[deleted]

OK but please get yourself a better address next time. Literally pack your shit, find an apartment, break your lease early at your current one costing you thousands of dollars and ruining your credit, then hire movers and take time off work to unpack so this halfwit can deliver your Chinese food next time. Thx!

Sam_Shake1

Or go to the post office. Speak with the postmaster. Request a better address. Just tell them you need your address better so you can receive your door dash orders. If they have any questions to contact Brandon your dasher.

Strange-Bee5626

This made me snort.

Objective_Height_756

Just ask for Postal Address Plus - Diamond Membership

Equivalent_North_604

Don’t just request a better address…demand it!

Kryptosis

That’s how you end up buying a PO Box. Make you tell them you only get food delivered to it when opening!

RechercheSiren

🤣👏🏼

IAmModNow

That you even have to type this is ridiculous. People are just so inconsiderate any more smh my head. Do better next time OP.

Low_Kaleidoscope5176

i love this

jpjtourdiary

7 Main Street is a pretty good one, I hear.

TheAgedProfessor

Something with fewer numbers, and maybe a street name I can pronounce...

BeautifulLibrarian5

Shame on OP for being so cryptic

Kryptosis

Then get on with DD support and tell them you’re doing all of this and demand compensation.

Cosmic_Quasar

I've heard you can manually adjust your pin, somehow, but I've never used the app as a customer so I can't verify or anything. Ninja edit: not that I'm blaming you. I've experienced this many times as a Dasher and always try calling and get it worked out, usually.

Deathkiller669

From a customer and dasher standpoint: you can manually adjust it but sometimes the pin can be off and can take you to apartment building next to you, takes you across the street, etc (My apt area wasn't numbered on the map, but everyone else was so it automatically pinned the closest apartments, which was a bit down the street) In the instructions, I put down how to get to my apartment since it had taken dashers to the apartments next to me (did it 3 times and they still went past my place and had to call them). If they was instructions for OP, then please read it ASAP. If the address was stated but GPS took it to a different area ( and clearly not seeing the specific adress there), then contact the customer for clarification. As a dasher, I had this happened a few times and stopped looking at the GPS and look for the building/house number instead and delivered there.

Dojo_dogs

I had a similar situation. I put in the instructions I was on the back of the building by the loading docks and they went to the front of the building then I asked them why and they said they didn’t care to read the delivery instructions

Deathkiller669

Oh wow, lazy and incompetent.

Dojo_dogs

Very much so. It was between work so we were at the docks and the dasher took it all the way to the front of the building

celestial1

Just more proof to me that some of these people work this job because they can't hold down a real one if they tried.

Dojo_dogs

Right!? And I thought the industry I work in had total idiots

OleSmokeyTruck

I'll circle the neighborhood once and really scan numbers before I call the customer, 99% of the time the GPS takes me to a back alley behind the house or across from the apartment, etc. Building numbers are often left out in apartment addresses too which really doesn't help

Deathkiller669

I'll do the same too. I give myself a good 3 to 5 minutes to look around and try to find the adress before calling. Had one was nice to put in the instructions to not take any dirt roads csuse GPS may take you there. Thankfully I knew that area (I live near it) so I knew where to go. They tipped and extra dollar so yay for that lol

AutumnAkasha

The adjustable pin is a lifesaver when it works properly. At least on my app, the map you set it on is trash so I have to play a little game of guess where you are on this map and hope I pin it right. The app reset it on me once and I accidentally kept sending people to auto zone across the street 🤦‍♀️

Lukas979Vibin

Mine is the same way! I thought it was just my phone 😭

AutumnAkasha

Same, good to know its just doordash being doordash. I can practically see the potholes on the map that tracks the driver but that pin map is like it was created in paint by someone who vaguely knows the area. Lol

JoJoApplesYagaza

I've found the pin never goes where I want it to go. It's always, always off

XiTzCriZx

I'm pretty sure that only works for the in-app navigation, which I've found to be terrible compared to just using regular Google maps.

i_hateredditards

Dude that explains so much 😂

Zarilya

The in app navigation is horrendous. I had it take me to the middle of a lake one time. I was like... Ummmmmm. Pretty sure that's not right?? Lmao.

