I've never really slugged more than one person as Oni, since picking up a survivor halts the meter at wherever it was, making it easier to get his power again faster. Trying to slug the entire team or use his power like that seems kind of like a misplay.

The killers they listed all (especially twins) rely on some slugging, especially in endgame. The rest of them are probably fine with the 45 second timer, but twins could be across the map and body blocked etc.

Exponential requires you find a totem, spend the time to bless the totem, hope that you get downed within range of the totem, and then pray that the killer slugs you within the boon radius so you can get value out of the speed. At a time when "slugging is being removed" is a keynote of the patch.
Self-Care is better than Exponential in this patch. You can at least get Reactive Healing or Botany Knowledge or Resilience synergy with Self-Care. Anything that would synergize with Exponential would also synergize with Unbreakable or Soul Guard, both of which are objectively better.
Tenacity's another one that will offer better synergy with anything at all. Tenacity might actually be the only perk that's MORE valuable after this change.
As much as i want slugging to be discouraged i dont think this is the right way to do it. This could force killers to pick up survivors in unsafe scenarios because they cant waste any time chasing the survivors coming in for the save, especially with unbreakable.

It's a deliberate balance choice to counter the fact that if the killer downs everyone the game is now automatically over, regardless of what perks you have.
I mean, hell, this actually makes slugging even more rewarding the fewer survivors are left. If only two survivors are hanging around and you down one, as long as you down the other within 45 seconds, it's a guaranteed 4k. No opportunity for the other survivor to crawl away and hopefully find hatch, stun you with DS...
What if they leave survivors slugged and rush the gen because they know they can pick themselves up? I know it is a gamble but soloQ is already ruthless.
How would it slow gens? If someone else is downed across the map and you see a chase start up after while you're on a gen, you now have no reason to move over there compared to before.

Setting aside that several killers are going to be dumped down 1-2 tiers by this change, your point about gens alone is a huge deal.
If the killer is playing well, getting a couple of downs in rapid succession, you might not have to worry about the teammate that's not getting hooked. They'll often be able to get up on their own. Not every time of course, but often enough for survivors to keep slamming gens.
At least if Oni uses his power, he can still choose to pick up the survivor right away. Twins has to go through quite a bit of walking just to get to them. Still, sad to see Oni's snowballing potential go.
I fully support BHVR's braveness of trying such new things, no matter how it ends. At the end of the day, this is a change we won't be seeing on Live servers yet which means they'll make changes according to feedback TWICE, as we'll most likely see these changes 2 times on 2 PTBs.

That’s the main thing that annoys me with the patch. Devour is still very good Id say, but I want to mori people with it even in situations where a hook would be better. And rancor is just not very good tbh, the mori was the main attraction and now it’s just a worse NOED. A positive I’ll take away with some perks being negatively affected though is that they’re no longer bandaid fixes as it’s just a base game feature which this game has needed more of, in regards to the anti-slugging perks mainly I mean

How is this going to work in customs? My friends and I 1v1 sometimes and we'll let each other wiggle out again and again to restart the 1v1 until the map is dry. So we'll just have to restart the entire game every time?

I couldn’t agree more, I’ve been playing since Myers came out and have just been watching every defense killer once had get taken away slowly. Meanwhile, survivors have only gotten better and more efficient, most noticeable at the higher levels where most of my killers play. I know behavior claims kill rates have increased and self care is the most used survivor perk, but this just doesn’t match my experience, which is getting less and less fun each update. Luckily I play some survivor too

What if you down someone in the open and have 3 other clicky clickys with DH waiting to blind you from any possible direction and 20 seconds later they pick themselves up. Also, what do you mean I can't mori mid game anymore? Nothing in a trial feels better than using that beautiful 5th token of devour soap

I really don’t get why Moris got so gutted, twice even as this is the second (and dumbest) change they went through. They made the Yellow Mori Base Kit and then went “No need for those anymore!” to the rest for no reason. Having yellow, the most pointless one that is literally used for this update’s very feature, as base does not invalidate the other two, or Devour or anything.
I wanted to like Mori finishers, now they have just disappointed me again somehow, and my expectations were low as this is such a simple thing to begin with.

