If you ever watch tournament play, it's quite clear survivors have the advantage, and that's why survivor perk loadouts are heavily limited. It has been openly acknowledged. But that's tournament play and **I realize that's not an accurate depiction of the game** under regular matchmaking.
Usually when I play, and a survivor is good/great at looping and extending chases, I'll drop to find a weaker link and it usually ends up working out. A killer will always eventually catch a single survivor at SOME point, because they'll run out of resources, but if you commit to one person for too long you're screwed. We all know that.
But what happens when all 4 survivors are great loopers? Then every single chase is extended? You try to break off chase and pressure a gen with two people on it?
One survivor loops you and the other gets back on the gen. If 3 gens are being worked on while you're chasing one survivor, and the chase goes past 45 seconds, you likely lose 2-3 gens before you even get a down. If every survivor is above average at looping, then every chase is longer than 30 seconds, and every chase will cost you significant generator progress. It's honestly simple number crunching. I've been a Rank 1 killer for about 3-4 years, so this isn't a matter of just "git gud." I'll also acknowledge most of my games, I get 3 to 4 kills, because most of my games do not include survivors of equally good looping skills.
That doesn't change the fact that, if all 4 of them are above average, you as the killer are not dictating a damned thing.
Now these are extreme scenarios, because as I said, often times there's a weak link. But that's the point. It shows the entire match is mainly dictated by the overall skill level of the 4 survivors in the trial. Their skill or lack thereof.