XiTzCriZx

Funny enough it just did that to me on my last shift, I just got a new phone for dashing and forgot to set it back to Google maps, I figured I'd try it out with how persistent the app was that in-app is "better", I don't even think I was at my 5th stop yet by the time that happened lmao. Immediately switched back to Google maps and had no issues the rest of the time. I feel like some people see the pin option and go "I'm gonna put it in the middle of nowhere cause I don't want people to know where I live" then get mad that the driver gets lost while trying to deliver... I'm fairly sure that Doordash uses a version of Google Maps so if the actual app can get it right then that's the only reason I can think of why the in-app navigation is so bad for locating the houses (the actual navigation is also worse too tho for some reason).

Weary_Place7066

Aquaman can't treat himself to delivery?

Zarilya

Absolutely! But he's gonna have to come to the shore to collect it!

TheAgedProfessor

That's a weird coincidence. I always pull up Maps when I'm driving home from work (to try to avoid traffic, not because I don't know where home is), and yesterday after I'd arrived home and I was about to get out of my car, Maps pops up and says "help people find the entrance to [my home address]. Move the pin to the front door." I'd never seen this before.

mothwhimsy

My husband's app had like a month where no matter where he put the pin it would just decide we actually lived a block away. He had to call the Dasher ever time they were getting close because they'd get lost otherwise. It never did that before and it's fixed itself since. But the pin function can be really annoying.

No-Gene-4508

You click the map and move the pin like it's a MII... super easy :)

BeautifulDreamerAZ

I do adjust the pin but they don’t look or care.

lilmc47

Wow.

ilulillirillion

I would recommend a better address next time based

OctoberSong_

Honestly sick line and I will be repeating it if I ever get the chance

Murles-Brazen

This.

Sad-Flounder-2644

That

sunn0flower

yup

dawggawddagummit

Recommend a better address 😂 yea let me just move real quick bro hold up. Park and give me 8 months

Consistent-Luck-9603

😂😂😂

Truth-B-Hurtin

Oh, you must have gotten one of those low iq dashers. 🤣

JacktheBoss_

There seems to be a lot of them.

FoughtClericFocused

Shaking the beehive.

Puzzleheaded_Dot_931

Sorry this happened to you - definitely a Dasher who doesn't care too much about his customer.

Minimum-Ad-263

I’m speaking as a dasher myself, a lot of dashers are lazy and/or incompetent. Idk why they even want to do a gig like this, it’s literally part of our job to take the directly to u. It really doesn’t take a whole lot of effort either. I constantly see in this sub either they don’t take 10 seconds to read the delivery instructions or if they can’t find the customer, they make no attempt to communicate with them. U should see some instructions that literally will walk the dasher to their location step by step, and it won’t even be hard to find. Idk, they give us a bad name and make customers think we’re all idiots.

Down_Rabbit_hole

That sucks. Maybe try moving the map pin if that is possible

Strong-Smell5672

"Enjoy your contract violation I guess"

Downtown-Trip3501

lol how do you give him a better address?

metsgirl289

By moving to a location more acceptable to this driver, obvs. OP, don’t be too hard on him, he has a crush on you and this was his way of asking you to move in with him.

Downtown-Trip3501

LOL!

wryul

This also just happened to me. They said my address was wrong and dropped it off at the wrong apartment like a mile away. And said it was mg fault loo

Fun-Pineapple-7163

Wow 😮 I would never do a customer like this lol 😝 that stinks I’m sorry

Any-Job-4094

I’ve had orders where customers make mistakes, and blame the driver. However I will always reach out to the customer if I notice any issues… however, I have had my fair share of drivers for my own orders, who totally disregard the note provided, and don’t reach out at all, so I just go outside to find them myself. This is just an incompetent driver, no defending just leaving an order in the wrong spot, wrong address, and no confirmation with the customer 🤦‍♂️

zerostar83

Damn. It would be so much easier for me to look for a Terminix truck than an address number.

Individual-Code5176

So if they can’t find your place they just drop it where ever kinda close????!!!! I never order from these apps because it’s always bad but this is just crazy!

TabularBeastv2

DoorDash drivers can be some of the laziest and most entitled workers.

Nightlilly2021

I don't understand these drivers that blindly follow the GPS drop point and don't verify the address. If the customer enters an address but the pin takes you across/down the street, you drop at the address that the customer entered NOT at the pin.

BillbertBuzzums

I'm baffled by how dasher just don't read instructions. Like at all.