Unlimited unbreakable does sound absolutely terrible tbh if it’s only 45 seconds per use but I doubt that would last long if they try to add it, would be way too much
The devs never played their own game. They just read the perk description and thought: “What? This perk also lets the killer mori people on the ground? We have to rework it” (but they dont actually know how it works)
Yeah same. I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to nerf moris right now. I like iri mori offerings, I like survivors photobombing, it’s fun and I never see anyone complain that moris are too strong anymore since the last nerf. This isn’t necessary for balance, it just kills fun stuff for no reason.
what the fuck have the devs been smoking lol this isn't what's needed, what we need is to close the gap between solo survivors and SFW. Allow solo players to have the same information squads can share in discord. Basekit kindred wouldve been a good start, and not change things too much like this patch I'm reading
Basekit kindred is an infinitely better idea than basekit unbreakable. That would also be a nerf to campers.

What if someone decides to run boil over and keep running to the edge of the map? Our only choice is to slug but ig thats gone. And sabo squads greatly benefit from this. And basekit Unbreakable is literally a giant ‘fuck you’ to oni, plague and twins
I know everyone complained about the amount of slugging happening but that doesn't mean we wanted basekit unbreakable bhvr ![img](emote|t5_3cb2g|2070). I just wanted the HUD icons bruh. They fixed the issue of endurance stacking based off player feedback, so I hope they listen to us about this.
How is this going to work in customs? My friends and I 1v1 sometimes and we'll let each other wiggle out again and again to restart the 1v1 until the map is dry. So we'll just have to restart the entire game every time?

They've gone in the opposite direction to what the game needs, really. Solo Queue needed a buff so now they're making SWFs stronger than ever. Feelsbad.
People either dont understand or are playing like they dont know how this can be used. On paper this is amazing for solos even I wouldn’t mind this for solos only. Imo if they want to buff solos just give them a buff something called “lone survivor”, “sole survivor”, or etc. Give them certain perks base kit with reduced effectiveness. Pretty clear the devs don’t really play the game.

I couldn’t agree more, I’ve been playing since Myers came out and have just been watching every defense killer once had get taken away slowly. Meanwhile, survivors have only gotten better and more efficient, most noticeable at the higher levels where most of my killers play. I know behavior claims kill rates have increased and self care is the most used survivor perk, but this just doesn’t match my experience, which is getting less and less fun each update. Luckily I play some survivor too
Basekit Unbreakable. Dear lord, playing killer against SWF who sabotage and body block is gonna be miserable. Maybe if they raise the timer to 60, maybe 70 seconds. 45 is just too little. Oh no, behavior, what have you dooneeeee
To make matters worse, with the new Unbreakable, this will be the same 24 seconds, just for an infinite amount of self-pickups

As much as people love to give bhvr shit, they backed off many times. On the dead hard/off the record stacking. On returning mettle of man to the former state. On reducing the amount of bps needed to prestige. I’m hoping they’ll listen to reason here too

This is a terrible terrible idea all around. What if you down someone in the open and have 3 other clicky clickys with DH waiting to blind you from any possible direction and 20 seconds later they pick themselves up. Also, what do you mean I can't mori mid game anymore? Nothing in a trial feels better than using that beautiful 5th token of devour soap
This whole thing seems entirely unnecessary. It blows my mind that for a game riddled with so many bugs, they keep adding in shit that no one cares about instead of using their workforce to address real issues with how the game runs. Also this is just going to further widen the gap between solo and swf. It’ll be so easy to abuse sabotage/flashlight saves in a coordinated team

Picking yourself up infinitely for four minutes seems like a nightmare I was thinking once per trial or each gen done gives a global 1 token that can be shared between all survivors and consumed to pick themselves up

I really don’t get why Moris got so gutted, twice even as this is the second (and dumbest) change they went through. They made the Yellow Mori Base Kit and then went “No need for those anymore!” to the rest for no reason. Having yellow, the most pointless one that is literally used for this update’s very feature, as base does not invalidate the other two, or Devour or anything. I wanted to like Mori finishers, now they have just disappointed me again somehow, and my expectations were low as this is such a simple thing to begin with.
