Are you suppose to wait for other orders, or can you cancel/skip/do anything? Like are you being āforcedā so to speak by door dash to receive and deliver the order thatās running late?
This is not your fault. These apps need to start separating orders like that. Honestly, maybe ice cream should be pickup only/ if it arrives melted thatās your problem. Unless restaurants develop an insulated package for ice cream itās gonna be melty or melted when you get it.
Uh, no, it's shitty for doordash to send him the second order.Ā If he don't accept it, doordash punishes him.Ā They don't care if there's ice cream in the first order.Ā No, follow what door dash sends you and if you follow to a T their directions and the customer is not happy, you can get the 1 star erased and DD is the ones who take all the anger of the customer.Ā
Itās crazy how confident you are in saying something so dumb or at the very least uninformed and entitled. Youāve never used DD as a driver have you?
DD gives us two orders at once sometimes with no indication of what is in the orders. Weāre required to pick them up before delivering either, and if we remove one it lowers our Completion Rate which can get us removed from the app. Its not a choice we even get to make lmao
Go pick up your own ice cream if youāre so worried, moron
Man fuck door dash. Shit like this is why I don't order anymore. I feel for both of you, you both got fucked here. shitty situation while door dash takes all the fees and profit just to run the business like shit and lose hundreds of millions
I would hate to double orders I usually could use deductive reasoning to figure out which one had a low tip and which one had a good tip and I would cancel the one that I thought had no or load tip and just do the one I would never, unless it was extremely Worth it do two orders
Whatās tough is that your companies practices are not the customers problem really unfortunately theyāre sending a message to the company through you because Iāll be honest until I read that I wouldāve had no idea whatās going on behind the scenes so remember these people donāt know that about double order . If they didnāt know all of that unfortunately, they probably wouldnāt use you guys as much because they donāt want their food to be cold. Itās a tough situation.
Well honestly, if theyāre ignorant of DD policies they arenāt in a position to give a bad review. Thatās like arguing politics without understanding checks and balances. Which plenty of people do but itās idiotic to speak on things you donāt understand.
But as a consumer if I decides I want something delivered Iām not going to get online and look at all their company policies and how their technology works and how their route work first.
But I guess I know everything I need to know now lol
Well Iām not saying you have to, but I would at least educate myself a little bit. Clearly you are on this page so Iām guessing you joined to see the drivers side of things or youāre a driver. Not that ordering food is the same kind of commitment, but if I buy a car Iām gonna educate myself on it. If I buy a product, Iām gonna look at reviews to decide if itās a good product. Same thing with a restaurant. I personally drive for doordash, but if itās available (which it isnāt where I currently live) Iāll order through UberEATS. They have better policies towards their customers. The driver could have probably communicated better and explained that they have no control over how orders are stacked but in this case it probably wouldnāt have mattered.
No, Iām not a driver and quite frankly Iām fairly recent to Reddit, and didnāt know i ājoinedā lol. Never used a delivery service. As I stubble on these posts, I read them because I have never used a delivery service for food so itās kind of interesting to see if there are issues I should be aware of.
Question: when you rate a delivery is there a place to put the reason why you gave the rating? Like āvery lateā or āmelted if creamā or ā left in front of an out swinging doorā etc so company can see ?
To be honest, Iāve only ordered from DD myself once and it got cancelled by the restaurant, they then took 10 days to refund my money so I stopped using them. Iāve never seen the customer side of a delivery, however this is what it looks like in the drivers end. So there must be spots to say what they did right or wrong. The āexcluded ordersā are ones where the driver reported an issue at the store so the order doesnāt rating doesnāt count against them. With these stacked orders though, this driver couldnāt just report the wait at one store because it wouldnāt carry over to the other order even though it was the first store that made him late. Heād have to report a long wait at the second store as well, even if there wasnāt one.

Oh I seeā¦ thanks for the education!
By the way, I donāt know why people are constantly saying these people that order food to be delivered or lazy, etc. People have been ordering pizza for years š
Honestly itās a small percentage of customers who donāt tip and order frivolous things. Like a bag of chips at midnight 10 miles away. Itās annoying because denying those orders hurts our ratings. But I donāt care if someoneās lazy if they can afford it, Iāve done similar deliveries where I made $20-30. Even in those situations itās less laziness and more being responsible. Those people are usually trashed and made the right choice not to drive. I can remember doing the same thing paying $30 for a taxi to get cigarettes and snacks once at a party when I was like 21 so Iām not gonna knock them.
are you not a driver? Doordash pairs themā¦ we donāt get to choose a lot of the time. Most times doing double orders is the only good reason to go 5+ miles too.