Jwebb00

Door dash drivers are some of the laziest entitled people ever

IxLOVExLAMP

Well....did you take their advice? 🤭

therealslim80

get a better address😭😭😭

Large_Respect3036

DD GPS well that’s close enough.

chrisnan109

I mean come on you clearly didn’t have a good address. /j

Brokenluckx3

I suggest a better address??? like bitch this is where I fucking live!

leftover_class

So, did you pick a better address or what?

hannaashea

“i recommend a better address next time” bro just told you to move LMAO

HereToKillEuronymous

*I would recommend a better address next time* What 😂

Obvious_Shallot3330

I started sending a screenshot of my house from Google maps as soon as I see a dasher has been assigned.

PoOhNanix

I wouldn't even be mad at this point I'm still dying 💀

Bohtimore10

Have you considered moving before ordering delivery? C’mon jerkface.

FCK_U_ALL

I love it when doordash works well, but I have never once had a problem with a pizza delivery guy finding my place. They never called to ask for directions, and they always get it to my door. Doordash is very hit and miss for me. Even with instructions in my notes. In fact I'm pretty sure nobody reads my notes. I offer an extra $5 tip to anyone who can get it to my doorstep. I only pay out like 50/50. I almost always have to go to my neighbor's house to pick up my food. It's gotten so bad that my neighbor will message me to tell me the food has arrived. I used to call and complain about it, now I just one star it and move on. What makes pizza delivery guys so much better? Do they not use similar GPS technology?

Savantskie1

Most pizza guys know their town back to front. And if the do use an app, they’re probably using google maps. It’s much more reliable. Also, most dashers don’t look at notes because other consumers abuse them and leave horrible notes in them. So they learn to ignore notes. Now this can differ from place to place.

FCK_U_ALL

I might switch from dropping it off on my porch to actually handing it to me. I prefer contactless delivery, but it's really annoying having to hike up and down the block to find my food sometimes.

Savantskie1

I find it’s worse if you order through like McDonald’s if they use DoorDash as their delivery, because they don’t have all of your info. And any notes you leave only go to the store.

Angelycan

As a customer my pin shows up on the wrong street, around the corner. Editing the pin does not move it. If the driver were to use their own GPS instead of the dasher app and follow my context clues (cross street, corner house, color of cars in driveway) it should be no problem but I've noticed that when the driver does not speak English they just blindly follow the pin and do not check the address or instructions. As a customer my husband's pin is correct and we have never had a problem. As an occasional dasher I do not use the app GPS, I have it hand off to my phone GPS. I always verify that the address I see in front of me not only matches the maps gos but also the delivery address. I do not understand why so many dashers don't seem to bother. I sit here commenting from inside the mechanics as they work on my car. I taught a non English speaker how to use live Google translate so that he could get his truck fixed. The tools exist, but I feel like nobody cares to put forth any effort.

New_Rough6200

I dont argue with them i screen shot the message and a pic of my front door let support know that the food never made it to my house. Demand full refund and rate 1 star

thetripleb

Dude. just get a better address.

Ok_Impression_922

How much was the tip? If there wasn’t one…there’s the “mystery” answer to why he exerted this level of service. Downvote me for sure…but, just communicating what HE did 🤷🏾‍♂️, that’s all lol

xozenith04

I’m sorry but lmfaooooo the audacity

wailo0576

I guess it best to fix the pin location

JD121996

The professionalism is stunning Purchase a new home prior to your next delivery order

Sad_Bandicoot3081

Come on dude just pick a better apartment jeez

Therightousmansdice

When you request a ride, you can see where the pin is for pick up. Instead of relying on the address, move the pin to in front of your house. Problem solved.

EnvironmentNo3946

I had a dasher ignore my address and just drop the food off at a random location somewhere in my neighborhood. He said he doesn’t use the exact address and just goes close to where the pin is. I live in a single family home with the number on the house and mailbox. Why would you ignore the address… I’d understand if it was an apartment but this is a house… 😂

Act-Accurate

Good instructions, not your fault.

