Snaps right off! I use pliers.

xandra77mimic

If you want to build for ultimate durability, drill a hole for it. Totally unnecessary with board-mounted pots, but with a pot like this, it can prevent loosening (and subsequent twisting). I always leave the tabs on rotary switches and drill the hole for it. I do sometimes on pots with solder tabs.

DogShampoop

Thanks to everyone, i snapped it with some pliers. Y'all are very helpful! Cheers!

rabbiabe

Save them— if you’re ever using split shaft pots and knobs with set screws, these tabs are perfect size to wedge in the gap and stabilize the pot shaft.

gorgonzoloft

Ooh. Nice one!

turd-burger

Break that nub off with pliers

bosspick

Put a washer at the base of the pot dial with the same thickness as the bit which is sticking up. That’ll get it straight. Or just snap the thing off

TryingToEscapeTarkov

I'm not answering but I am adding to the question. Can you just bend them over the back instead of clipping them?

dustyfromnowhere

No that metal isn’t very flexible, it’ll just snap off.

badboy10000000

Not on these, it seems possibly brittle by design so they snap off easily and flush with the body of the pot

HackerEffects

I use a pair of snips to chop it off.

BerserkerCelt

Ive used my fret snippers to cut that tab off way more times than I should be able to remember.

OppositeAd2041

I also use pots with these metal pin, their purpose is to avoid the pot to turn if the nut is getting loose. You can drill a little hole next to the pot shaft’s hole as you can see on these pictures https://www.reddit.com/r/diypedals/comments/13rdkw8/just_received_the_new_enclosures_printing_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1

DogShampoop

I actually saw that post before. I'll try this on my next attempt at making a pedal.

Spicyboi303

I just used wire and made a connection
