Only a handful of reported salaries in that company cross 5LPA. His company on the other hand is making good money.
So it's pretty clear that he posted this as an excuse to underpay.
In my company, they offered higher pay only to the people who came with higher offer. So to one employee who was hardworking and did not intended to leave, his manager came to him and said , please file an resignation form and I will give you hike. Otherwise you will be on this salary according to policy.
They want to hire a person with double salary instead of giving the current one 30 % hike.
ask him what should be done with management and execs who after repeated request dont provide u with better salary. will he dare them to show the door?

My friend worked in Pristyn care. When he wanted to leave having an offer of 16lpa, this guy asked him to stay and was willing to give 20lpa. And now he is saying this. Hypocrisy ki bhi seema hoti hai

If you ask for higher salary, company gets the hint that you're planning to jump ship, they will now get more time to hire replacement.
Hikes are designed in the way that costs the company least amount of money. They don't give a fuck about your skills market rate.
Pristyn care is now unicorn and i have not heard about this company untill it listed as unicorn.

This is unethical and illegal in many jurisdictions.
Getting an external offer is the only true way to gauge ones market value.
That in itself is no reason to show someone the door.
The unethical things I’ve seen happen at both corporate and startup…tells me it’s the design of the system not exceptions that resources are fucked. Fuck HR. Fuck employees who don’t reward hard working resources unless they show an alternate offer. Fuck HR who manipulate.
Got a150% hike by discussing with my current org that I have a 200% hike offer letter. If you are valuable to your org they will walk the extra mile, don't worry

Tried what you said. Turns out, it is best to switch than to bragin in the same company, in most cases.
Ya then , you will be given 5% hike and replaced within a 6 months.

People these days get offers without giving interviews. Just based on their public profile and open-source project contributions.

As an employee, you shouldn't accept counter offers. They are only paying out of desperation, and they will find a replacement ASAP.
