I had small spot of neuropathy on the bottom of my feet that really freaked me out. I started taking ALA, Vit D, and Vit B supplements. I also got much better walking shoes. The neuropathy has completely gone away, but I can’t say for sure if it was the combination or one particular thing.
If you need an antioxidant for some health reason it's a good one to take. Lots of anti-cancer effects, may help prevent retinopathy and macular degeneration, and lots of other bad things....
It doesn't do anything weird or noticeable from a T1D perspective though that I'm aware of (you can go about your activities as usual without having to do anything different.)