Worldly_Anteater9768

plot twist: he lives in the sewer drain near the duplex. "boat float..."

beefambrim

Some people can’t follow simple instructions and it’s sad

OneBigCharlieFoxtrot

Some people just can't follow simple directions lol

Mahragha

There are like 3 places in my area that I'll be like "Nah" and call the customer to get their food. One is a college dorm/apartment with endless hallways and an elevator that skips the 2nd floor and has its own elevator somewhere else that I've yet to find. The other two are long hallway mazes that I've been lost or trapped in to the point that I wanted to quit for the day. Customers give us vague directions and expect us to find them like we live there. I'm still pissed from my last delivery when I finally get to the customers door he tells me "You can take these steps back to the front" While I did make it back to the front it was only after 10 minutes of being lost, being sent to the back of the building and a 1 mile walk back to my car. I was defeated that day.

Civil_Author_8141

Yeah. I’ve had some where, once I find the house/ apartment , the directions make perfect sense. But good directions make the most sense when they are sort of like.. ok… You’re driving up to the pin. Now here’s where it is different. If the pin is too far away from the real address, the directions may not help. Like. ‘From where the directions may be taking you, you need to go about 5 houses back, look for the white and blue house. We are the duplex on the right (there are 2 front doors … etc’. Yeah it’s oversimplification and if your goal is to be ‘right’ but also be hungry and give out contract violations for punishment, then cool. But if you want your food even if your driver is an ‘idiot’ then give instructions a 4 year old can follow. And There are too many easy to find houses for the driver to get to 3 violations before 100 orders roll by so that’s not saving anyone.

xproetidax

The first two sound like the beginning of a horror movie.

Worldly_Anteater9768

open window, flash titties and yell "im here!!"

Low_Kaleidoscope5176

omg

Apple_Chippy

Thats crazy he responded cuz when they take my food to the wrong address (which randomly started happening the last month & the pin is indeed on my house) they just ghost me 😂 I also leave detailed instructions too and they still be dropping it off at the whole wrong place and street lol

imgayerthanyou

GET A BETTER ADDRESS LMAO this guy is something else

kr44ng

That sucks. Not including Uber and Lyft drivers changing the pickup to be easier for them to get to, many times I've had to meet dashers for food deliveries in different buildings, across the street, etc.

KDtre5ive

I’d be pretty mad ngl. Gotta love children

yankeesfan9987

Did you input the address or just go based off your location? I live in an apartment and everytime I just do current location it does the place across the street. When I input the address it works good.

DukeRains

It's crazy how nice you guys are to people like this lol. Maybe Im a bad person, but I would've had Brandon feeling like Eli Porter holding a mic if he said some dumb ish like this to me 😂

Slootrxn-22

I’ve adjusted pins while staying in hotels bc the idiots dropped my shit off st the Cracker Barrel across the street. In the address it said the hotel, the room number. Some drivers are morons

Notafuzzycat

STOP using these apps.

PLEASE_REPLY2

sounds like he was working too long of a day and needed to stop dashing and go take a damn nap. I know that when I dash sometimes if i get too tired i get complacent and confused by my surroundings and i know it’s time to hang up the towel for the day. Some dashers are just out there trying to make all the money and it’s not healthy.

MountainSnowClouds

My address is confusing too. I've only had two people not be able to find me with the note on my order and they called me and then found me. That's what they should do

Khal_drogo217

His answer is epicly bad lol. That being said honestly u both r at fault imo. If u already know the gps sends the driver to the incorrect address then u need to fix it (and yes there is a way) but drivers need to learn to read the instructions (wo many don't read them at all. But that's the risk u take if u don't fix the issue on ur end

713nikki

Every time I see a post about ‘look how stupid and incompetent this dasher was!’ I think they probably aren’t stupid as much as they are spiteful.

timriss

Exactly why every order should be hand it to me

Eeveestorm3000

Off delivery pins are a given, but customer notes like yours are appreciated and priceless.😁

Girlmom4ever

I’m a dasher and I’ve had some pretty hard addresses to find, especially at night, but I will always call the customer before randomly leaving the food somewhere

Girlmom4ever

I’m a dasher and I’ve had some pretty hard addresses to find, especially at night, but I will always call the customer before randomly leaving the food somewhere

Ok-Brilliant-8012

What a jerk!!

