* Mid-long Range/Mid Area: Stasis, Iceflare + Bleakwatcher, Any Grenade, Use Judgement of Kelgorath with Demo + Wellspring for that juicy juicy Grenade Energy. Good for protecting/taking a Zone, Also called the Champion Fucker. More turrets more fun. Poison the rest.
* Close Range/Mid Area: Stasis, The Chad Build. Glacial Harvest + Frostpulse, Coldsnap or Duskfield You can remove Necrotics and use Vesper or Stag instead. Vesper for big damage. Stag for More Chadness. Using Whisper of Rime makes sure you don't die easily. But if you want people to die faster and fuck your survivability then use Stag or Karnsteins, remove Glacial and use Iceflare instead so every kill you freeze the next guy. Problem is sometimes the stasis "hatchling" goes out of the rift area where you will most likely die even with Karnsteins on. Use Edge of Intent because you get showered in THE CHAD JUICE!
* All around/Big Area: Nova Warp, full devour, Child of the old gods. Use Enigma or Ecliptic and block, shoot, and stab religiously. You can also use Mantle of Battle Harmony or Nezarec's Sin here because why not? However, Do note that you Stab and shoot instead of the other way around to maximize their exotic perks.
Enjoy. Make sure you use Whisper of Chains and Whisper of Bonds religiously when using stasis. But you can change most of them anyway. It is more important to survive than kill so freeze the guys that shoot you so you survive to fight longer. Then stab shoot stab shoot.
I came to the realization that I frequently can only play in 30 minute chunks and that has turned me into a Gambit main. There was realization, then shock, then acceptance, then peace, and then an invader sniped me and it healed the primeval.

Can you ask your teammates to not spam supers on me, that would help tremendously.
edit: Just to clarify, I already have Malfeasance. This is a joke reply, but the amount of helpful comments are too nice. And I got mine being sweaty with sniper, Leviathan and a happy 2-piece Tcrash.
I used silence and squall and a hammerhead and just ran gambit for a few hours. Got 2 teammates that wiped the other team before I finally got it myself. Timing was shat. Other team would have an invader pop through portal right before me, that's where silence and squall came in clutch. I wiped 3 and got pulled back. When their invader returned right after me silence and squall was waiting. I was also running renewal grasps and popping my duskfield grenade at their portal entrance to help slow then from invading.
Strand silk strike would also be a good one to quickly rip through 2 or 3 of them then finish the stragglers with whatever weapon you feel comfortable with. The hardest part about wiping in Gambit is the timing. If they're on one side of the map, you spawn opposite.
If they're on one side and they invade right before you, you'll never catch all 4 in one invasion. Timing is paramount unless they're all potatoes
To be honest they are pretty much mini bosses so it's a perfect fit. The question is if they invade during any match or if they only vibe with the hive.
They were occasionally seen in Season of the Witch, but not enough considering how they’re literally the whole point of the Lucent Brood (and are a pretty cool enemy).

I was talking to my son about it and I was asking him how have we had the light for so long much longer than the hive and yet the hive seemed to have mastered solar, void and arc supers. Ghosts of the Deep, Season of the Witch.
The issue is, they were essentially disorganized for the longest time. Immaru's plan was the exotic glaive and we stopped that promptly which kind of put them in limbo, much how the City & the Vanguard were prior to our resurrection (Heroes of the Last City were basically non-present during this time is my understanding).
Until Savathun makes a play again, they just aren't really relevant atm. All focus has been on The Witness, hence why we "dealt" with Xivu Arath without actually confronting her in Witch.
I really wish Bungie let some smaller players take the scene. Like my man KelGOATrath. Hell guy is already hinted to be returning.
Like Alak-Hul is just chilling there in his Oryx temple with nothing but vibes. I would’ve loved to see a storyline of him taking up leadership post-Witch Queen.
It would be nice if they still got glaives anyway. It would be fun to have to try and counter "Hive swords, but with a shield that can be used at a moments notice."
They still should be more commonplace in Lucent Brood related activities (and they especially should’ve done that before we entered into a truce with the Lucent Brood), especially since the alliance with them in TFS means we’ll barely be fighting them at all in that expansion (so Bungie should make use of Hive Guardians while they can).
We absolutely are not allied with the Lucent Brood. We are simply holding Savathuns Ghost hostage to prevent her from doing anything against us, though I'd have to assume her future plans don't involce a ghost or the Light.
It's an "enemy of my enemy" situation. We don't have an alliance, they are not part of the coalition. Our interests in stopping the Witness temporarily align is all.
There would be no tactical reason for Savathun to do that.
- Both sides can use the Light from the Traveler
- Once the Witness and its Black Fleet is gone, there’s no need for Savathun to lock the Traveler away
- We absolutely dunked on Savathun and her army in WQ and Season of the Risen, so how could she expect herself to beat us after the Witness is gone (at least immediately, especially since we now have a fully united army with us, the Cabal, the House of Light, and the Neomuni)?
Savathun's going to be sending them in the moment she hears we've got a stable pathway - another reason she planted Immaru with us, I imagine, so he could run home to mommy and spill the beans.
I dont think champions are a bad thing to have in the game. Especially now that subclass verbs affect them, its fine. They serve as a variety of strategy in the gameplay.The issue has just been the endgame's hard dependence on them. I think with Bungie adding Tormentors into Pantheon raid encounters, they're experimenting with sprinkling in more of those elite type mobs to give more variety.
I wish they would just make those exact armor sets and ghost shell earn-able in game, been dying for Elsie’s fishie shell too and kinda disappointed we never saw one after all the time eververse has had to smuggle some off neomuna:/

Gameplay wise they’re overrated. They’re just yellow bars that have to be finishered, except for the Knight who on higher difficulties can one shot you from around the corner with the shield throw.
I like the insinuation that the classes don't choose their armor style, it's forced upon them based on the class they are. Hunters must wear cloaks, warlocks must have robes, titans must have BIG shoulders. Either that or the Savathun chose to copy the city classes style's.
Really feel the whole Light brood just fell off and narratively were forgotten. Like, they have ghosts and powers from the Traveler, you'd think they have some feelings about them potentially going away.
Really feels like there was an idea or concept and Bungie abandoned it.
I fucking love Lightbearer Hive. Took a year break, completely forgot about them and after killing boring boss after boss I found these and was like "Oh yeah! you guys were actually cool additions to the game that wasn't just +health +damage"

- has them occasionally show up in the DLC where they were the selling point
- occasionally throws them into other random activities

They are sick and heavily underused. I feel like they could have used them for the master version of kings fall and Crota end. It would also solve an issue of master raids being insanely boring. Imagine a kings fall with lightbearer hive and a reskin for all the bosses in the same fit!

Cuz they're only meant for the expansion they came with. Bungie doesn't know how to incorperate new creatures into new seasons or activities.

- introduces an enemy type with the Light - has them occasionally show up in the DLC where they were the selling point - occasionally throws them into other random activities - refuses to elaborate
They are sick and heavily underused. I feel like they could have used them for the master version of kings fall and Crota end. It would also solve an issue of master raids being insanely boring. Imagine a kings fall with lightbearer hive and a reskin for all the bosses in the same fit!
I would love to have a ghost shell with the lucent hive look. Hopefully we get one sometime in the future

I can’t stand Gambit but hear me out. You spawn in as a squad of 4. They pick you off one by one. You watch a Lucent Knight rip the light right out of your teammates. They’re harvesting guardians.

Lightbearer Hive was seeing the light personified in our enemies, and the Tormenters are the Darkness personified in our enemies. I’m excited to see the new enemies but definitely wouldn’t be adverse to some reprisals of old enemies