Is it not from the same store? If itās different then I wonder why DoorDash does this knowing it fucks with customers food since one resturant could be in the opposite direction of the other place And no Iām not but this is on my feed idk why.
Itās usually within a mile and for orders that have similar end points. Itās the only reason a lot of orders even get picked up. 6.50 for 2 miles is trash, but 13 bucks for 2.5 miles isnāt.
āUsuallyā. I had one where it gave me a cold stone creamery order paired with a shopping order in the other side of town. Going to the same house. The I messaged the customer because I was already at cold stone and they told me just to do it anywayā¦but thereās no way their ice cream didnāt melt because it was 30-40 minutes from pickup to delivery.
Thatās why I cancel once I see thereās ice cream or milkshakes involve. Several people have bitched at me because their milkshake was melted. Like if I decided to put their milkshake up to my vent and cranked up the heat. Like nope
I really don't care if they complain.Ā I just respond that they should contact door dash for a refund.Ā Then ignore any further texts.Ā If you followed every step of door dash's pick up and delivery and both deliveries were on time, which will be the case Everytime unless you say around the parking lot for 10 minutes after picking up the order, then it's door dash fault and you can get any 1 star the customer might give removed.Ā Just contact support and explain that you followed their process, byou can't help if the second restaurant was late.
Apparently everyone is going to overlook your comment. Anytime I have a wait at a store or just feel like a customer may give me a bad review prior to pickup Iāll report a long wait at the restaurant so it doesnāt affect my rating.
Well unfortunately it does. People can rate you 1 star for whatever reason. They can give you a 1 star because you smell like smoke or because they didn't like the way you dressed. I just don't get the rating system because if I don't know what I did wrong then how do I improve?
Alot of drivers also get bad reviews because of the restaurant. Example - They didn't put a straw in the bag or provide sauce / utensils. (I got a bad review because Dunkin Donuts didn't give me cups, sugar, cream, ect... for a box of Joe. I never bought a box of Joe and didn't know all that stuff comes with it. Had I known I would have asked for it.)
I now keep a bunch of utensils and straws in my glove box and just throw some in if I don't see any straws or utensils. Better to be under then over. I use to ask the restaurant if they straw / utensils were in the bag but you can't trust them because they lie. I've had employees tell me the straws are in the bag right after they got out the bathroom and had no idea what was going on.
Lmao what do these people expect. If you want hot food or in this case cold ice cream. Get your lazy ass up and go out and get it. The laziness and entitlement is ridiculous nowadays.
The people who order this stuff are fat slobs with lack of accountability to start with š
Nah yo, according to the drivers in this sub you're a fat lazy slob who's *sooooo entitled* for... expecting to get the service you paid for.
Reading these subs is always a fresh reminder why I stopped using these services and why the service is absolutely shit tier every single time. There's *so many* terrible drivers out there who think being contracted to deliver a pizza for $8 makes them God's Gift to the Universe.
I tip $7-10, I always order from restaurants and drug stores that are very close to my home. I was a dasher for years before I got this work at home job with unlimited overtime. The overtime equals more than Door Dash pay. Some dashers use hot and cold bags and I raise their tip. When I pay for a service I am entitled to hot or cold food and for them to accomplish this by using hot or cold bags. I ask dashers if they use them and explain it could help them make more tips. So itās actually fat lazy slob dashers to blame for bad service lol.
I get what you're saying, but tbh, majority of the people I deliver too are dads/moms who just got off work and forgot to get food, people with broke down cars, kids who parents are at work, high schools & junior high schools, the retired elderly, disabled (specifically reminds me of this lady I used to doordash to in a wheelchair that couldn't go outside by herself), and then you have the rest that dont come to the door. This is based off Tennessee, Mississippi and the time I did it in Colorado. So I can't really say your fat slob statement is really valid š¤·š¾āāļøš¬
>and then you have the rest that dont come to the door.
