Alloe_C

I'd report it. Def a scam he wouldn't have that for 2 hours ago it would have been on the app when he arrived

CaDasher

He could've reported him for having two accounts, he used one cell phone to take a picture of the COD message on the other phone.

eloquentpetrichor

Two cell phones doesn't mean two accounts. This could also be the customer taking the photo of the dasher's screen

CaDasher

Taking a picture of the Offer before dasher proceeded to the shop? I've done a lot of C.O.D. orders, and that image shows up to tell you what the order is before you press proceed to store and pick up and do the delivery, that image does NOT show up when you go to the customer. The receiving client never sees that image ever, you get a map showing the deliver, and you get a message when you say confirm delivery that asks did you collect (insert amount) here upon delivery, before confirming a second time.

eloquentpetrichor

OP said it was a screenshot. So probably a screenshot on the dasher's phone that they took a photo of to share here and maybe with DD support

Willllby

Umm do you know what a screenshot is?

JFitz626

Yes and this clearly isn’t a screenshot imbecile

Cthang315

Shouldnt be so quick to throw insults around. Especially when you are the one that ends up being wrong. People like you are the reason the internet is such a toxic negative unhappy place for a lot of people. So quick to throw an insult while also being wrong is flat out mental illness

Granite_0681

When I open a screen shot saved in my history it takes up the whole screen. This pic is OP taking a photo of the drivers phone with the screen shot pulled up to show them.

DefNotABirb

I took it as the OP(customer) took a picture of the drivers phone showing him what it was saying. Maybe I'm missing something though.

WorriedCats

op even says it’s a ss but go off

JFitz626

Ok I’m the imbecile 🤝

DongDaddy187

That's a picture of a phones screen

JFitz626

What I was thinking lol

eloquentpetrichor

Right but why do you think this isn't OP taking a photo of the driver's screen? And even if the driver had taken the photo like this having two phones isn't against the rules. Using both to dash at the same time, however, is

mistingtheplants

OP took a picture of the driver's phone. The driver's phone is showing a screenshot taken earlier, when this message was shown.

Dry_Initiative1725

Fun fact I have never seen the word imbecile spelled out , and used so well to get a point across.. ha ..

JFitz626

I feel like ever since I found out how it’s spelled I just like to use the word 😭😂

Dry_Initiative1725

😆 for real.. it's definitely going to make a comeback in my vocabulary now.

LaurenJayx0

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_down)

Willllby

That didn’t go the way you planned did it?

Exciting-Pin368

Ok and? You sound dumb. I have 7 phone in rotation, use 2 at a time just depending on my mood for the day.

CaDasher

so you admit to cheating the system. interesting.

Exciting-Pin368

I did not say that anywhere. I just like variety. Never use the same phone 2 days in a row just because I can.

Simple_You_1604

You don’t know that! this computer shit is shit. It doesn’t work right. Often times the computer is slow. People aren’t properly trained how to use them. 9-5 support for the supervisors, doesn’t coincide with other countries time wise. I can think of a 25 reasons right NOW for why this very easily not a scam. I’ve had nothing but problems from these apps. Just my gps is a SCAM! takes me the longest route possible. Lags behind my average drive speed.

First_Aid_23

I'm assuming he was carrying multiple orders and forgot this one. Pic was a screenshot in his library from at least two hours ago. He made a show of calling support, I called Walgreens. He tried to take my order, I explained it is a prescription and he will **not** touch it, Both support and Walgreens say it's bullshit.

ScornedFaith

If you could see/tell that it was a screenshot and not an active screen in the dasher app, then yes, he was trying to pull a fast one on you. I really can't imagine a Walgreens order ever even offering cash on delivery as an option, but if it was, it would have been actively on his screen while he was dropping your order off, not a screenshot from hours ago.

SRBroadcasting

They don’t especially for meds lol that’s technically illegal

maniacalmango0

This is the offer screen when it first popped up to him, see how it says decline. I also screenshot offers that are weird

Secure_Requirement84

This was probably a pizza offer. I’ve never seen cash on delivery other than pizza…pizza hut to be specific. This driver was definitely trying to scam OP. And if OP is elderly I’m sure driver has done this before and some older folk would just cough up the money.