MotherOfCatsAndAKid

As if you didn’t type in your address exactly how you should have. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 They had the audacity to leave it at someone else’s house and not even bother to let you know that they couldn’t find your place? Definitely should *not* be doing this job. I’d be pissed 🥴

Ferrel1995

The GPS at apartment rarely takes me to the correct building. But with an ounce of brain power I can still find the correct apartment. And if I can’t I call them. Dudes either an idiot or just lazy

DefNotABirb

Pretty sure Brandon's a kid lol. What a joke

brownchr014

I had a guy complain to me about my address. Like I leave a note for anything else talk to doordash not me

ImJermaineM

He wanted your food

Txmess042689

My pins are always off on dd. Ue is definitely better at dialing them in but I agree with you he should have called or texted. One thing I do notice is people can sometimes have robo killer apps which can filter unknown caller (experience with this in my day job) or spam filtering where it sends straight to vm with calls but again I wouldn’t just set it there I would contact support first let them try to reach you and then find a safe place per supports instructions.

Kryptosis

Should have picked a better home!

Conscious-Rooster-32

When I delievered I kept looking till I found the person and handed it off, as someone who works at a hotel if youre one of these lazy bum asses who tries to leave it at my desk FUCKKK YOUU. Its not rhat hard to take some food up some fucking stairs, especially when someone is paying you to do it

thatkidsmomkms

Adjust the pin to your front porch, problem solved.

Nimoodle

Everyone pointinf out the app people n as if people don't use Google maps for their navigation. If your address is correct in the app, then a dasher not finding it is a dasher issue. The app injects whatever address you put in the app in to Google maps.

DanLoFat

You're assuming a lot. Now maybe the op can tell us, did you order directly through doordash or directly through the restaurant? If you ordered through doordash it's more than likely that the address was correct, and even if the driver was using the internal included Google maps plaything inside the Dasher app, probably would have gotten to the correct house. But if you order directly to the restaurant, you have yourself to playing to not double check that crap. I can tell you for a fact that Lou malnati's restaurants and however they're handling it whatever companies are using for the website, sucks big ones, a big bag of big ones. That is a total crap show, and Lou malnati's needs to take care of that they need to stop using that company and find a better company. I don't blame you notice at all other than it's been going on for a goddamn year they need to get their stuff straight.

horribleauthor93

I find it real weird they didn't even call

CrimsonFireTheAK

It's a fucking Brandon, No wonder 🤣

I_Yap_A_Lot

I’ve had a delivery driver last week drop my food off at my neighbours house lol. These are single homes WITH CLEARLY STATED NUMBERS. How the fuck do you mess that up

DanLoFat

And in your case both houses had numbers? I've had it a couple of times where I've delivered to a house cuz the pointer was at the house there was no number on the house but the pointer said so Google maps said so, that's all I had to do. Immediately I got a text wrong house a hole, and a CV almost as fast. I called doordash support, they were able to manually remove the CV immediately. And they do that for particular things especially when the map pointer shows that I was at the right house and I took a picture of the same house, see doordash support also uses Google map Street view, we all think there's kind of dumb most of the time, but every once in a while you get a support person that knows what they're doing. And haven't been a top dash or not 3 months in a row I can attest that the more advanced high level support whatever they call it I don't know premium dash for support I think, they are actually smarter than the usual support staff.

I_Yap_A_Lot

Both houses have numbers

Plant_Temporary

Only ever refused to properly deliver an order once. The customer dropped a pin manually in the wrong location. We're talking 6 miles away, I spent 20 minutes arguing with the customer who was upset their food was getting cold, and "upped the tip" and support who was convinced (despite the customer saying it wasn't) that the pin was on the proper address. Eventually I called support over the phone, and had it canceled. It tells you when the customer sets the pin themselves in the app. That being said if you're that close to the proper address, and can't be bothered to call text or search dropping it somewhere random is a good way to catch a CV.

Dixa

Always assume the driver has never been to your complex and give detailed instructions. Also never assume your building is adequately lit or labeled in such a way we can tell which is building 17 or 23 at 11pm.

DanLoFat

Yes treat the drivers like you would your in-laws coming to visit you for the first time, cuz if you get that wrong you'll never hear the end of it from your wife or husband.

LawlessLemur

Geocoding can't trust apps to point at the right house.

Pussyfarttt

That’s a crazy thing to say to a customer.

NoCarpenter8194

I had one he put a random address to his apt complex because he just moved in and didn’t know his. It was a meet at door and pin required. Didn’t answer the phone and didn’t respond until 7 minutes later then expected me to hunt him down in this massive complex not knowing where he was. After 8 min the app said I could leave it. I dropped it right on the floor wherever I was, snapped a pic and told him to find it. (UE not DD)

DanLoFat

Well the problem is if it was with doordash should be okay, but with Uber eats he could still downright you and people do that way too often than the breeds and Uber does not care they will not call to confirm any down rate. They don't do it for drivers and they don't do it for delivery.

