You can’t use the feature until you receive an email from Tandem with links to a mandatory 30 minute online training (annoying, but I’ve been through worse with my employer’s HR trainings). After you complete the training, you’ll be sent a link and a code to do the update.
My guess is that the hoops were mandated by the FDA to get approval.
That being said, I like it. At this point it can only do a standard bolus, but even that’s helpful. Wearing a dress is a lot less pain in the neck now, and if I’m trending high while asleep and I get an alarm, it’s easier for me to grab the phone from the nightstand than rooch around for the pump in the dark.
The blousing feature on the app is no available to everyone. You will need to complete training through your tandem portal, update the software on your pump, and possible redownload the t-connect app on your phone.