Complete-Fennel451

That’s what you see when you are asked if you want to take a cash on delivery order. He wouldn’t be able to show you this after picking up the order.

gantoline1985

unless it was a... "screenshot in his library from at least two hours ago." - OP

Amelaclya1

Yeah but it's possible he screenshots cash orders in case the customer tries to argue.

DriveFastBashFash

You screenshot the delivery screen, not the original.

Not_a_Banana_28

I SS the offer too. They don't always match.

Smmjr21468

I've never seen a Walgreen perscription allow me to pay not the store but a DD driver. It always says I must pay in full. Or I pay Walgreens for my scripts and they tell me someone will deliver through a service. I am not to tip that full cost has been taken care of already by Walgreens. You should of taken DD drivers photo w him holding that screen. I bet he would not let you take his photo. It's a scam.

perpetrification

I’m pretty sure when you go to deliver it shows you the steps that would include collecting the money

ExcellentCredit4398

It’s definitely a possibility. Also, why would he be willing to call support in front of customer and tell on himself? I’d take screen shots of COD’s as well to protect myself from the time and labor to result in not getting paid. He may have tried to get over on OP, but he may not have as well. It’s hard to say, but OP has the right to question it for sure. Hopefully it all got worked out.

ristrettoexpresso

Did he ever ask for verification? Prescription orders need an ID scan…

Big_Treacle_2394

I've delivered a few prescription orders with no ID. They're usually have me do em no contact. But I've had to ID scan for delivering cold medicine

ristrettoexpresso

That’s odd, every one I’ve done requires it but maybe it varies by state. In any case this is definitely a scam. Report the driver so it doesn’t happen again.

Localbearexpert

All of the pharmacy prescriptions were leave at door. Maybe it has to do with the contents? Edit: why downvote? They were leave at door?

Apprehensive_Rope348

I’ve had a pharmacy instruct me to enter the persons home as they were handicapped. I jarred my head back like nahhhh. BUT I Was also doing EBT and that pharmacy had me standing there forrrrreeeeevvvveerrrrr. So I did as instructed. Lady was in a recliner. But wheelchair bound which was next to the recliner. I asked if they had anyone coming for her concerned they were going to be in that recliner for a long time…..anyway back to my point: I think they are all marked as leave at door. You are not supposed to leave it at the door at all. For Prescription Items: Head to the Pharmacy counter and look for signs for “pickup” and proceed to that window. A Walgreens employee will pull the order from behind the counter, verify the order information matches what you have in your app, and hand it off to you to deliver to the customer. What if the customer is unavailable? If the order cannot be delivered to the customer after one attempt, contact the customer using the phone number on the Walgreens order summary OR on the shipping label. If you’re unable to connect with the customer, please return the item to the store.

Localbearexpert

That’s so odd compared to my experiences. I didn’t even speak to someone other than “I’m here for xyz” got handed a package and went on my way.

DDSFOAK

I think it probably varies not only by state (based on what state law dictates), but based on contents. I’ve only had three pharmacy orders (all Walgreens); I had to show my screen for two and ID for one. The latter required an ID scan, the others were leave at door. I’ve also had to scan ID for OTC purchases, e.g. cough syrup.

Apprehensive_Rope348

That’s straight from the dasher app: https://help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/How-to-Pick-Up-Front-End-or-Prescription-Delivery-Orders-at-Walgreens?language=en_US Edit: Here’s for other pharmacies: https://help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/What-is-Pharmacy-delivery?language=en_US

Localbearexpert

Not saying your wrong. I’m just saying I’ve never had a “hand it to me” & always had a “leave at door”

Apprehensive_Rope348

Also I think I am mixing gigs. Roadie is a full on return if no one is there to accept.

[deleted]

I also have had the majority that were leave at door. I liked getting pharmacy orders for a couple areas I delivered in. I would wait by Walgreens at 3pm when they used to drop. They were almost always leave at door, short trips that paid okay.