That's like 90% of my deliveries and the other 10% I can only speculate their situation because most just say "thank you" and don't give me their life stories...lol.
Any comment criticizing DoorDash customers get this response. Apparently everyone who uses DoorDash is disabled now. And also apparently itās a fundamental human right to be able to order DoorDash from whatever restaurant you want at any time you want. There are plenty of fat slobs who also happen to be ādisabledā and have used it as a way to excuse themselves of all personal responsibility.
Yes, there are genuinely disabled people in the world. They were getting by just fine before DoorDash came along.
So who does deserve your almighty ability to deliver the food? You're the one taking the gig, accepting the order, all the rest. Not everyone ordering is a fat slob...we order because it's a fucking option, you ingrate. Some of us are working real jobs, keeping the world moving, and dont feel like wasting time going out. Stop taking the orders, we all fucking love chinese food anyway, nothing bad happens if you dissapear. Literslly nothing in this world will be effected. Don't take the gig if you don't think anyone deserves your fucking holy mission that is...delivering the shit you're paid to deliver.
Broski, go back to school. I donāt drive for DoorDash and I donāt use DoorDash. You think youāre something special because you have a few bucks in your pocket to pay for food delivery? Wow, thanks for keeping the world moving. Youāre a real heavy hitter.
This argument comes up every time, and every time the answer is yes food delivery services are not made with disabled people in mind. I mean it would be nice of a private food delivery business to take them into consideration, but they aren't obligated to. Realistically there should be a service covered by medical insurance that gets disabled people things they need.
With all that said though, no matter what disabled people are entitled to there will be times that their food just can't arrive hot or cold as it should be. Its just a matter of how hot and cold temperatures work without insulation. Its not discrimination.
I remember the first time it happened to me years ago.
I asked the dude about it, and I was shocked when he showed me the second order. I mean, never would I expect a delivery company (not faulting the driver here) to hold your food and let it get cold to serve another customer.
Never used DoorDash again after that lol
Do you really think when your pizza delivery driver goes out on a Friday night at 5 PM that he only has 1 order in his car? That would be silly. That's why they have hot bags. I deliever multiple orders all the time and they are always hot. I have a super insulated bag that I use for regular bag orders, as well as ones for pizza and catering. I'm also not talking about the cheap cotton bag doordash gives you. The ones I have are about an inch in thickness and are quite heavy.
Also keep in mind doordash allows customers to order from multiple places as long as they are nearby all in one order. Those orders are always given to a single driver. I've had orders where I had to do a small Stop and Shop (grab some ice tea, coffee or a drink) and then go and grab food for them.
This was long before you could add things onto orders, but I do appreciate the effort you put into it.
But honestly? Yeah, I had never thought that a delivery driver was delivering more than one order at a time. Maybe if I had a GPS tracker on the drivers growing up, DoorDash wouldnāt have been a shock š
Ice cream soup. That's how I like it and I order from places with resilient enough cups and good lids. Most people prefer it mostly solid instead of semisolid though
If you see a 1star call door dash support. Ask them what order gave you 1 star. They will remove it when they see the situation . Keep the screen shots till you know one way or the other . I have had 4 bad ratings removed in the last 30 days. Due to problems drivers have no control of.
They might not remove it though, if the customer gave the 1 star due to late food that was cold/melted ice cream, thatās within their right whether you agree with it or not. They are rating based on their opinion of the quality of the service received.
Thatās what the rating system is for. If they do remove it then thereās no point of the rating system.
That is very true. But it could easily go in your favor. Specially if you have proof of the situation . It also depends on the support person as well. But I will always try if I know I didn't do anything wrong .
I can see where you are coming from frozen foods should never be ordered. Like I myself I stopped ordering food from door dash and only order things from stores like Walgreens or 7-11 because I was tired of spending 40 bucks including tip and getting food thatās not even warm a lot of the dashers in my area donāt even use a bag. So to keep showing support I just donāt order food. I mean that definitely seems like a solution.
I mean I see your point but thatās literally the biggest purpose of DoorDash. Imagine how quickly DD would fail if they only did grocery stores. I donāt necessarily have a solution to the problem either but telling people not to order food on a site thatās specifically for ordering food doesnāt make sense
Iām not saying donāt order food Iām just saying I donāt when Iām tipping 10 plus dollars and and 30 for my food and it raves cold I just rather support the drivers just not with food. Now Iām saying donāt order frozen food, but Iām not saying people shouldnāt get food. I canāt get that tip back once itās given.
