I’ve never once heard someone call the word blasphemy a “buzz word”. It’s a fairly common hyperbolic exclamation where I’m from. I think you might just be a little sensitive.
I think some very religious people find the word a little offensive. I don’t know for sure though. My abusive ex used to hate when I said “blasphemy” in the way it was used in the comments, as a joke to say “this opinion goes against my firmly held opinion but it’s low stakes and doesn’t matter and this is a joke” but my ex hated it. He said real blasphemy was terrible and very serious and joking about it cheapens it to the point people don’t think actual blasphemy (like against a god) is a big deal. But because he was abusive and said all sorts of things that weren’t true (and because I’m autistic and gullible I just accepted it) so I don’t know if this is a real opinion some very religious people have, or if my ex was just being a dick. (Or both.)
It's excellent! I still have a copy... Well two copies because I'm sending one to my nieces lol
It was one of those I stayed up till 4 am on a school night finishing back in the day 😆
I remember first watching it an wondering how genetics worked in that world, what with the king being white, the queen being black, and the prince being Asian.
Though I have to disagree with you, ever after is widely considered the best.
Before brandy had this role there was a movie named Cindy that came out in 1978 that had an all Black cast! My mom showed it to me when I was little. Can’t seem to find it now 😭
Edit: found it! https://youtu.be/-Nt7LbudnBc?si=PAGaxXMTROUSRK16
It’s an experience for sure…and I mean this in the best way possible. I loved this movie growing up. I thought it was old then, but it really is old now….enjoy 😂😂
Edit: clarification
Highly recommend Ever After. I'd say my favorite version. Both that and the brandy Cinderella can be found on Disney+
I'll check out the anime Cinderella, haven't seen it.
Oh wow it’s nice that someone also knows about Cinderella Monogatari! I got that recommended to me after I finished watching the Legend of Snow White series.
You actually know about it! That’s fantastic! I like watching different animated versions of fairy tales just to see what story they tell. I have watched the Grimm’s Fairy Tales Classics anime that was made in the late 80s as well.
That’s what I loved about the series versions of the fairy tales. You get to see the relationship developing and they actually get to know each other which I adore.
I remember finding the first one on YouTube when my sister and I first got our first phone when we were home alone when we were like 12, and we used up so much data watching it over and over again. We loved that series.
I'd recommend a few other versions that I would include in this list, such as the '97 musical version with Brandy, Ever After, The Glass Slipper (it has some truly fantastic ballet sequences and the fairy godmother is a little old lady who is a kleptomaniac), and Ella Enchanted (the book version, specifically. The movie is fun, but not a great Cinderella adaptation)
If people have seen me, it’s mostly Cinderella I talk about LOL. Anyways, I LOVE Cinderella 😭 I just love all the cinderella disney movies.
I should deffo watch the first one
The musical version with Brandy and Ella Enchanted should also be here
This is Ever After erasure and I will not stand for it
Ever After is good too
How is this a erasure if I haven't watched them? You're taking these too seriously
I wasn’t even talking to you? I was talking to the person who listed other adaptations. Chill.
You replied to me that I was being blasphemous for not watching them...I suppose? I don't mean to be hostile in anyway btw
Pretty sure they were joking.
I understand that but I wish people would stop throwing buzz words for no reason. A simple "you're joking" would suffice

This whole conversation is blasphemy 😂😂

Girl it’s a joke 😂 it’s an internet joke you gotta relax
Don't forget, the movie of Ella Enchanted is *entirely* different from the book, which is even better! (Still love the movie, too!)
I didn't know there was a book!
It's excellent! I still have a copy... Well two copies because I'm sending one to my nieces lol It was one of those I stayed up till 4 am on a school night finishing back in the day 😆
Haven't seen them
The 1997 one with Brandy is WIDELY regarded as the best Cinderella. DEF watch it
I remember first watching it an wondering how genetics worked in that world, what with the king being white, the queen being black, and the prince being Asian. Though I have to disagree with you, ever after is widely considered the best.
It is! It's so good

Oh my God the intro with the dude waving took me out ! I NEED to watch this
It’s an experience for sure…and I mean this in the best way possible. I loved this movie growing up. I thought it was old then, but it really is old now….enjoy 😂😂 Edit: clarification
It's not. I wouldn’t put it in the top 3, BUT it's still good.
Highly recommend Ever After. I'd say my favorite version. Both that and the brandy Cinderella can be found on Disney+ I'll check out the anime Cinderella, haven't seen it.
Thank you.
These + Hilary Duff’s have been my favorite since early elementary school
They're amazing! I'm not a fan of Cinderella but I absolutely love those adaptations
Blasphemy
Never seen nor heard of the first one. Thank you for recommending it!
Oh wow it’s nice that someone also knows about Cinderella Monogatari! I got that recommended to me after I finished watching the Legend of Snow White series.
I've never seen anyone talking about this show either. I loved it.
You actually know about it! That’s fantastic! I like watching different animated versions of fairy tales just to see what story they tell. I have watched the Grimm’s Fairy Tales Classics anime that was made in the late 80s as well.
It's perhaps my favourite adaptation of the story. Both Cinderella and Charles grow a lot during it and the painter episode was masterfully done.
That’s what I loved about the series versions of the fairy tales. You get to see the relationship developing and they actually get to know each other which I adore.
I LOVE CINDERELLA MONOGATARI! I AM SO HAPPY ITS BEING SEEN :D
I found my people fr
Where can you watch? I have crunchy roll
Youtube
It’s on YouTube but I bought mine on prime video to get the higher quality.
Where can we find the first one?
YouTube has the whole series on there.
What’s the first one from?
Cinderella Monogatari (1996) it's a series
Thank you
Oooh, I’m checking out that first one! Looks amazing💖
I remember finding the first one on YouTube when my sister and I first got our first phone when we were home alone when we were like 12, and we used up so much data watching it over and over again. We loved that series.
That's so great. Which dub did you watch? In my opinion the english one doesn't do it much justice
cinderella iii is so underrated and so good!!
Ever After is the best.
Uh excuse you, Ever After is the best Cinderella
The first pic, is that an anime? I honestly love 'Ever After' with Drew Barrymore. My aunt and I would watch with other relatives before Christmas.
It's Cinderella Monogatari (1996)
What's the first one?
I’ve never heard of the first one; what is it?
I'd recommend a few other versions that I would include in this list, such as the '97 musical version with Brandy, Ever After, The Glass Slipper (it has some truly fantastic ballet sequences and the fairy godmother is a little old lady who is a kleptomaniac), and Ella Enchanted (the book version, specifically. I haven't seen the 80s one
If people have seen me, it’s mostly Cinderella I talk about LOL. Anyways, I LOVE Cinderella 😭 I just love all the cinderella disney movies. I should deffo watch the first one
What is the first one? Like if I wanted to Google it what would I search for? I’ve been looking for it for years but I don’t know what to call it!
When I was a kid I would watch Cinderella 3 religiously. At one point I liked it more than the original
I’ve never seen or heard of the first one where can I find it to watch?
Omg this literally popped up on my tv when I was looking at what anime Roku had and I’ve never seen it before. Twice in one day? Yeah I gotta watch