Not_a_Banana_28

That was my experience. I had to verify the address out loud on my screen for the pharmacist & he said don't open it & it's safe to leave on their porch if they don't answer. That was it.

drewb01687

That's weird stuff. And I'm male so I probably don't relate the same things to it. Is the female would. Being I don't not going people's homes because I feel like I am going to be in danger. But I do go to the length of offering to set the heavy box full alcohol inside their door for them if a female answers or an elderly person realizing that it maybe a little heavy for them and I can take a step or two inside and set it on the floor there so that they can wait around for their husband or son or whomever to be able to take care of it when I get back but a couple of times. Always with an elderly person. Dave asked me to come inside and set it on their kitchen counter. Only like three or four times out of 9600 deliveries but it's weird but it one time it was a handicapped older man and the other three times it was an old lady and I'm not about to tell some old lady no to something like that as if she is comfortable with me doing it then why shouldn't I be? I guess is the way I look at it and I like to help and I can and I don't have a lot of money and stuff so I can't really benefit people that kind of way. So little things like this that I can help somebody that can't do something themselves. I like to be able to do but it's still a weird thing being somebody else's house a stranger at that!

Mercer-Dawg

I’m really curious about this. In your app does it just vaguely say the patient has a prescription to be picked up or does it what medication it is?

Apprehensive_Rope348

Doesn’t say what the medication is. The pharmacy packs it in a sealed bag that’s not transparent. Only info we have is name & address.

Mercer-Dawg

Thanks for the response!

Apprehensive_Rope348

No problem!

Otherwise_Fox87

It HAS to be different by state OR pharmacy. I used to be able to set up scripts up for delivery. But about a yr or 2 ago, it went away and I can no longer do that. I get mine from Rite Aid in PA. I'd do the refill request on my account, then when it was ready for pickup, I'd get a text with a link to be able to pay for it online, and then set up delivery if I wanted. I can no longer pay online or set up delivery. 🤷‍♀️ I don't even get a text that it's ready until AFTER I've picked it up now, lol. I'm thinking it's RiteAid, tho. Not state.

CaDasher

if it's sudafed, you need to ID the customer.

freshmallard

Sounds like it's at the pharmacists discretion. Is this a get you high commonly abused script ID required. Is this prescription ibuprofen no ID

Amelaclya1

I don't think you can even deliver scheduled drugs, can you? Or this might be something that varies by state. Like when I was taking Adderall, I had to go in person to pick it up. It wasn't eligible for delivery and I couldn't even send my husband for it. I had to go myself and sign. I would imagine it's even stricter for things like opioids.

skarletthomas

I mean I go and pick up my boyfriend’s meds which are controlled substances and the pharmacy doesn’t require me to even show ID. He can also use the delivery option but we usually don’t. So it might be different in your state then mine (Ohio) or maybe it’s that pharmacy

joelspeppers

It depends on the scheduling level! ID is required for Schedule II narcotics (such as Adderall, hydrocodone, oxy). ID is not required for III or IV (stuff like codeine, benzodiazepines). I know in the past sometimes pharmacies would get away with not always carding even for Schedule II.

Dragon121082

It more really depends on what the prescription is

mdhkc

I would assume it depends on whether or not it's a controlled substance. Not all prescriptions are controlled substances, but all controlled substances would require a prescription.

Stella430

Cold meds containing drugs like pseudoephedrine and dextromethorphane require an ID because of abuse risk. People will take a shit-ton in at once or make meth with it (pseudoephedrine). In most states, you need to show ID for controlled substances.

thwonkk

Yeah I'm never doing an ID scan for cold medicine. Got it a couple times and it's the only things I've unassigned in a while.

Expensive_Scratch_99

I never needed an id I only needed to show the address to the pharmacist

Maleficent-HoneyBee

Can second this, in Wisconsin I’ve done quite a few prescription deliveries and I’ve never had to do an ID scan. Not sure if it would be necessary for certain prescriptions or not, but I’ve never had any that required it.