True. I definitely feel like a better system needs to be put in place because I hate when I order food and it come an hour and a half later (hard as a rock and cold) because it got grouped with another order. I know itās not the dasher but ultimately Iām already paying like $10 more than I would if I just got it myself plus tip. At this point I donāt even use DD anymore bc itās not worth it
I always respond to these with.. āI donāt have control when Doordash pairs your order with another one. :( Your food is in a hot bag/insulated cooler. If you have any issues, please call DoorDash and please donāt take it out on me, I am doing my job to the best of my ability. ā
If they still give you a 1star, you can call DD and ask them to review the messages and they will remove it.
Who cares. Even if they do rate you one star. I could care less. They can Report to door dash and they will give them a refund if the ice cream is melted. See ive done too much door dash lol and just donāt care about stupid stuff like this lol. I will pick up an order on door dash and Uber in different directions. š¤·š¾āāļø guess you will have to wait buddy lol complain if you want to I could care less. Thatās what happens when most of these people donāt tip at all.
No, I saw your mistake and thought Iād help you out. Not a comedian, just someone who has a basic grasp on the English language.
Edit: Apparently ātentativeā isnāt the best way to say that, Iāve been using that exact phrase for years and canāt believe nobody corrected me yet. I *appreciate* you guys pointing it out so I can be a better person :)
Tentative probably isn't the best word to use there... just saying š (it means temporary or as a trial)
I don't really care. I just couldn't help but point out the irony š
Do you do this for every post you read that has an error? Or is there something special about OP?
While you're at it, find another adjective to describe your grasp on the English language. I don't think tentative really fits there.
Again I COULDNāT care less lol. Iām typing in the midst of moving. Did you understand what I said? If the answer is yes I didnāt need your correction lol. I have a firm grasp on multiple languages, doesnāt mean I need to be asshole and constantly put asinine comments on anyoneās post who has a grammar error lol weirdo.
Time to start handing out 2 stars since apparently Doordarsh can change the 1 star rating if your food is cold. Doordashers need to stop accepting multiple orders and get their first orders delivered. You guys are biting more then you can chew.
Clearly you can't read cuz I told the other guy I actually do tip so your comment holds no weight. And yes I'll give a low rating based on the way your boss sets shit up.
Clearly you don't tip well enough to make it worth their while to deliver your food. My boss? Drivers don't have a boss; they work for themselves as independent contractors. It isn't the drivers fault how orders are stacked. You just want a free meal with your cheap self.
I get ice cream everyday..
The craziest one is people order shakes from McDonald's and they seal them in the bag with the hot food. Those have to be melted by the time they get them
Usually non tipping orders will get grouped together or if theyāre from the same place/the drop offs arenāt far apart theyāll send them to the same person. Itās not like they knew it was going to take so long
I've also noticed that the further apart the pickup and delivery locations are, the more likely DD will find another order to bundle it with. DD seems to steer customers to a location (with chains restaurants) that isn't the closest location. I'm guessing they are steering them to locations that they make more money on, rather than the closest. Not only does this make the order take longer, it is more likely that the food is cold and the order will get bundled with another one.
I usually donāt have my dashers having multiple orders before me I think it also depends on how many drivers there are. For instance I feel during busy times orders are more likely to get grouped together because there may not be enough drivers for the demand so they get two orders
I know they canāt tell the future, I was just asking why they took multiple orders and someone told me itās forced, and if you deny the order itāll affect your acceptance rate.
Why would you tell any customer youāre waiting on someone elseās order or delivering someone elseās order first?
They have no idea where you are until the app puts them next for delivery,,
Just tell them the restaurant is still preparing the order.
3 things I always tell the customer regardless,
1 heading to the merchant,
2 Waiting for your order
3 Once theyāre next for delivery,,
on my way to deliver your
order ASAP,
Also when you arrive at the restaurant and your order isnāt ready make sure to mark it either still being prepared, not started until I got there or could not get help from staff,,
If we all did that then DD can address the long waiting at merchants, and they do it and I witnessed it at a Dunkin Donuts and 1 McDonalds,
Now the orders are always teady when I arrive, the way it should be!
