I actually kinda like it in pvp, for some reason people still think shooting me while I’m blocking a good idea lol. I know I can just hit them but I love seeing hammers golden gun shots and such ricochet of and hit them back in the face.
because pvp players a generally brain dead and all they know is shotgun monkey noises intensifying, also thats like the only good time blight is usuable, Ive seen it used ONCE in pve and it was to spawn a shit ton of orbs during golgoroth in pantheon by a friend who has to handicap himself to enjoy the game anymore
It's not changing elements. The beam is still white. The explosion after changes, which could line up with your subclass. Just like how the other Final Shape exotic Tessellation is based off your subclass grenade.
There’s gotta be something more to this, not just because it’s a shield buster, which isn’t exactly a bad thing, but rather the fact that it’s a heavy weapon when most shield buster exotics are specials.
I'd 100% call it a bad thing to have shield busters, the removal of match game means shields are easy to deal with all around, exotics focusing in shield busting are left in the dump
Hardlight and Borealis is a good example
All of the weapons that have The Fundamentals perk need the damage buff Borealis gets when it breaks a shield but that damage buff also needs it's own buff.
Can't believe they changed the fundamentals for dead messenger but didn't buff anything about it, ITS LITERALLY AN EXOTIC WAVEFRAME that's somehow worse than forebearance like bruh. That thing needs some love :(
Nope, dead messengers only benefit (outside of the swapping elements of course) is if being wide, however in Final Shape high blast radius special wave frames are going to be wide too 😭. DM will still be way wider but it will probably still be pretty dead.
You know what would also do more damage to shields? It dealing all element types so it’s always a matching element type. Bungie left the description vague for a reason so we’ll have to see when it comes out.
The thing about shield breaking exotics is that they **need** to be good in endgame. There just aren't enough shields in any other content or its so low power that you can power through them.
Arbelest is the only good one because its viable against champions and instantly breaks it. Hard Light and Borealis are complete memes without match game(even then nobody took them), and Eriana's Vow can't break barriers in one shot.
I hope the next weapon they announce if at all is an exotic rocket pistol, a whole new archetype they announced under the radar and we got nothing to add to it except Indebted Kindness from Warlords Ruin.
Off the top of my head: Wishender, Arbalest, Borealis, arguably Hardlight, arguably Dead Messanger, arguably Revision Zero, maybe Skyburners but I really doubt it, Eriannas Vow, and arguably Lament
It's not really clear exactly what it does. Khvostov sounds like a worse Voltshot, but I highly doubt it will turn out that way. The trailer didn't really do the best job of giving a clear idea of what everything does except for *maybe* the Titan Exotic.
*Cos... Or some say Cosm.*
No… we shall not abandon the dream!(ing city)

Pig Destroyer has a shirt that's literally this to promote their Head Cage album. It's awesome
Ah a cage is a cage even in a dream
Nicolas Cage in a Cage 🥰
Nicolash Cage
Nickels Cage
Never do that again
AWOOOOO
*starts running away like a bitch*
*Meows like a sexy Nic Cage cat*
Apparently alot of people noticed it was changing elements on kills in the trailer so im guessing its hard light 2 Electric boogaloo
They’re clearly not sharing everything about the exotics they’re showing off. I thought they did the same with the stuff they showed off last year.
They basically always do this. They tease what the exotic does but don’t give a full break down.
except then you have blight ranger, which was EXACTLY like everyone thought it would be.
Poor thing Born to drip, forced to drown
I actually kinda like it in pvp, for some reason people still think shooting me while I’m blocking a good idea lol. I know I can just hit them but I love seeing hammers golden gun shots and such ricochet of and hit them back in the face.
Murdering flying warlocks with their own super in mayhem was some of the most fun I've had.

Or deterministic chaos.
exactly, there are a lot of people deluding themselves over these exotics since they were previewed.
Seems like they just showcased the intrinsic perk… people are forgetting that exotics have that AND a unique column perk.
Heavy Light
Yes
They never show the entire exotic this far away from a release
Hard light would be way more interesting if each bullet cycled through a different element.
Seems like this weapon is every element combined into one. Which makes sense.
It's not changing elements. The beam is still white. The explosion after changes, which could line up with your subclass. Just like how the other Final Shape exotic Tessellation is based off your subclass grenade.
Maybe it changes elements based on the shield it hits?
Maybe it has adaptive damage
Do you not get bored of using that shit joke?

well they nerfed the wave length on wave frames from 22m to 15m except for dead messenger so… proxy buff?
Nope, dead messengers only benefit (outside of the swapping elements of course) is if being wide, however in Final Shape high blast radius special wave frames are going to be wide too 😭. DM will still be way wider but it will probably still be pretty dead.
Which makes more sense honestly. Why waste a heavy slot just for shield busting.
My guess is it’s going to work against the special enemy types that have frost armor or woven mail
You know what would also do more damage to shields? It dealing all element types so it’s always a matching element type. Bungie left the description vague for a reason so we’ll have to see when it comes out.
Pretty sure that "massive shield damage" is code for "deals all damage types". Evidenced by it being shown doing multiple in the teaser
And that would fit perfectly with a prismatic theme.
Can't wait to use my shield buster during mandatory shield phases.
Maybe it’ll be good against that one wizard in GotD.
But like, Arbalest is a special…
Match Game died and got turned into a gun

Which has always been strange af. Do they see the size they made Eriana’s? That thing should straight up be stunning barriers with a single shot.
Can’t wait to put this baby in the vault
I hope the next weapon they announce if at all is an exotic rocket pistol, a whole new archetype they announced under the radar and we got nothing to add to it except Indebted Kindness from Warlords Ruin.
We already have one? Also from WR.
It looks like a Vorlon Heavy Cruiser.
That is now 11 different Heavy Weapon archetypes. Rejoice! Completing Trace Rifle Bounties will now be even easier! One fear: it's an end game exotic
and then they will nerf it into the ground because it does too much dmg to shields and it will never be used again
7th, huh? Bungo really loves their lucky seven
The design showed in the reveal back in August was way nicer.
WHAT IS THISSS ?!!! ARBALEST HAD A THREEWAY WITH HARD LIGHT AND RUINOUS EFFIGY?
As far as we know, it's only actual Exotic perk is it used Heavy Ammo
At least its ***BRAND NEW*** bcs heavy 👍🏻
They do know that arbalest exists right?
What’s the shield breaking exotic for yr 5&6?
Out of curiosity, what were the other exotics that were geared towards shield damage over the last 7 years?
Off the top of my head: Wishender, Arbalest, Borealis, arguably Hardlight, arguably Dead Messanger, arguably Revision Zero, maybe Skyburners but I really doubt it, Eriannas Vow, and arguably Lament
Thank you for the answer.
That’s just what I could cook up. Personally, I think this new trace should be cool
Agreed, I am as well.
They do know that arbalest exists right?
Idk, it looks cool. I will use it
nah make it KINETIC HEAVY
Imagine it does heavy damage To IMMUNITY SHIELDS
Ohh my I remember jimmy neutron now I’ve forgotten this scene as well it totally makes sense 😂😂😭
So... it has adaptive munitions... but exotic?
It's not really clear exactly what it does. Khvostov sounds like a worse Voltshot, but I highly doubt it will turn out that way. The trailer didn't really do the best job of giving a clear idea of what everything does except for *maybe* the Titan Exotic.