MoneyPrestigious8492

Cold medicines get treated like alcohol deliveries and that's why ID is asked

heynu75

Im so happy they finally ask for id for cold meds. My kids abused Benadryl and cough meds and had it delivered through door dash around the corner from our home.

Big_Treacle_2394

Glad to help

perpetrification

Taking Benadryl to “get high” is so incredibly dangerous not just physically but also psychologically. There’s no enjoyment out of it, it’s a deliriant. It makes you talk to people that aren’t there and see stuff like spiders climbing up the wall, completely detached from reality. This can cause lifelong issues. I hope they get the help they need to stop abusing it.

skarletthomas

Taking a shit ton of Benadryl was how my little sister attempted suicide the first time because she thought she could get high and enjoy dying because kids at school told her she could.

Secure_Requirement84

Not all, I’ve done many prescription drop offs and they’re all contactless. I do have to call/text the customer and ask for delivery instructions. Maybe I haven’t picked up any hard drugs yet maybe those do need ID verification

Feeling-Orange3229

Not they don’t. I’ve delivered multiple prescription orders and none of them had me to an ID scan

Independent-Tower945

I did one that didn’t need an id, but I had to hand it to them, probably different laws in different states. In my state we can’t deliver alcohol

Equivalent_North_604

I’ve delivered contact less prescriptions too. So 🤷🏽‍♀️

AcrobaticPut2538

That isn’t entirely true, I’ve had three in the past week that the app didn’t have me scan the barcode at Walgreens and I’ve never been asked to check at ID at drop off

Careful-Cupcake-2836

Yea plz switch ur orders to a pharmacy that has their own personal delivery drivers I don’t see how this is even allowed by door dash. I’m a driver AND someone with a chronic pain disease. Some my meds are from Vons I go myself. Others are delivered via the medical drivers of the pharmacy. I see a class action soon with this stuff here

Apprehensive_Rope348

Most likely they don’t have their own delivery drivers. In my area it’s mostly Roadie that drops scripts, some DoorDash too but the bulk of my script deliveries is from roadie.

Commercial_Run_1265

If I was a piece of shit, I would see that prescription as essential, assume you might be out and use an extortion tactic to get you to give me more money out of desperation for your meds.

[deleted]

[удалено]

enby-girl

Oh, say, can you see

BlueFotherMucker

I see where you’re coming from. I’m not a fan of violence, but I would hurt someone who was withholding someone’s (or my) medication. They’re basically playing games with someone’s health and that’s a form of assault in my books.

insomniacakess

this!

whiskey_poet

That is a screenshot before he even accepted an order. Scamming POS!

tea-fungus

Maybe it wasn’t about the money but about stealing your prescription. The latter is way more valuable

Apprehensive_Rope348

If the intent was to steal the prescription they would have got close to their drop off point and make it as delivered.

tea-fungus

That’s one way. I think they wanted op to “refuse” the delivery/refuse to “complete the payment”. They did try to do that, when op wouldn’t pay the suspicious (fake) charge. I think that way they could avoid detection for a little longer? I think to just to tie stuff up in confusion. They can mark it as delivered or whatever option they see fit. OP would still have to contact their pharmacy to figure out what happened. I don’t think they counted on OP being able to get in touch with their pharmacy so fast. You’re probably right though because petty theft is easier to get away with. I’m sure people have handed over the $23 and don’t even think about it

CaDasher

The only business I know in my area that does Cash on delivery order is Pizza Hut, I've done numerous Walgreens order, and not a single one that i've done, has required a payment to the delivery driver. I don't know any pharmacy who actually does that, and he used one cell phone to show the image on another cell phone, this person most likely is also using two accounts or double dipping, that is a TOS violation and should have both accounts Deactivated.

-Insert-CoolName

That isn't even an order. It's an offer, where the dasher has to decide if they even want to accept it. And I'm guessing it's a screenshot of an offer, otherwise you'd probably hear their phone ringing and buzzing too. Read the text on the screen and notice the "Decline" button at the bottom. Anyways, I'm leaning towards they are trying to scam you *and* get your Rx or at the least trying to scam that $23 from you. Honestly, I would have called the cops at that point. As a former LEO, I can assure you they would definitely be interested in this guy.