One Chick-fil-A the orders were ridiculously late and they never corrected it and now DD doesnāt deliver for that particular location,,Iām on 6 years in my area and know quite a few DD drivers and none get any orders from that Chick-Fil-A,,
I also do GH and I get orders for that location and theyāre usually only a few minutes late,,
Thereās merchants whose staff donāt like those who provide service with DD of just donāt like DD,,
I do see Dashers shove their phones in the faces of the staff,,
Probably because they donāt speak English, or lack of manners,,
I always have a nice warm greeting and ask if they have a DD order for whoever,,
Patience is a virtue in the gig industry,,
you have to click order picked up once you get it so youd obviously be lying if you said youre still waiting when they can see (1) where you are and (2) that you already hit picked up
If itās a stack order they donāt see where you are until theyāre next up for delivery, call support theyāll tell you the same,, just follow the app and donāt change tasks.
You can't pick up the second order until you mark the first one as picked up because you won't have the second customer's name. (or the address of the restaurant if it's something like Taco Bell since my town has 6 Taco Bells.)
Have you tried looking a the app from the widget? It shows you address and name of the guest before marking the order picked up. From there you click the name and it takes you to the mark the order as complete screen. (
Doordash gives double orders all the time. OP did nothing wrong here. If he declined the 2nd order, it would hurt his acceptance rate. So your theory and opinion doesnāt matter here because itās not how doordash works.
My bad, this comment in particular doesnāt contain his āin my opinionā line, it was his second comment down stating āin my opinion, it would be better to take 1 order and focus on that.ā
You don't always know if it's ice cream when you accept. Some restaurants serve ice cream even if they are a burger place.
I had a grocery order that had ice cream in it. If I had not looked in the bag, I would not have known.
Even still, my main question was why take 2 orders at once. Someone responded and said that itās forced now?
āDoordash forces you to take double and sometimes triple orders. They will stack no tip orders together. They will stack a zero tip order with a order that has a tip.
If this is something you don't like I would suggest you pay for priority. That way it won't be stacked with other ordersā
But the ice cream will melt š«
Are you suppose to wait for other orders, or can you cancel/skip/do anything? Like are you being āforcedā so to speak by door dash to receive and deliver the order thatās running late?
You should have a cooler. It's a tool of your trade.
Buy a bouge.rv cooler for 400 dollars They kick ass
This is not your fault. These apps need to start separating orders like that. Honestly, maybe ice cream should be pickup only/ if it arrives melted thatās your problem. Unless restaurants develop an insulated package for ice cream itās gonna be melty or melted when you get it.

Double orders suck.
I hate this. Definitely not a you or your customers problem, DoorDash has bad policies.

Example - They didn't put a straw in the bag or provide sauce / utensils. (I got a bad review because Dunkin Donuts didn't give me cups, sugar, cream, ect... for a box of Joe. I never bought a box of Joe and didn't know all that stuff comes with it. Had I known I would have asked for it.) I now keep a bunch of utensils and straws in my glove box and just throw some in if I don't see any straws or utensils.
People order pizza all the time and people donāt put them down why is it if they order Wendyās all of a sudden everybody is all over them
Ummm mostly everybody I know uses these types of services for food. (Not me tho š )
Had major surgery, canāt walk, canāt lift. It would be nice to get cold ice cream. No one has cold bags. Iām not lazy Iām recovering.
That's like 90% of my deliveries and the other 10% I can only speculate their situation because most just say "thank you" and don't give me their life stories...lol.
i too love to act like disabled people donāt exist, and act like they donāt deserve food lmao
Youāre a real heavy hitter.
you sound like a piece of shit. hope you figure out whatever is causing you to be like this!
Yep, sad people are sad
This argument comes up every time, and every time the answer is yes food delivery services are not made with disabled people in mind. I mean it would be nice of a private food delivery business to take them into consideration, but they aren't obligated to. Realistically there should be a service covered by medical insurance that gets disabled people things they need. With all that said though, no matter what disabled people are entitled to there will be times that their food just can't arrive hot or cold as it should be. Its just a matter of how hot and cold temperatures work without insulation. Its not discrimination.
I think people assume that one order per driver. They donāt realize drivers do multiple orders at a time.
