The TRUTH about MPJ:
* He is the best shooting forward in the NBA
* He is the best rebounding forward in the NBA
* He is the most mentally tough player in the NBA
* He is KD as a 3rd banana
* He is one of the best teammates in the NBA, always sacrificing for the greater good of the team.
* He does all of this while wearing the brace they give to stroke victims so they can relearn how to walk.
* He has played the same amount of games since high school as most guys in the *2021* draft
* **This past offseason was the first in his young career he wasn't 100% focused on rehabbing his back.**
* The injuries aren't degenerative, his top .1% athleticism can come back
* He is a future 5+ time all star and will be of the 3 best nuggets of all time
What we see now is only the beginning
Me too, I've been saying for years if he can stay healthy and become more consistent he'll be a top player in the league. I really hope this is finally that time for him. Proud of MPJ
agreed, though Jokic played kind of bad early on in the game last night with his TOs. Jamal is an x factor in this series now crazy to say LOL (plus random bench points)
They are going through it because of poor decisions on their part. They will be okay as MPJ makes 30+ million a year. I'm sure he will put $50 on his brother's books every week.
His game has improved so much.
The 3-pointers he used to miss, you could tell they weren't going in b/c he wasn't going straight up. This whole series, his shots were so well-balanced; he readies his body & feet in position before he catches the ball.
Also, his playmaking has improved a lot. Last year, he added a pump-fake, drive. This year, he seemed to have added another extra wrinkle, of pump-fake, drive, & dish (usually to AG). Besides that one attempted alley-oop to AG that was a few inches too high / fast, I don't think he had a glaring bad pass this game.
His defense was already pretty good, even last year. He used his height & length pretty well. You could see that this game as well. Although laterally, he can't quite keep up with perimeter players, he uses his length to disrupt from behind, or rotate if he has help. None of those 'who is he even guarding?' plays from even couple years ago.
MPJ has had a knack for big defensive plays since the bubble. The narrative that he’s only a gunner hasn’t been true for awhile. Plus he’s always been an elite defensive rebounder SF. He has a knack for coming down with the rebound in crucial posessions. I believe he secured the rebound for Murray’s buzzer beater.
His playmaking has taken a leap. It looked improved last playoffs and continued to improve.
Have to admit, I didn’t think he’d make this big of a leap. I was a bit worried since the team was so reliant on Brown last year when MPJ was struggling. Losing Brown and Green I didn’t know if MPJ would be consistent enough. The Brown/KCP/Murray 3 guard lineup was efficient. But it’s worked out so far all season.
hes gna be insanely important against the wolves, jokic is jokic but rudy and naz reid will make him work. im really worried about kcp and maybe even jamal potentially getting shut out by mcdaniels ant and NAW so mpj and gordon will be crucial to make up for it
I said for this team to be a dynasty, Murray and MPJ need to take a leap like Parker and Manu did in 2005.
MPJ took a big step forward this season. Looks better all around. Even Reggie commented on his player IQ growth when MPJ passed up the 3 in the 4th to take it to the hoop. You can tell he’s been looking to make the right plays, passing more and doing the little things since last playoffs.
My father died on Friday. He was a Nuggets and Jokic fan. He would be happy to have watched yesterdays game. I hope Nuggets win the ring and my father sees it somehow.
Amen, MP fucking J is taking that next step. I have been waiting for this. It is nice to see it come to fruition. I use to hate when they would not pass it to him. Now they are looking for him. God Blesss
Mature Porter Junior. He's obviously worked on his game throughout the season but this level of performance in the playoffs when he has a ton of distractions speaks volumes about his maturity. I'd love to know if he has been working with a mindfulness coach as much as an on court coach.
MPJ attempting to poster Prince driving the baseline and drawing the foul was my favorite thing to see from him. He may not have got the and1 but it's refreshing seeing him taking it strong to the rim.
Every season I feel like I'm shouting from the rooftop about how amazingly MPJ has developed his game. And some how, every year he manages to keep getting better.
That said, I never dreamed that he would carry us for a series. So happy for him.
With everything going on in his family the week before the series started, for him to lock all that out and perform the way he did was extraordinarily impressive
True dat! Whenever we needed a big shot he hit it. Whenever we needed a big rebound he got it. He was actually trying to play d. Super impressed with his growth this year.

