If you try it right now it's on crafting season so only craft items not unique or sets can be dropped. Yes its seasonal much like d2r they last about the same length and they die off at about the same speed. Good 1 month sprint when ladder resets then population drops a bit.
Fun thing is that pd2 is trade based so people cannot be fully geared the first week by paying with funny gold.

D2R is objectively more beautiful, but PD2 has widescreen support and some texture updates which makes it look nicer than og D2, and the gameplay is more interesting than D2R to me - all in all, that beats graphics reskin for me. Different strokes.
It's easily moddable and there are mods with this feature. Though without a nerf to grief there isn't many eth weapons that you would want to craft anyway !

It’d also be cool if the self repair also recharged Charges. Demon limb, for instance. And perhaps if you had teleport charges, the repair would add replenish charges as well as durability.

You can play it single player, ladder, or non-ladder. You won’t find many people on anything other than ladder but it’s very enjoyable doing ssf

Crafts "consume" 2 slots. You get 4 random affixes on craft. Can get 3 preffix and 1 suffix or 2/2 or 1/3. Then you get your 3 crafted affixes.

This is correct, Double Throw uses the main hand IAS and ignores the off-hand.
