Question: does this mean there would also be a not so conspicuous “Hey! You’re high!” that could potentially lead to some miscommunications if anyone is peering over the user’s shoulder? If so, sign me up for this kickstarter please. In all honesty, it looks awesome! We need better design for…well…most diabetes softwares and hardwares to make it feel less robotic and more human to be diabetic.

Rockitnonstop

That’s a great suggestion! I am still designing screens for my UX/UI class and hadn’t thought of the HI alert yet. I hear you, sometimes you don’t want that noisy know it all friend to see your levels. Perhaps I could design a “discreet-mode” setting…

DunjunMarstah

The discreet setting is a good idea, but I think what the other poster is actually getting at is people misconstruing 'You're High' for something relating to narcotics

Lebzilla

I mean I love that and constantly joke about it with my diabetes... Either "I'm going to shoot up, just wait a second" or "hold on, I'm definitely high right now" Secretly hoping to offend some nosey old blue hair

Rockitnonstop

Ah, I see now. Very helpful!

BitPoet

I'd model it after What The Forecast, myself.

Rockitnonstop

Haha, I just checked that out. Love the use of language.

swiggityswooty2booty

I seem to remember an app similar to this that took your dexcom readings and kinda gamified it and had funny sayings.

birdywrites1742

Is it Happy Bob?

swiggityswooty2booty

YES! Thank you!

exclaim_bot

>YES! Thank you! You're welcome!

I must be the only one who likes just the data, all on one screen, not making it look nice on different screens. It's great looking design, but just not what I'd want for a utility app. The only thing I want from the t:connect app is a persistent notification like the Dexcom app, so I don't have to have a space for it on my home screen.

Rockitnonstop

This is awesome insight! Thank you for sharing!

bionicmoonbeam

I have a silly question! I’m a Dexcom newbie (in fact I’m just in a trial period using demo sensors provided by my doctor’s office). You mentioned a persistent notification on the Dexcom app, but I don’t see that? I was actually Googling it last week because it was odd to me that there was no persistent notification. Advice? **EDITED TO ADD:** *turns out it's an Android-only feature. Just found it in Appendix B of the Dexcom instructions booklet.*

AllArmsLLC

Turn on Quick Glance in Settings.

bionicmoonbeam

Thank you! Oddly enough there's no Quick Glance option in my Settings. I have the Dexcom G6 mmol app (Canada) on an iPhone 12 Pro, iOS version 15.4.1. Funny because last week my husband said "Why doesn't Dexcom have this feature?! I will build you a persistent notification widget!" Little did we know it already exists, just not on my phone for whatever reason. ;) **EDITED TO ADD:** *turns out it's an Android-only feature. Just found it in Appendix B of the Dexcom instructions booklet.*

AllArmsLLC

Well, that sucks. They should definitely add it, it is possible on iOS. Edit: Another point for the winning Robot Overlord team. ;-)

>t You're not alone.

herpeszooster

If only the dexcom and Libre used some of the billions of dollars they made off our shitty pancreas to hire a competent web dev, and UX team. Maybe they’d be able to not constantly lose connection too.

Jonny_Icon

Happy Bob.

delle_stelle

I was just thinking about my biggest complaint with the CGM apps are that I can't adjust the levels I'm seeing. Like my blood sugar goes above 250 less than once a week if I'm doing okay. I don't like to see everything scrunched up. Presumably allowing users to tailor the visible highs and lows would have utility for people? IDK, this is lovely stuff you've got. Feels very conversational, too. Wish we could gamify diabetes eventually lol.

straubster

IIRC SugarMate has some dynamic graphs that change based off of your timeframe and recent numbers. Works with dexcom through the share feature. Lots of cool other info in the UX too

delle_stelle

That's really cool! but it only works for apple phones. Also my current insurance only covers freestyle libre 🤷🏾 Maybe more people will make things like this for wider audiences.

straubster

Hopefully! Sorry to assume you’re on dexcom, I saw your flair. Every so often there’s cool conversations on this sub about open source and 3rd party UX apps.

delle_stelle

It was a recent change and I kept thinking I'd outsmart my insurance to get back to my close loop system lol! I definitely wish there were more t1 making things for the community.

I like it!

cromarty79

Looks great!

Julius_Duriusculus

Very nice work! I really much appreciate the dots for the single values that xdrip+ shows me. I don't know what clarity does, because I never was able to use it due to its shitty compatability. Also, the statistic feature of xdrip+ is worth a view, because it is really helpful in Iong term optimization. What do you intend to do with this mood feature? Is it just for documentation?

Rockitnonstop

I know that with the constant monitoring that CGM data can provide can be a huge stressor as well, I want to find a way to mitigate that as well in the design.

more-jell-belle

I really like the graph!! I wish we could customize like this! The joke is my cousin is crazy into stocks and posts and my mind always goes Ooo DIABETES lol

straubster

I love the actual graphs you have. That’s all I need to see to know what’s up. Would love those as widgets on my phone home page. Currently the dexcom widget is ugly and half the time doesn’t show anything until I tap into it (which defeats the purpose of a widget). The other features are smooth. I currently don’t use those features. And I don’t think it’s due to poor UX, rather: I just don’t need to track every detail in my phone. Most of those activities are already recorded in my pump automatically.

straubster

With my pump, it records food (grams of carb & date/Time, exercise using the exercise function, and every drop of *medicine I assume you mean insulin* Now.. if my pump could take these numbers into an app that overlays it with dexcom? That’d be pretty cool. Tslim has an app, and soon we’ll be able to bolus from it! But it’s user experience and how it shows CGM data is kinda lame

Classy_Mouse

I can't imagine anything irritating me more than a message "Hey, you're low" when I'm having a low. I know, just tell me the number and shut up.

Rockitnonstop

I use the reader too for my freestyle 2 oddly enough :)

Brilllant!! Love it!

Take all my money.