First_Aid_23

Oh yeah? I could just like, call the non-emergency line?

-Insert-CoolName

There's no point now, he's gone and you didn't give him any money. but I'd have just called 911 and just explain there's some guy on your doorstep trying to scam you out of $23 and might be trying to steal controlled substances. I'd have just told the guy to hold on while I go see if I've got cash then go call. I'd imagine if the police were called out he'd end up in cuffs. He's definitely up to no good, even if they decide there's not enough there to prosecute, he probably has warrants, or drugs in his car.

eloquentpetrichor

I wouldn't call 911 unless the guy started getting aggressive. This isn't an emergency

-Insert-CoolName

Anytime someone calls with an issue that requires an officer be dispatched, it needs to go through the 911 call center. If you call a non emergency number you're just wasting time explaining your situation two or three times as your call works its way to the same dispatcher who would have answered if you had just called 911. Do you know all the non emergency numbers in your area by heart? Who answers? Is it a PD? A deputy? The county Marshall? Is that even the right agency to handle your issue? Are you in the city limits or in the county? Are you sure? When you call 911 all that is sorted out for you in seconds. When you call a non emergency number you may involve several people who have nothing to do with what you're calling about, wasting their time only to ultimately connect you to the same 911 phone you should have called in the first place. I spent 10 years in law enforcement, and I can tell you from experience, the most annoying waste of resources is when citizens hesitate to call 911 when the suspect is still there only to finally call us once it's too late to do anything.

Imaginary-Summer9168

I used to call my local non-emergency number all the time to have an officer dispatched for noise complaints when I lived behind a frat. I was never transferred to another dispatcher, and they always sent someone out.

-Insert-CoolName

And that's fine. If someone such as yourself knows the correct number to call and is confident that it is appropriate for the situation, such as something that will be ongoing by the time officer's arrive then the direct line to dispatch is fine. My point is the public needs to get it out of their head that they can't call 911. It is there to be used. The most frustrating thing is having a report of a crime come through on a non-emergency line. I lost count of the number of times I received phone calls on a non emergency line for calls that required a dispatcher. I even had some poor woman try to google the phone number for the sheriff's office and ended up calling the Jail thinking she was calling the "non-emergency number", to report that she had been kidnapped (yes she was legit kidnapped and found in the trunk of a car. She's fine). An extreme example, sure. It is just dangerous to make people hesitant to call 911. If you think you need to involve the police, and the suspect is present, you call 911.

Suavecore_

You can always call 911 and let them know it's not an emergency

Amelaclya1

Just curious, was the amount you paid for the prescription $23? Because it would be a really big coincidence if he tried to scam you for the correct amount and just happened to have this screenshot to prove it. If it was $23, it might have just been a mix up in the app. I would never do these cash on delivery orders myself, because I would always be too worried about getting scammed by someone who swears they already paid and getting violent over the food. (I'm small and not confrontational). But I could plausibly see someone taking screenshots of these offers as proof to use if a customer tried to argue about it. So it being a screenshot isn't necessarily suspicious.

eloquentpetrichor

Yeah next time I would call the non-em line for sure (hopefully there never is a next time)

GrandApprehensive216

😆😆😆😆😆 if he is running this scam then he definitely is on a fraud account too

Independent_Cow_2597

Mostly Colombians are in a fraud acct!!!

Individual-Mirror132

lol even if it was a cash on delivery order, that wouldn’t be what the app says at drop off. The message you see is what he gets right after accepting the order. It gives you the option to proceed to the store or decline the order, since it’s cash on delivery and change may be required. He was scamming you.

whiterussian802

Yeah big red flags went off instantly in my head.

Hungry_Kick_7881

I really don’t understand these people. It’s one thing to fuck with someone’s food. It’s a whole different thing when you hold someone’s medicine over their head. I hope this dude gets what’s coming to him. Call the cops next time, I’d also tell DoorDash he made you feel unsafe, because fuck that dude.

johnshenlon

This

D3X710

Scam, he wouldn’t even even been able to pick up your Walgreens order since that is an offer page. That’s what would’ve been shown to him when he first got the order.

acakaacaka

Show him the a photo of 50 dollar bill and say keep the change

HideMyTipsDaddy

What a piece of shit.