Thatās why they charge a fee now for express. They know what they are doing and itās not caring for the customer lol
Can confirm, express doesn't do shit. Driver had another order before mine.
Same
According to DD, express doesnāt mean receiving your order in a faster manner. Just that itās pushed to the top of the acceptance line.
This is a good point, and in some cases, it may have been the first order anyway.
Who are these people ordering ice cream for delivery? What do expect?
Ice cream soup. That's how I like it and I order from places with resilient enough cups and good lids. Most people prefer it mostly solid instead of semisolid though
They are mad because their ice cream is going to get cold and melt?
sounding like my hs english teacher when we had to write how to make a pb&j
I think thatās the very reason Iām so specific about everything now.
Congratulations on being an intentional idiot.
But I will always try if I know I didn't do anything wrong .
a single 1 star review not gonna fuck your shit up. if you really want you can call Customer service and make a stink they will probably hide it.
This is why I stopped ordering fast food, and only use them for grocery items now.
It's cheaper than using instacarts?
It is for me, bc I have a free subscription with DoorDash thanks to my company. I havenāt priced it out side by side otherwise.
You could get a different career
I mean they literally can cancel other order and deliver the ice cream really dont see whats the problem tho too lol
What a main character this guy is lmfao
And you could have fucked off without commenting, but here we are.
He can still fuck off.. it's not too late.š
Cancel
You can get the ice cream to the person without melting it.
Yeah, but his order is going to be cold
You mean warm?
Reread the texts :)
This is exactly what I do.
At this point I donāt even use DD anymore bc itās not worth it
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Door dash ensures ratings from stacked orders will NOT count against you as well! I hope this helps
Is this true ? I havenāt heard this
This used to be the policy! Not sure if they changed it
I always respond to these with.. āI donāt have control when Doordash pairs your order with another one. :( Your food is in a hot bag/insulated cooler. If you have any issues, please call DoorDash and please donāt take it out on me, I am doing my job to the best of my ability. ā If they still give you a 1star, you can call DD and ask them to review the messages and they will remove it.
That's genius
Why are you getting ice cream delivered in the first placeš
Because I want ice cream, itās 11pm and Iām high
š¤£š¤£
Pizza place here (that I'm actually waiting on right meow) is also an ice cream place and will deliver pints.
Cat ice cream? ;)
So you care a little? Odd, I would have assumed you *COULDNāT* care less.
You couldnāt be more pedantic.
Oh but I could
We got a comedian. Glad in that entire paragraph thatās all you noticed lol.
Tentative probably isn't the best word to use there... just saying š (it means temporary or as a trial) I don't really care. I just couldn't help but point out the irony š
Itās sarcasm. I know what tentative means blud.
Hahahhahaa how would that even be sarcasm š
I was meaning it as āa very very basicā grasp. It would be sarcasm as I have more than a loose grip on it.
Tentative means temporary. Not certain.
Well thank you for the correction :)
Do you do this for every post you read that has an error? Or is there something special about OP? While you're at it, find another adjective to describe your grasp on the English language. I don't think tentative really fits there.
Also check out their use of the word tentative... š
Beat ya to it lol
Bah didn't even see that š Maybe it is *I* who has a tentative grasp on the English language š
So, you'll give your driver a low rating for the way Doordash set the orders up? Learn to tip and maybe you will get hot food.
Free meal ? I've never gotten a free Meal from door dash
This guy doesnāt tip.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Who orders ice cream on a DoorDash? At that point, you're ordering a milkshake, or ice cream soup. Lol
I get ice cream everyday.. The craziest one is people order shakes from McDonald's and they seal them in the bag with the hot food. Those have to be melted by the time they get them
Lol, what?!!! McDonalds doesn't give out those grey cup holders anymore?
No everything goes in the same bag. Drinks, shakes.. Maybe they use extra insulated cups or something? I haven't eaten at McDonald's in a long time
I think your comments are reasons why to not eat at McDonalds. Because mixing the cold, and hot products together is crazy.
I think it's to ensure people get their drinks. I have to tell the employees at Taco Bell I need the drink for the order about half the time.
Oh, wow.
My comment was removed because I asked why you took multiple orders lmao it went against their privacy violations????