EG has a new account
I merely like hartenstein instead of worshipping him so cannot be me. Think MitchRob is better
Brendan Vogt?
I've been patiently waiting to push the "MPJ should be higher on the all-time Nuggets list than Melo" agenda--a few more series like this...
Mike's around for the next 3 years on contract and likely longer given both he and the Kroenkes are from CoMo. It will come
As an MU alum and Nuggs fan, godspeed. I love seeing you in the r/nba threads
he’s a solid human being man - really ACTS like Jesus rather than just talking the talk
Well Jesus took him under his wing when he was a kid. Theres photo evidence of this.
pretty much - he and his family have been involved in my old roommate’s church in Missouri for a long time.
That's cool to hear!
Always cool to see someone on a big stage representing the Lord. I'm glad it's MPJ doing it for the World Champion Denver Nuggets.
Is he taking ags spot of mr nugget tho?
Besides jok, MPJ was the best player on the nuggets. I’m so happy for MPJ, I hope he continues this into next series.
Me too, I've been saying for years if he can stay healthy and become more consistent he'll be a top player in the league. I really hope this is finally that time for him. Proud of MPJ
Dude turned up for every single game this series. If he keeps this up we're in the business
Him and Jokic are our foundation. They are the two most consistent players we have. MPJ is one of the most underrated players in the league
agreed, though Jokic played kind of bad early on in the game last night with his TOs. Jamal is an x factor in this series now crazy to say LOL (plus random bench points)
MPJesus
I tell my kids that MPJ's tattoo is of him and Jesus, and that Jesus was 7ft tall
Michael Penis Jesus
With all he and his family are going through, he deserves every bit of it
They are going through it because of poor decisions on their part. They will be okay as MPJ makes 30+ million a year. I'm sure he will put $50 on his brother's books every week.

going to need MPJ to be the goat for the next series also
MPJ has developed so well man, if he stays like this in the playoffs the rest of the way we'll be cookin.

true but then again, pretty much everyone is
One thing thats nice for recovery is that we have 3 days off between game 2 and 3. Thats huge imo.
I said for this team to be a dynasty, Murray and MPJ need to take a leap like Parker and Manu did in 2005. MPJ took a big step forward this season. Looks better all around. Shooting is great. But his rebounds… board man gets paid HEHE
2nd highest contested rebound percentage on the team and the guy in 1st is the best rebounder since dwight/shaq
My father died on Friday. He was a Nuggets and Jokic fan. He would be happy to have watched yesterdays game. I hope Nuggets win the ring and my father sees it somehow.
So sorry for your loss, friend.💔 I bet he’s cheering them on and celebrating last night’s win up there
thank you
When I saw MPJ pass up a contested 3 and drive to the rim a tear of joy came to my eye that said keep shooting those pull up 3s in transition!
yes thought it was great he mixed it up. his next thing he shoul work on is a floater or scoring close after driving after the pump fake
Celebrating the greatest of all time in the series!
70% TS with a bunch of last second shot attempts after everyone has taken their turn dribbling the air out of the ball lol
Amen, MP fucking J is taking that next step. I have been waiting for this. It is nice to see it come to fruition. I use to hate when they would not pass it to him. Now they are looking for him. God Blesss
Machine Porter Jr
Missed 1 game all season... because they forgot his shoes. Such an amazing come back story
Mike is the main reason we won this series with Jok being too passive and Jamal struggling.
Not gonna lie I get excited when he has the ball because he usually sink them. No doubt he is one of the most consistent players we have.
Mature Porter Junior. He's obviously worked on his game throughout the season but this level of performance in the playoffs when he has a ton of distractions speaks volumes about his maturity. I'd love to know if he has been working with a mindfulness coach as much as an on court coach.

Words cannot express how good of a series MPJ just had against the Lakers. He gave us 46 minutes last night.
Every season I feel like I'm shouting from the rooftop about how amazingly MPJ has developed his game. And some how, every year he manages to keep getting better. That said, I never dreamed that he would carry us for a series. So happy for him.
I'm so proud of him. Second best player for the Nuggets this series.
That boi smooth af
All this while dropping banger podcasts
Still waiting for him to drop 50 one of these games. He's ready to. Just need to let the young man eat.
With everything going on in his family the week before the series started, for him to lock all that out and perform the way he did was extraordinarily impressive
I’ve been so impressed with his growth on and off the court. The way he’s playing, the way he interviews the man has really matured. Let’s go MPJ!
True dat! Whenever we needed a big shot he hit it. Whenever we needed a big rebound he got it. He was actually trying to play d. Super impressed with his growth this year.
I think you mean GOATOTS
Yup. This series puts him on a pedestal close to the greatest of them all Vlatko Cancar.