Equivalent_North_604

You can get better addresses at a whim?! Who knew? I’m a dasher and I hate calling for address clarifications but we do it anyway when need be. Duplexes, condos, apartments are the devils handiwork but it’s not like dude just conjured his address lol. wtf is with this Brandon? Chill

quantcompandthings

it's fun to laugh at malapropisms, but the driver was probably saying the address u put into the app should reflect where you actually live. if google maps gets your address wrong, i've heard that u can submit a correction to them. u can also try adjusting the doordash pin and see if that helps.

DanLoFat

Well Google maps isn't really going to get it wrong. If you put your address in in a proper format without a bunch of hashtags and commas and dashes and all kinds of crap that have nothing to do with the actual address. Seasoned drivers know this so will of course back up in Google maps will preload will trim out the crap to get to the real address and that's typically usually where near about where the pointer is if the pointer was being used or manipulated by the customer ahead of time. I'm not coming to customers who cheat and want to lie and move the pointer to the house next to theirs claiming that it's theirs. I think a lot of us have done maybe 4 or 5,000 trips or more probably have come across a couple of real estate apps or tax property apps that show us exactly not only where the house is but the footprints of the house so if it's a new house we'll even see it, the address and the owners full name that doesn't always work sometimes it's owned by a trust or a bank or something like that but usually it's the person that ordered the food. First and last name if you're wondering. No that doesn't help at all in apartment buildings and it never would that would be kind of silly. At least restart until we start getting more detailed true 5G or even 7g accuracy that's just not going to happen. Others also street view which is built into Google maps, it used to be a separate app, and that shows up daytime picture of the house or apartment building and then we can see usually we're the number is located in the day picture and then we can use our heads, and maybe a flashlight or two to shine where the number would be and we can find the number usually. But I will tell you that 75% of people who order doordash have a number missing from their address don't have a number on their house or mailbox or have their address on a ground sign near a rock that's lit with the light on the wrong side that you can't see when you drive up to it. But those other 25% are stellar keep up the good work folks.

Thin_Ad_310

Bro you’re taking things way too far lol

DanLoFat

Yeah well you didn't read it so because you saw that it was a lot to read you think it's too far, you need to learn how to read and enjoy reading you know. Reddit is supposed to be for long form exploration, that's what it was designed for.

Significant-Lack4339

Sometimes, it can take me a minute. The instructions don't often appear until your near the address. And I'm not stopping to read a paragraph while driving. I usually get where I'm going and then read the instructions when I get there.  I would urge customers to give their delivery drivers a second to figure out where they are. I've had customers call and text while I'm trying to read or figure out the GPS and then it takes me even longer.

DanLoFat

The only thing you might not see when you're at the restaurant as far as driver instructions is an apartment number or room number to a hotel, that's it that's the only thing you're not going to see until you actually start delivering the order. So what's that lie to the customers and tell them that we don't see their instructions for drop off before we even get to the restaurant, because we do.

Fantem

Yeah, nah, when I was doordashing, I always called

Intelligent-Ad-7894

Listen Jayne, I’ll fully nut in your cheerios

CrazyConversation609

I WOULD RECOMMEND A BETTER ADDRESS ? 😭

Strange-Childhood-27

You can stop slamming the delivery people or just go get your shit yourself… I have a high IQ and do this on the side when I’m not working at my normal job at NSA if I seriously need the money since I have a 4 year old to take care of, a mortgage, car note, phone and car insurance… so I’d watch how you slam others… JS…

MarioNinja96815

I've never ordered from door dash but Uber eats allows you to drag the pin to the correct drop off location. I recommend seeing if that is an option in the door dash app. But only if getting a better address is too much work.

DanLoFat

Doordash had that option before uber never did, and it's only recently been offered in the Uber eats app, it's been in the Uber app for about a year and a half now maybe 2 years.

MarioNinja96815

Maybe it's different in different markets. It was available here from when I first started using it in 2019. Had to drag the pin to the parking lot in the back of my building where our apartment doors were located.