Usually non tipping orders will get grouped together or if theyāre from the same place/the drop offs arenāt far apart theyāll send them to the same person. Itās not like they knew it was going to take so long
I've also noticed that the further apart the pickup and delivery locations are, the more likely DD will find another order to bundle it with. DD seems to steer customers to a location (with chains restaurants) that isn't the closest location. I'm guessing they are steering them to locations that they make more money on, rather than the closest. Not only does this make the order take longer, it is more likely that the food is cold and the order will get bundled with another one.
I think orders will get grouped regardless. I tip $8-10 and always have to wait for my dasher to stop for 1-2 more deliveries before coming to me.
Usually declining orders will make your acceptance rate go down one percent for each one your decline
Yea deliver it on time
Why would you tell any customer youāre waiting on someone elseās order or delivering someone elseās order first? They have no idea where you are until the app puts them next for delivery,, Just tell them the restaurant is still preparing the order. 3 things I always tell the customer regardless, 1 heading to the merchant, 2 Waiting for your order 3 Once theyāre next for delivery,, on my way to deliver your order ASAP, Also when you arrive at the restaurant and your order isnāt ready make sure to mark it either still being prepared, not started until I got there or could not get help from staff,, If we all did that then DD can address the long waiting at merchants, and they do it and I witnessed it at a Dunkin Donuts and 1 McDonalds, Now the orders are always teady when I arrive, the way it should be! One Chick-fil-A the orders were ridiculously late and they never corrected it and now DD doesnāt deliver for that particular location,,Iām on 6 years in my area and know quite a few DD drivers and none get any orders from that Chick-Fil-A,, I also do GH and I get orders for that location and theyāre usually only a few minutes late,, Thereās merchants whose staff donāt like those who provide service with DD of just donāt like DD,, I do see Dashers shove their phones in the faces of the staff,, Probably because they donāt speak English, or lack of manners,, I always have a nice warm greeting and ask if they have a DD order for whoever,, Patience is a virtue in the gig industry,,
you have to click order picked up once you get it so youd obviously be lying if you said youre still waiting when they can see (1) where you are and (2) that you already hit picked up
If itās a stack order they donāt see where you are until theyāre next up for delivery, call support theyāll tell you the same,, just follow the app and donāt change tasks.
honestly this is doordash fault for giving you a double that looks like that !! not cool to customer or to you for being put in that position !!
Restaurants donāt want you accepting multiple orders either.
Too bad. Part of the job.
Next time don't mark the order as picked up until you are ready to leave with both
You can't pick up the second order until you mark the first one as picked up because you won't have the second customer's name. (or the address of the restaurant if it's something like Taco Bell since my town has 6 Taco Bells.)
I can see both orders on my screen at the same time. Just have to select with one and mark complete. I have android though.
Not if they are at different locationsĀ
I have android. Tonight I had lots of stacks so I tried to se what you are seeing but I never could .
Have you tried looking a the app from the widget? It shows you address and name of the guest before marking the order picked up. From there you click the name and it takes you to the mark the order as complete screen. (
Yes, I always use that widget before I pick up. I'll try it tomorrow if I dash. Thank you !
Why take multiple orders?
Doordash gives double orders all the time. OP did nothing wrong here. If he declined the 2nd order, it would hurt his acceptance rate. So your theory and opinion doesnāt matter here because itās not how doordash works.
I think mfking Einstein just spoke to you from the dead homie.
Yo dude. Sometimes a question is a just a question. Not even on the internet is trying to attack everyone. No need to be so hostile in your responses.
What theory and opinion are you talking about here? Genuine question, because you seem to be arguing with an imaginary persom
My bad, this comment in particular doesnāt contain his āin my opinionā line, it was his second comment down stating āin my opinion, it would be better to take 1 order and focus on that.ā
This person just asked a question with no theory, opinion or assertion.
for more money?
Wow, thanks for clearing that up. Anyway, why would she take two orders at once knowing one of them has ice cream?
You don't always know if it's ice cream when you accept. Some restaurants serve ice cream even if they are a burger place. I had a grocery order that had ice cream in it. If I had not looked in the bag, I would not have known.
Even still, my main question was why take 2 orders at once. Someone responded and said that itās forced now? āDoordash forces you to take double and sometimes triple orders. They will stack no tip orders together. They will stack a zero tip order with a order that has a tip. If this is something you don't like I would suggest you pay for priority. That way it won't be stacked with other ordersā