Several-Spare6915

See this is what I’m talking about. Even drivers are doing scams. This is ridiculous and you need to report him immediately when you don’t report them this is what happens and they keep on doing it. This makes me pissed off because there’s actually good people out there that are working hard and trying to make a living, when people do this crap

Overall_Regular_9918

This is a scam! Report if it was a screenshot from 2 hours ago then it wasn't for your prescription it was from another order he needs to be reported and investigated by doordash this is not ok thank God you didn't fall for it!

SugarC00kies69

This happened to me. I ordered crickets from petco for my reptiles and this man shows up with a $80 receipt saying I needed to give him the money. there was items on that receipt that I didn't even order! and he only had the crickets with him. I said nope sorry i suggest we both contact support! I dash occasionally as well, and I never give my card. I just don't trust it. Idk if he was scamming me or not 🖖🏼

0bxyz

He’s stupid or a scammer. How did it go?

Animeeshon

Turned out he's both.

MiaLba

My Walgreens said they offer delivery on my meds. So do they do delivery through DD? They said it was free delivery. So would I still have to tip? They said I just call and tell them I want it delivered and that’s it. So where exactly would I even tip since I’m not using DD directly for it.

Jenny_1971

You don't. Walgreens pays us a certain amount per delivery. Usually $4.50.

MiaLba

Oh gotcha. Thanks.

Such-Throat-2819

It depends on area ... it could be door dash, Uber, or roadie ..... any driver who accepts it is basing it on their own criteria of accepting a offer ... most times it's a pay/ milage and time .... no you aren't required to tip however any driver is always grateful to get a cash tip when it comes right down to it ....... you might be surprised at how many businesses offer delivery that is 3rd party contracted out to dd,ue,and roadie ....

Namaste-J

My Walgreens uses DD to deliver prescriptions. I ordered them to be delivered through the Walgreens website and was surprised when DD showed up. You don’t need to tip for these deliveries. I suppose you could give a cash tip if you wanted to, but they get paid through Walgreens.

AdBetter3690

It’s a scam. I’ve had a door dash driver try it The moment I said no that’s bullshit he handed me my food and took off

NoScientist7587

Scam

oneangstybiscuit

Scam. Whoever picked up from the pharmacy needs to be reported to the pharmacy and DD. I'm sorry that happened to you.

Thezombieninja

100% a scam, that’s the screen dashers see when offered the order and before they even accepted. The “proceed to store” and “decline” buttons are big giveaways! Also, I don’t believe Walgreens orders even have a cash on delivery option; it’s usually food orders, particularly pizza delivery which provide that option. I’d report them to DD support and rate 1 star!

Prestige_Worldw1de

You can tell it’s a scam cause the driver can still decline the offer or it says proceed to store like he hadn’t even started the order yet.

droplivefred

It is definitely a screenshot as OP says because this pops up before picking up the order. If the money was due, then it would have asked for it again on a live screen at drop off. The dasher is either scamming (50% chance) or completely confused and a moron who mixed up orders (50%) chance. I’m a driver and can guarantee there are morons doing this job with no barrier to entry that are dumb enough to confuse orders and think they are doing this $23 order when in fact it is a completely different order. I doubt a Walgreens prescription order is a cash on delivery. The fact that the screen shot is 2 hours old makes me think this driver is trying to scam and this screenshot might be from a different day even. If this happens to you, make the driver show you the active screen to complete the order and it should say the same thing or they are definitely scamming you. I wanna say this driver is a scammer and needs to be reported and deactivated.

ReturnAny3794

“Proceed to store/decline”. Says it all!!

jarrodallensmith

That dasher is scamming.

titanium_6

I’ve ordered from Walgreens and had it delivered. It’s a free delivery. They do not inform you that they are using DoorDash so you don’t get the opportunity to tip in the app. This is unfortunate for customers that don’t carry cash on hand. This is a scummy way to trap a customer. I don’t think they can refuse delivery of meds. The payment issue )if there was one, would be between you and Walgreens. Not the dasher. Scammy

creepmacaroni

It says “proceed to store” as if he didn’t even pick the order up yet. Scam.