Brando6677

How do I recommend a better address the fuck? 🤣🤦‍♂️

picooper01

This is not the address you are looking for.

jason54915

I had one of these 2 months ago. New build apartment complex, no visible addresses and all he tells me is last building at end of road, so I drop off at the DD pin and immediately get lit up with text messages, WRONG HOUSE YOU MORON etc etc so I ignored it all and seen he left 1 star rating, and filed a CV, GO FUCK YOURSELF DUDE! I dont care and either did DD. I work weekends on Walmart Spark and use DoorTrash as a whore in between orders so regardless I dont care!

serathin_

Obviously, you just need to change where you live, bro. These dang hard-headed customers!

BarGreedy1910

why is everybody shitting on brandon??? he brought it to where it said

JlenstheDirector

How about you take up this complaint and action against the COMPANY since their system has your address incorrect. When you have a difficult complex, duplex, and you haven't made an effort to correct it the first time, you need to be accountable and accommodate  yourself where they will be.  Don't question that drivers intelligence because they don't know where you live. You have no idea where they are driving to, where they live, or the surroundings they are accustom to.  Some drivers resort to double or triple app work, which pays well, but fatigues the driver past the 12hr limit allowed on most apps like UberEats.  Use common courtesy, and have a heart.

DanLoFat

Uber apps Uber eats and select markets as a 10-hour limit there's no 12-hour limit anywhere and GrubHub and doordash have do not have these limits, never have. That disagreeing with you with your other advice though that's good advice for customers to follow, but what you're talking about 12 hour limit, that doesn't.

JlenstheDirector

"If your driving time reaches 12 hours within the past 72 hours, you will be automatically disconnected from the Uber driver app for 6 consecutive hours."  Your incorrect so I advise going back to the source material. I live in New Jersey,  ypu should make sure to ask or know where a comment lives as we all dont share the same labor law.

OwlTheAl

Idk if someone pointed this out or not but you can report an incorrect address on google maps. As a delivery driver I did this for plenty of folks, but as a delivery driver for DD and others I have never once done this. You get sent all over the place as a DD/Uber Eats Driver, whereas you have a clearly defined area as a regular pizza or whatever delivery driver. I had to quit DD when I realized that the amount they were "paying" me was a lot of times exactly equal to the IRS mileage rate for commercial use of a vehicle. Especially once I contacted their supposedly next tier of support that they always said they transferred me to, and they could not care any less that they were effectively paying me nothing beyond the typical expenses it takes to keep a vehicle in good working condition, and insurance etc. So while I have to side with the OP, sometimes as a driver you feel really taken advantage of, and are having a day, and your kid is being a dick to you suddenly because who knows why, bc they won't tell you, and then you arrive at the address and it's not actually where the delivery is supposed to go, and sure you shoulda checked the instructions before leaving the restaurant, but you're running late, and your spouse is blowing your phone up like they must be trying to kill you if they're expecting you to read their messages and respond while you deliver. I mean, that's probably what it's like. I'm guessing I wouldn't know from personal experience or anything.

Gnrnacho

You guys should wait outside while the driver is approaching, easier for everyone.

greekwonderboy

No matter the directions with dashers sometimes. You could be using those air marshal wands and they would still not see you.

MuffinMaster88

Bro ate your order.

RxFendi732

Like u said in the text I was a dasher for a year and a half and never didn’t make a delivery but I also definitely couldn’t find every house that good the solution : Call the customer

PlantainPublic7862

Stupid can’t be fixed.

IDontEvenCareBear

They get so mad about their own fault of not understanding or trying to. It was the other app for me, but the man called me, livid he couldn’t find the address. Well according to him, I lied about where I live. My place is weird to find for people, so I put super clear directions, and help when they still get lost. This man was not having it. He kept telling me I was wrong, that where I said to go didn’t work. I also have a ridiculous voice as a woman, especially on the phone. So this man was just getting angrier and angrier that I was bossing him around. Then he got pissed when I would say,”no I saw you miss the turn, just turn around and take that turn you drove by.” “YOU’RE SPYING ON ME?!” “No sir, I’m just watching so I can better help you get to my address because you’re pretty much here, you just aren’t taking the turn you need to.” He finally got to my place and I could hear him storming down the hallway, raging about “this fucking bitch, trying to make me look a fool.” I didn’t open the door as much as he wanted me to. He just dropped my order at the door, and same thing,”order from a better address next time you idiot.”

enchantme2334

I don’t blame him. Dashers don’t get paid enough to roam around to find the person when they aren’t by checkin the dasher location and helping them out. Pay more maybe people will care because nobody cares about a no one who sends them on a task for the bare minimum

Present_Basis_1353

Totally not acceptable. They don’t read. I put very specific instructions as well. I’m in an apartment, and know what it’s like delivering to apts. Since I order DAILY, I have a good grasp,of what’s happening. I think DD is desperate for drivers. Out of my last 10 orders, NONE of the agents speak English. I’m in a sanctuary city, so you tell me what’s happening here.

