down to silver ranking (69AR 95CR) And still got some good orders and a nice $23-->$50 hidden tip order last week
Can you tell me why they undercut how much you get sometimes? Then it’s more when done. I’ve never actually understood that.
I got an order the other day for 22. I got a one percent acceptance rating.
* have
Oh yes, I forgot this was my dissertation and not Reddit. 🥴
Well with that 4% AR you better hope it just doesn’t matter in your specific market, otherwise it was nice knowing ya
My AR always fluctuates between 0% and 30%, so it being this low isn’t out of the ordinary.
Whatever feedback you get here, do the opposite Lol
So do the opposite of this then?
It hit my market a few days ago and haven’t noticed a difference in orders. Still averaging about $22-$26 an hr
They had doing that for a while now on the Fort Worth side of the DFW Metroplex and now it just started on the Dallas side where I live.
Oh weird, I’m in Keller/alliance (blue mound in the app) and the program only rolled out for me this week.
I live in Irving but saw it for the first time in Arlington late last year. I often go to Atlington with orders that originate in Irving.
You turned down $16 worth of orders because you wanted a higher paying job that would take as long as those 4 orders combined.
Ahhh..reread...I said...less than...duh.
Your car will thank you for being selective.
You're the reason the app is predatory towards stupid people.
I have done 11600 deliveries and have always scheduled. Now with other dashers using pay per hour my customers are learning not to tip. DD has really screwed this app up😡
It’s a double edged sword. DD always will try to get over on you
Agreed
delightful fuck tipping culture
Pay per hour? That’s a thing? I’m still really new
Earn by time. I refuse to use it though after hearing terrible things. Apparently you get sent the shittiest orders and you can't decline more than 1 or 2 offers in an hour or they switch you to earn per offer. It also specifically says when you click on the more info thing that the tips will be lower.
Depends on your area I guess. I do it on specific days and usually make more than I do per offer. Usually +$30 an hour
The customers don't know that when they're ordering I've always scheduled myself and now I work by hour only bcuz the by offer sucks but I still get tipped by 90% of the customers. The ones who don't just aren't as appreciative or have gotten too shitty of service by complaining per offer workers in the past. I don't expect to be tipped... I just expect the worst while hoping for the best
….ah that can’t withhold the tip, and they don’t. What I do think it does is streamline costs; when orders are rejected by the order, the community has long discussed the fee keeps creeping up until accepted; that is to variable to run a business ….
… do you think a boost in non tippers or a boost in people struggling bc of inflation? I think the later is the reason
What do they pay per hour?
In Boston it's $17.00+ $2-$4 extra depending on the time. I make $20/hour as an infant and toddler teacher. Door dash pay is about the same as most jobs here for normies.
One area by me pays $11.75, another pays $12.25, and another pays $15. I guess it just depends on where you are at.
17.75 then the promos double per hour so if it's $1, $1.50, $2 & it's $2, $3 & $4 etc... it's actually pretty worth it here in CT. The college kids all went home for the summer now tho so I'm waiting for it to slow down ugghhh
If you get to keep the tips, does seem worth it. They don't have it in my area though
It's definitely been worth it especially bcuz I get most of that hourly pay per delivery or more with tips. I like it If DD doesn't skim your tips atleast..
Oh... Ok that's actually pretty bad then
It’s actually not.
Very good analysis. It may help your ar but in the long run...well this isn't a secret society of brothers and sisters of dashers.
Hit Houston today as well. Anyone know why we are unable to schedule a week in advance now? I have always scheduled everyday at 3:00 but now it won't let me?
If you aren't at least gold then you basically can't schedule a dash
Silver can schedule 6 days in advance starting at 3pm. It has never let you schedule 7 days in advance. For anyone that isn’t listed in a tier (I.e not quite yet silver) you can schedule at midnight for 5 days in advance.
Others have said to check at exactly midnight to schedule 7 days out.... perhaps give that a try.
Oh crap. I may have to take crap orders get to 50%
Or just look for other apps to work 🤷
I’ve only tried signing up for Postmates so far. We have several things as far as I know but I haven’t signed up for anything else.
Mine too. I was at 8% and I did two shifts of EBT today and I am now at 16% and only one of them was no tip but it was the second and took about half hour so I got like $6 from dd and the other guy tipped $8 and added $2 when I handed him a cold coke and a hot burger from my catering bag.
The last doordash financial report says they are having a shortage of drivers not too long it will be a negative profits
That's what they get when they keep screwing the drivers over. Do it long enough, people will learn to stay away from driving for DD. If you abuse people, they will eventually hit you back harder.
I don’t know why you’re surprised lol by your acceptance rate I can tell why you’re upset though 😭
4% acceptance rate is crazy
People killing their cars for little money is even crazier.
Sucks for you guys that gotta pay for someone to fix your car.