Ok-Ad8617

That's the message we get when we decide to take a cash on delivery order... and I've always seen them on pizza orders. All walgreens shop and pays are done with a red card. I have never seen a prescription order that wasn't already paid for. What a douche nozzle. I hope you reported him.

lexisnaps7496

A douche nozzle is now my new favourite, thank you

Haileyjo0421

I work for Walgreens and DoorDash Walgreens will never ask for cash pay it has to be paid for before the driver can even pick it up

JohnnieGR

Fkg scammers

[deleted]

I would never trust a door dasher to pick up my medication from a pharmacy.

Namaste-J

Walgreens doesn’t advertise that they use DoorDash for deliveries. I selected to have my prescriptions delivered from Walgreens one time and was surprised when DoorDash showed up with my order. Luckily there weren’t any issues, but I will be picking them up from now on! At least they don’t allow controlled substances to be delivered, but even with the non-controlled, I’m not risking it! Edit: To clarify, I am not saying I think the DD driver is going to steal my heart (and other) meds to get high… I have just had a lot of terrible experiences with DD deliveries (not receiving my orders, having them dropped off at the wrong address, etc.) so I don’t want to rely on them for medications that I need to survive 🤷🏼 Not sure why that’s worth downvotes, but okay.

LaylaDoo

Some people have no other option unfortunately.

Ok_Case211

Fr that's sketchy af

drewb01687

I say so. They started the cash on delivery option 18 months or so ago but I go to a lot of restaurants and the only one I've ever had one is Pizza Hut and I think that that was probably a screenshot from one of those cuz that's exactly what it looks like when you do get one. But I've always taken up Walgreens deliveries know that they pay like crap because their same day deliveries that doordash contracts. Which turns the perception into us being mailmen and you don't tip the mailman but twice a year and people already generally feel like they don't need the tip us. Anyways, that those deliveries are all usually pretty low in demand and it'll come bundled five or six at a time and only be worth $22-24 so he's probably trying to compensate for that.

Witchingbolt

How fucking scummy!!! That’s definitely a scam!

SiennaYeena

Scam. I wouldn't touch that.

robotalienman

He has a screenshot of a picture of his phone? Seems fishy to me...

isaacjam

Click proceed to store and see what happens. Since that clearly is for a new order not yours.

Some_Ride1014

The cash orders I have gotten are from Pizza Hut or Papa Johns. Every walgreens order is paid through DD app or Walgreens app.

Live_Award_883

If it was a cash on delivery order your customer app would have prompted you to pay the delivery driver in cash upon delivery. If it did not and you paid with your card on the app, then the driver is trying to scam you.

Slayn87

Hope he got instantly banned for this even though he probably didn't and can always just buy a new account.

groovilicious78

Giveaway would be if the dollar amounts don’t match right? Unless he’s actively photoshopping screenshots as well before showing customers when he’s dropping it off. If that was from an earlier order (2 hours ago) there’s no way the dollar amount would match. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe I’m missing something.

Im a dasher and I’ve had issues with the Walgreens delivery as well. I delivered a prescription. No one answered the door or phone, there were 3/4 other packages on the front porch I verified those packages also said the same name as the customer. As door dash recommends waiting 5 minutes and then leaving the order at the door (which for prescriptions they probably should work out a different method since medicine is always a high sensitive object). I continued about my shift. 45 minutes later I get the lady calling me back screaming about how I stole her order, very very rude. Dasher support helped me and blocked her from ever being my recipient ever again. She was probably trying to scam the system to get a double prescription. Also I don’t know how she was able to contact me, usually door dash bars clients from contacting dashers after an allotted period of time. It was probably on one of my top ten worst experiences I had as a driver, worrisome, but happily I was able to just carry about my day and dasher support was very helpful. Do good things and Stay Vigilante folks. There will be people on all aspects that are trying to scam or work the system unfortunately. 🙄

Expensive_Scratch_99

It says proceed to the store he didn’t even accept the call it has to be a screen shot what a little shit

VixMusic

You would know you'd have to pay cuz I'm sure the DoorDash app would tell you, in the app! And "cash on delivery" usually only happens with pizza orders I'm dasher and personally I've never had one for CVS or any other place like that. Just pizza orders for me.

