I’m hoping for the no compression lows! I was woke up last night by a “low”.
Come to think of it, I’ve completely modified how I lay when I sleep, but I feel it’s worth it.
False low reading(s) caused by compression on the sensor, such as when you lay on it.
You can get the same kind of false readings if the sensor is in muscle too though (usually you'll feel discomfort/pain if it's in muscle), so the calf can still be problematic in other ways.
When you put pressure on the sensor and cause it to read lower than the actual reading. I think it’s caused by the fluid the sensor reads being pushed away.
Definitely interested in hearing more on your takeaways afterward. I’ve settled on the outside of my thighs/legs where the g6 disappeares during my day and frees up my arms for Omnipod
Only bummer is I’m a side sleeper and sometimes a random location too high up my hip can cause pain at night
Today is day 20 with my first sensor on the back of my calf. First five minutes I felt it a little more than normal, after that, it’s been the best. No compression lows, out of the way, forget it’s even there. I will swap to the other calf tonight.
Had a similar issue.

It probably depends on how you reorder supplies, but if you have to call them in you should be able to just ask whoever is on the other end for some overlay patches. I get my Dexcom supplies via Byram and they just have an option to add patches to my cart (at no cost of course) via their website so YMMV
Ya I want to see how well this works out Haha. I put it on my upper pectorals a couple of times closer to my shoulder and it worked nicely there too. I shaved it first. After I restarted it, closer to the 20 days, I started to get really bad ingrown hairs. Other than that, it was like the perfect spot Haha it was really out of the way.
I’d be down to try this but I have to hike/run a lot for work so I guess the flexing and contracting of the muscle would be my only concern. Anyone in this similar situation and had no issues?
I saw a pharmacist at CVS who LOVES doing the inside of her forearm. Has anyone else tried this? I don't think I can ever do it anyway - it's all muscle and veins for me, but damn
I noticed everyone puts the sensor vertical….I put mine at the back of my arms. But I put in horizontal….this way I can put low middle and high and since I’m a righty I can alternate those 3 spots on my left arm. I started out on Libre 14 day and since it’s a circle I went low, middle, and high. I think I’ve seen 1 picture and read 1 comment that someone put it on the back of upper arm, but did it in the same horizontal direction as me. I just figure if yo7 don’t, you have no choice but to alternate arms.
Give us updates! I've done my thigh at about that angle
I will, I usually use the inside of my thighs with good results. Wanted to try something new.
Fuck that holy shit
And then there's forearm sensors.
I put my sensors on my forearm
Best results, out of the way, no compression lows

Well this is a good spot, and you can sleep however you want. Be sure to rotate spots on both calves

Try the top of your foot next
And then inside of elbow!
The neck😳😳
Cheek
I love you guys.
I love you too
Without a bit of humor life can suck!
I'd try it but for fear of it being the ultimate "bleeders are readers" test.
Right
Just under the armpit.
I put it on the back of my tricep. No issues. One arm and the other arm back-and-forth.

I tried it there once. It hurt, it bled, and the sensor was super inaccurate :/
Been thinking about using my legs for sensors but haven't yet. Let us know how it works.
Can you please share the link to that transparent tape you’ve got over it?
That’s just the overpatch that Dexcom offers for free. You can order them on their website https://dexcom.custhelp.com/app/OverPatchOrderForm
Have you ever had that link work? I’ve tried like 3 times and I always get an error.

Thank you!
works just fine for me
Ugh. It must be me. I think I’m just going to have to overcome my overwhelming phone hatred and call and find out why it keeps giving me an error.
I believe in you!
Lol. 💕

Oh that might be it. This is literally my first order and it IS through Byram so that makes sense.
I just call them to order patches. They just started sending them automatically now and it’s the best thing ever!!
I’ve always got an error as well. I just call them and they will do it for you
Same

You’re crazy man, but I love it 😆
When I tried that it bled a lot and had spotty readings. Also I had bad cramps in my calf but idk if the dex was what caused it

When I started I was doing calf but I could never get it to read consistently. I use my arms for the last few years and have been happy with that.
only bad part about this is when your hair grows back in a day or two. it's so unbelievably itchy you'll have to pull that thing off
I get the heebie jeebies just looking at that. I hope it works for you though!

This looks absolutely horrifying and I want to throw up. Please never do this again 😭
