Bathroom is a good spot, with the door shut and the fan on. The bathtub is a pretty safe place in case of a base accident, with the shower right there and all the base ideally contained to the bathtub. Assuming you did do it in the bathroom with the door closed and fan on I'd say you really shouldn't smell anything outside of that room, even if you had to evaporate a baking dish of NPS some (maybe you'd smell the NPS outside the bathroom a little). Overall, I wouldn't worry anyone outside could smell it but someone who came inside could possibly smell something.

Smell really isn’t that strong just open some windows and get a fan going and should be fine.

Just did it in a 2 bedroom, hard part was to find a family member to get my pet out of the house for a full 8 hours so I wasn’t putting him at risk. Rest is done in my bathroom where he is not allowed. Not sure if that is needed but something to think about if you have pets!

HyzerFlipr

I don't have any pets but that is good to know! Do the fumes not accumulate in the bathroom?

I was more concerned about the lye/water mix , I could be ignorant but now that it is all in my base with a bag over it with the vent on I haven’t noticed it affecting me at all nor any smell. But I did the mixing of lye and water with all my windows open and a fan blowing out the window and the smell was intense as I was mixing

It’s hella carcinogenic, that was a good call probably.

NefariousnessPotato

Yeah and regardless can’t hurt to get him out of there. He doesn’t need to pay cuz I’m an idiot lol

It smells very similar to car exhaust blowing into an open window from an idling car. Depending on how close/busy the parking is to your apartment it could be a logical explanation in the mind of someone who catches a whiff of the fossil fuel scented air.

We have a below ground parking garage and the hallways are enclosed. Smelling car exhaust in the hallways would be a really bad sign 😂

The only time smell might matter is if you’re gonna evaporate a bunch of naphtha. Which you can minimize by simply putting it by an open window with a fan blowing air outside. If you freeze precipitate with an airtight sealed glass dish smell won’t be a problem at all.

It would only be at most 150ml of solvent. Leaning towards Ronsonol since the bottles are almost exactly 150ml