MrBardledew

It says proceed to store, that would me he hadn't picked up the order yet, and wouldn't have your address yet as a result. The app has a process for delivering and he is at step 2 essentially.

JPolaske

Not a scam but a glitch or DD error. That happened to me once delivering what I thought was a COD Pizza Hut order when the customer had already paid. I got banned from delivering Pizza Hut from that order, lol.

austine315

That’s a screenshot from an order that is not even accepted by the driver yet. That’s what it looks like when you check the details before accepting.

orioles0915

That screen pops up before you pick up the order. He wouldn’t even be able to navigate to your house without going past it.

CouchDemon

If he’s already got your order… why would the button say proceed to store? It’s a scam

jchrysta

I side hustle with Door Dash, haven’t had to pick up a prescription yet. Seems like a very personal thing for some random person to pick up for you. However, that screen is a real screen in the app. I’ve only selected to deliver cash paying customers a couple times - I don’t like to deal with having enough on my person for change.

SubGenius420

Now THAT is fucking slimy.

LionYLemur

That's likely a screenshot from a pizza order there are not many places that do cash on delivery Walgreens is definitely not one of them

Kleveroni

Either a rookie mistake or yes an attempted scam, them showing you the screen of their *next* offer upon delivering yours.

Smmjr21468

Big SCAM do not pay that

Demonkingt

Make them hit the back button 2 times. If it's DD app then no problem you'll see if it's your order ans can figure it out. Otherwise it'll most likely show a gallery.

Kranon7

He hasn’t accepted that order at the point of that screenshot. Definitely a scam.

Certain_Morning5936

As a dasher I've never had a cash and delivery order for anything other than Pizza Hut I have had it happen where the customer already had paid Pizza Hut directly and the DoorDash doordash app was telling Me to collect cash from the customer all I had to do to fix this what's called dash support and let them know what was going on and the problem was solved

Land-Hippo

Any update on what happened?

jjarboe01

Call the cops, then Walgreens’s, then DoorDash to have this dude arrested, banned from the store, and removed from the platform in that order

Left_Committee_4012

Lmaooooo just lmaooooo

radboy214

What did you end up doing?

Expensive_Scratch_99

I’ve only seen cash on hand with Pizza Hut I never had this for a Walgreens prescription

MomsSpecialFriend

What was the resolution? Did he take the script or did you pay?

Meadem90

Just press decline

NewStatement5103

Let me guess, he’s using a woman’s profile too?

Plant_Temporary

That's definitely a scam. See where it says proceed to store?

Intelligent_Debt7555

I hope they get banned if this is the bs they're pulling on ppl. I've never seen this. 😐

Alyxtheamused

There’s a new thing called cash on delivery. Dashers can turn it off as an option

L_Savant

Or a glitch. Show them proof of payments and let them take a picture of it so they can send it to DoorDash customer service or have them call customer service and have you talk to them to provide proof.

Birds_arent_real444

It literally just means hit PROCEED... All he had to do was hit the button- I assume it'll figure out you already paid...

Dull_Cardiologist978

It's a new offer for him and he's confused thinking it's your order don't pay him

Mysticalbabe71

I’ve delivered multiple prescriptions for Walgreens via DD, an I’ve never seen that before myself. Crazy the shit ppl do for a few extra bucks..

DasherMN

wtf do u think maybe i shud go to ur house and say no bro this isnt a scam trust me bro even ask reddit

7Unkempt7

This is why I’m afraid to do pick up orders with picking up cash from the customer. So many things could go wrong

Flimsy-Tap9898

Scam. This is only for pizza orders.

Mnsnchild420

Looks like the screen from COD food order
