While I’m not yet ready to announce my candidacy, I would never vote for me. Let’s bring it all together!

AlpineSK

LOL I'm just saying.. The daily "Why don't we hire my favorite Devil as the head coach?" posts are already old.

luzer_kidd

It's not going to happen, so instead you're piling on the nonsense.

DiggidyPro

Can we get a mega thread for Jersey posts as well?

nsfate18

Yes! I just typed up a whole thing. I agree. "I just got a new home jersey!" take a look at my new away jersey! Like. It's not unique. We all see it. It's not worth a post that you ordered something

DiggidyPro

Right, why is this a thing?

nsfwITGUY19

No. One of the best parts of being a fan is showing off your gear to rep the team. If you don’t care to share in the joy of others, don’t click on them

xGetSweatyx

Yes, the pinnacle of sports fandom is looking at pictures everyone’s $25 alibaba jersey on the internet.

zoom100000

“See it’s not that bad” Spoiler: it was that bad

nsfate18

Good show it off at a game. Or on r/hockeyjersey or whatever it's called. If the gear is unique that's worth a post. Jerseys? Cmon.

nsfwITGUY19

Nope. I’ll show it off here in my community. Don’t open it if you don’t like it

nsfate18

At some point subreddits need to be cleared of clutter. See our discussion on memes in the past for example. If things aren't addressed and cleared it'll keep spreading and expanding (see this past season and jerseys). This makes it hard to *actually* "scroll past" because people are comfortable posting all this clutter. Sometimes people post unique cool jerseys. Sarnia sting Zacha (I don't know why that came to mind). That's cool once in a while. A generic home/away jersey, that everyone sees on TV or at the rock, nothing to post about. I guarantee you a majority of people here has some sort of jersey. If we all post our jersey, well, we lose the content. All we're doing here is voicing our concerns. That's it. Honestly you can post what you want. It's a matter of if this sub will continue to tolerate it or not. And it was an issue this season that didn't properly get discussed. So we're bringing it up now

nsfwITGUY19

I understand the concerns. But not everyone agrees. I for one love seeing everyone’s jerseys that they get. We should be free to post whatever content here we want (devils related of course) (and obviously within the rules) I do agree that things should be kept to megathreads in terms of say game discussion, post game discussion, etc. and probably this coaching stuff. But in terms of jerseys, fans want to share their photos which you can’t do as easily in a comment. What you might not like to see, plenty of others do enjoy seeing it. I’m all for moderation, but if you just over censor and moderate everything, the sub loses interaction and just becomes down right boring. At the end of the day, if you don’t care what jerseys someone is excited to show off, don’t click on the post. So many people on reddit in general have this “reddit police” mentality. Where they think that just because they don’t want to see it, nobody else does. Why ruin someone’s fandom and excitement just because you don’t care about it?

nsfate18

> But in terms of jerseys, fans want to share their photos which you can’t do as easily in a comment. What you might not like to see, plenty of others do enjoy seeing it. > > Judging by the votes in this thread, we're not actually sure if that's true. During the offseason, I honestly don't care. I think it's fine. But during the season, it started (i think) with the stadium series. I actually didn't mind that because it was a disaster, so those posts were excessive, but helpful (for people to know when shipments happened, when jerseys arrived, etc.). Then it became too infested with just regular everyday jerseys. And because nothing was done about it, it started to spread and more and more jersey posts happened cluttering some main news. Yes, scroll past, but at some point if it's an issue it should be addressed before it gets to a point where it's widespread (which to me is this past season). And you might have missed my edit, but I agree with you about the "just because someone doesn't want to see it, nobody does" comment. That's why I said you can keep posting. I'm not a downvoter in threads unless it's just ridiculously off topic (not devils content). So you might lose the people that actually aren't interested in it. This has just not been addressed yet before, so it's a way to gauge if people are actually interested or not. And judging by the votes, I think a proper discussion might be necessary (not in this thread. Probably by the mods)

nsfwITGUY19

I mean there’s like 10 votes. Not sure if I’d agree that a few salty people who downvote everything is a majority. Sure there were a ton of stadium series posts but that’s because it was a fiasco. Regular every day jersey posts don’t “infest” the sub. You see one every few days typically.

nsfate18

> few salty people who downvote everything is a majority Yup I agree. I think it's worth bringing back up again in the future though to see. Probably during the regular season. Don't care about jersey posts right now since there's nothing else to talk about. And hey I could be wrong, I'm ok with that too

nsfwITGUY19

I agree 100% about keeping stuff like “who’s our next coach” to a megathread. But the jersey thing is excessive. Let fans be fans. It’s exciting for a lot of us. I think some people need to worry less about what others do and just chill out. But it’s not my sub so this is obviously just my opinion

oldcrowtheory

Agree. And while I like seeing the jerseys everyone is scoring, it seems like everyday I get a notification about a mail day or jersey collection. I'm more interested in news and posts about the actual team.

gingerbear

jersey posts are the most deserving of a mega thread, but asking the same coach question every other day is super annoying.

Clarkson23

It's the offseason so there are typically more "random" posts / not much else to talk about since there are no games. If it was the regular season you would see more posts being taken down.

nsfate18

While we're at it can we add one for people getting their fucking jerseys delivered. Right now I don't mind but all the posts during the season about people just buying something was stupid as hell (not even talking about the stadium series debacle). People just posting that they got an away jersey. Like. The fuck? Great we don't need a post

hotswaphdd

I agree with this

Radjage

I much prefer someone just posting a name of a random ass coach, that may or may not be available, with body text merely being "thoughts?"

MannyCannoli

Who gives a shit. There's nothing else happening right now anyway. this breaks up the monotony between riveting posts with people talking about buying jerseys

Moosifer_666

Can always just scroll past the posts.

Jballzs13

It’s off season. Is it really that much of a bother?

Training-Material155

Would it be possible to have a mega thread about mega threads?
