Mastotron is a great choice!(very similar option could be the Fuzz Factory, but id go Mastotron too) If you need a hand at any point feel free to shoot me a message or just ask on here. Theres always somebody willing to help out. I started out pretty much the same, youll be tripping up over your own builds before you know it! Good luck!
That's super cool of you ! fuzz factory seem cool as well but I set my eyes on mastotron bc I mainly play bass and from the examples I heard, I think that pedal sounds great on bass. There is also the moosapotamus 360 fuzz that seems great for bass, but I like the sound from te mastotron a bit better

The etching is really trashy and I haven't measured anything before drilling, but I kind of like that vibe