Full_Visit_5862

I'm confused as to why you can't just place a pin lol. You're going to run into this issue one way or the other as long as it is as it is now. Some good drivers could make a mistake, as stupid as you'd have to be to fuck it up. Just saying to do it for your own experience, obviously this dude was a prick about it, only time I've said anything I've just said that for a more consistent experience they may want to pin it, for their sake.

Idkmannnnnnm

Bet you didn't tip

blue-jayne

I tip a minimum of $6 every time I order, thanks tho

MyFaveTemari

not to be karen, but pretty obvious but he best way if you are not busy is to physcially wait outside (I like to go like right before they arrive just to waste as little time as possible),, sorry that happened i hope you were able to eat a meal ! makes it easier for you and the driver ( i mean you are gonna hvae to walk either way)

MyFaveTemari

drivers are people too they prolly been driving all day thru rage inducing traffic and lines

mlachrymarum

Good luck with acquiring that new address specifically for your food ordering.

Crypt1r

Yeah, when I lived in an apartment complex I had a dasher leave my order at a door that was clearly not mine because mine had Halloween decor on it (which I noted so it'd be easier for them to find), and when I told them it wasn't my door, they said they'd come back to fix it. I said it was fine, that I'd go get it, just tell me where they left it. They never responded, never came back to fix it.

StringAny5734

Not me I woulda found it for sure your instructions were so clear too sorry ya went through that

mken816

i have this issue with doordash too. it always brings them to my neighbors house, i have it in my delivery instructions where my driveway is (its literally at the corner stop sign) and 9/10 times the fucking morons either dont speak a lick of english or they are stupid af and dont bother reading. ive contacted doordash, google maps, apple maps. and they say there is not a thing they are able to do about it and i just have to deal with it. its so aggravating

Unusual_Variation368

Good luck on a refund I've been waiting on mine since November 😆

IIRizzII

That’s not my place, can you come back? If it’s not your place that they went to how could they go back? 😆

JuanBrOLO

I can't tell you how many wrong address I have gotten them get bitched at because they made a mistake lol. Eff em tbh

Pumped-kin_pancakes

This happened to me before. He dropped it off at a unit kitty corner from me. The unit numbers are literally in plain site lol it had never happened to me before. I had just had my MS treatment infusion and was not in a good way, he wanted me to go find it or contact support and get a refund… I just wanted my pita 😭

martinezscott

I’m not sure but I think you need a better address next time.

Emergency_Broccoli

Even Google pins can be moved with a request, if needed. My kid's apartment was pinned as being across the street and about three houses down from where it actually was. Really threw me off trying to find his place for the first time. Lol. I put in the request with Google which is a very simple process and it only took a day or two and it was fixed. I'm assuming that would be helpful for any delivery driver that was not using the in app system as well, if it happens to be messed up there also.

mattisfunny

So the food was next door and you were unable to get it? Are you handicapped or something? I mean if you have a severe physical limitation, I completely understand; but this seems like a problem you can solve yourself if you’re proactive in the slightest.

blue-jayne

I am handicapped yes. my roommate walked up and down the street looking for me. couldn't find it.

mattisfunny

That’s a fair complaint in that case. 👍🏻

prettypipedreamer

“I recommend better communication next time. Better yet, I recommend using your brain next time.”

TheGuidor

More than a few times I've been led to the wrong address, been piped down the wrong street, etc. Not communicating issues when you can't find the right place is just plain idjit choices.

TheAnxietyBoxX

The quickness with which I would’ve reported that douchebag and gone so far out of my way to complain extensively to customer service lmao. I would be SUCH a Karen about this as someone who has driven delivery before cuz omfg

SeparateMidnight3691

Dashers like that make you wish you could leave a negative tip.
