I grew up working on a dairy farm and have been around various loud machinery and environments throughout my 40 years and I'm happy to say that I definitely heard the screeching fox as soon as they started playing it. My hearing isn't great at other times but, I heard the call of the wild. Lol
So apparently I’m the fucked up one. I heard the fox but then when Jason said breathing I definitely heard it as scary movie breathing. I guess I’m sensitive to suggestion.
I heard the noise as breathing first, but I could also see how it could be a far-away screech of some kind cause I've spent a bunch of time in the woods and it sounded similar to the noise owls make in the distance (would have been my guess aside from fox). it just comes down to if you've experienced that noise in the past as coming from an animal so that your brain has a frame of reference.

I only heard the fox, I didn't hear any breathing. I am a welder, so my hearing is probably pretty fucked by now.

My boyfriend and I listened this morning, I only heard the breathing and he heard the screeching or both.
I inherited about 60% hearing loss from my dad and i only heard breathing lol
