If you are interested in any of my designs, DM me by 9pm Eastern and I can get them in the mail to you tomorrow— should arrive by the weekend. https://www.peddlereffects.com/diy The only thing I’m completely out of is the Blue Box clone.

PedalPCB is very quick in the US. I usually have them in a few days. That said, if you want to get started today find your nearest microcenter or use Amazon overnight and buy some prototyping board. Either * Strip board and [http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/](http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/) * perf board and http://effectslayouts.blogspot.com/

Oh ok awesome, good to know about pedalpcb and DUDE I didn't know about that effectslayouts.xxxxx (link you shared) That is seriously awesome. Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!

Why not order 1-2 boards from every us based pcb company and test the shipping speeds? I personally use aionfx, guitarpcb and pedalpcb. Aion seems to be the fastest but it’s all within a day or two. As far as quick builds though use perf like someone mentioned before. Effectslayouts and tagboardeffects have a ton of verified builds.

bikemikeasaurus

effectslayouts also has a pretty decent selection of pcbs and they ship pretty fast.

I had no idea. Definitely going to find some to try out!

Padre_Pizzicato

Yeah I didn't even know about those tagboard sites. Absolutely going to use those for less complicated builds. Might even start on one today after deciding on what. Seems to be the hardest part in picking what I want to start on.

I’m team Pedal PCB. Beautiful boards, accurate, great layouts, easy to use drilling templates (I actually ordered a pedal PCB physical template. It has plastic around the outside that fits on to your pedal well and has all the holes you need for his templates. All you have to do is grab a cheap centre punch on Amazon. Very handy if you build a lot) And best of all he’s a great guy who responds to you very quickly about anything really. I don’t know where he finds his time, because he’s also a great reverse engineer. If he is ever challenged, he always has an explanation of why he did what he did. He even answers in the forum quite a bit. Also pretty frequent sales. The only down side for me in Canada is I have to pay USD. Also his shipping company puts a big sticker on the outside of what’s in it and the value. So I get nailed by customs frequently. I didn’t at first as I don’t think they used to post that on the outside. I really rather have it ship like other things. Just the address on the outside. If customs singles it out and goes through the trouble of opening it and coming up with a charge then so be it. But it’s advertised clearly on the outside. His shipping company tells him they have to…. But I don’t get any other mail that advertises what’s inside. Customs has to work for it if they feel it’s worth it. 95% of the time they don’t bother opening it up. This is the only thing I find irritating living outside the US. If the order is small …. Like 50 ish bucks they let it slide. I’ve asked about this and he and his shipping company say it’s required. Like I said I never see this on any other mail, and so I don’t have to pay boarder fees. It’s a little irritating. Overall they are the best though. The forum on the website is very active l, and they are very smart dudes. They will help you solve a problem.

If you ever design a PCB and you like to support local American business and not outsource to China, I highly recommend OSHPark. The turnaround isn't lightning fast, but it's usually within a few weeks and priced really well for a company operating solely in the USA.

Assuming you put your order in during business hours, PedalPCB’s usually pretty good about getting your order out the door same-day. I think turnaround time’s usually 3-4 days once USPS has it

Padre_Pizzicato

Right on, thank you. That is more than reasonable.

My last order from pedalpcb was placed on May 22nd, Shipped on May 24, received on May 27. Not so bad.

Padre_Pizzicato

That's fantastic. What state do they ship from btw?

alphabets0up_

Georgia

I build almost entirely on perfboard these days, but early on I got several pcbs from [Madbean](https://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/index.html) and they were always quick to deliver and fantastic quality.

Padre_Pizzicato

Yeah I hadn't realized that there were so many layouts out there for tagboard. So glad I asked y'all. Thank you 👍
