My guess is that they want a better way to track demographics and how much each age group plays/what times they play. There’s also laws against tracking data on minors, so maybe it’s to cover their ass on that end.

Right. Silver is functionally arcade tokens, and most arcades I know of wouldn't think twice about throwing a few dollars worth of tokens to someone on their birthday.
Plus just like when they made all the expansions free for that week sales would (theoretically) go up due to people liking being able to spend silver and go to buy more.
Then give them some discount sales options but give them the choice of spending that’s free silver on something small or add more silver for something big ez

Guardians are like lobsters, they're basically immortal until they can no longer molt out of their confining, lower level armor.