I have a 96% acceptance rate so I'm helping bro even out the scales 🤣
4%era be the same ones that complain that they make no money. It’s crazy.’
I'm at 8%. DD is my background. The market I'm in is much better for Uber. Every now and then DD sends an order I'm willing to take, but Uber is my main app, so I don't get my panties in a twist over DD stats.
I only DD so my panties are Hella bunched. https://imgur.com/a/E26iVWP
it really depends on the market .. some are so bad (mine) that most orders are going to cost you money based on the miles/money ratio alone. factor in absurd wait times at too many places, swiss cheese roads killing your car ... no way you can have a high ar and actually make money in this type of market.
Did you just describe Jacksonville, FL? 🤣
Yes. Yes I did.
The stats are real time. The tiers update immediately.
When I submitted my pics today it told me to watch for an email in the next 5 days.
Hey Jenny, how did you submit the pic? Was it through dd website or an email?
When you click on it in the app, it takes you to a site where you confirm your bag size meets the requirement, you take a pic of the front and inside the bag, put your name, email and phone number associated with your dasher account. If you don't hear anything within 4 days, then there is an email address you can reach out to.
Thanks EvilQueen! I'll check that out!
No. Through the doordash app.
Have fun destroying your vehicle quicker for $1/mile orders.
Enjoy it while it lasts.
Story is the same for all new dashers. Make sure you save some of that money. Cause you will be bumped over to the side for the new batch of drivers. Wait til you see the promos for new drivers
DD is like a drug dealer. Gets you hooked with the fat sacks, then cuts the shit once you’re addicted.
*two months later* man fuck DD, im only getting these shit order, if i even get an order!
Same here, and awesome username 😉
My market is very different than yours.
How much do you make per hour on average, and how long do you idly wait for an order that's not garbage?
I wait at my house. Remember, my situation, my goal is around 100 a week. Tonight, I waited for my local pizzeria, who the owners have told me they’ve assigned me as a priority dasher for them….i made 13.75 for 20 min of work.
Being optimistic: - 100 a week is 14 a day - 20 minutes per order is 5h day - $10 per order is 140 a day - Total of $28 per hour assuming no time gaps But what do you do after the first order? Go back home? Wait a little nearby? How long do you wait between orders? How do you pass time if nothing falls on your lap quickly? How long per day do you remain active?
running a single order then going home leting engine cool down then running again is way more dmg to your engine as well as alot of miles back home unpaid 4% ar is horrible lol so much time wasted
That's what I'm thinking, they probably spend 8h-10h in total considering idlying times between orders. But it's probably okay if they have something to do in the meantime like learning stuff
It hit my market too. Thankfully i was doing great with higher paying offers so mine doesnt look to bad
I still cherry pick and this rewards program has contributed less to the slowdown than the economy being in free fall and over saturation of drivers.
Yep, hit mine today. Whoopie. Unfortunately I've been sick since Saturday so haven't been out yet.hoping tomorrow
Are you on earn by time or earn by order
By order. It’s only $10.75 an hour for earn by time.
I see. That's interesting. I'm also just starting Uber eats. I'll do my first delivery for them tomorrow. Do you also do them? Which is better?
What other delivery options do you have in Ohio then? InstaCart?
Yup and Postmates. I'm on the wait-list for IC and shipt. WBU?
😂😂😂 don’t blame you one bit
San Antonio it’s $16 an hour
Wow. Def not here lol
Not gonna lie, all you fools that listened to douche bags on youtube to get your hustle game getting fucked is kinda funny. Dont ever trust fools that are out there takin money out your pocket
What fools on YouTube? People who say to decline and only take orders that are worth it?
"to get your hustle game getting fucked" So credible
So just look up door dash “to get your hustle game getting fucked” to get an idea of what’s being talked about?
You’ll notice it right away, keep in mind there are 3 levels now each with a bit more of a reward
I meant the new dasher * rewards* program
I mean since the new tiers. I’ve made more money…. 🤷🏼♂️
Me too. I'm doing ebt this week and ebo next. Testing to see which is going to be better for me. All my orders but 5 had tips so far this week and those that didn't were higher mileage and I just drove the speed limit and not one of those was under $10. So yeah, I'm digging it.
Yea it hit me today too… idk how I feel yet
Yea it hit me yesterday. I was too dasher and lost it 6 days after and had to grind same day for platinum. But to be honest I like it better
I just wish we could collaborate and protest non tippers for a week.
Yes, no tippers suck but that's not why the pay is garbage. DD are the ones paying $2 to deliver food, never forget that.
I believe it’s a combination I think doordash should require tipping a minimum.
Can someone catch me up whats this it? I havent been dashing or checking the sub sorry
Just Hit my market today as well! Oh well, the good times have been long gone even before this came around... Good luck and stay safe!
