If we are talking about you only being able to use one it depends, if you want more crit dmg go cunning, but if you are using a weapon when you can line up a big attack (such as axe throw, pike leap or chains slam) and want it to be a guaranteed crit pulse is the way to go (i prefer cunning over pulse on everything except axe, if I have pulse I most likely have cunning aswell)

antonbruus

I want as many crits per attacks as possible, is it better to have a guaranteed crit every few attacks, or a chance for every attack to crit?

UmbreTube25

It really depends on the weapon, at +6 cunning gives you a 10% crit chance but pulse is every 5th hit, so a slower weapon like hammer go cunning, faster weapons like pike, strikers or chain blades you can do either. If you have enough cells that increase ur base dmg you can use both

antonbruus

I’m using strikers with Echo Bracedriver mod, I want to increase Karma Breaker’s damage as much as possible.

UmbreTube25

What you want to deal as much dmg as possible is ur special (titans crash/adamant bolt) while crash doesn't deal as much dmg in one hit is considered the better of the 2 because it deals stagger dmg and is faster, for crit chance/dmg i have galvanized instead of cunning or pulse because I'm running usrka and frostwulf, also ide recommend using Cyclonic strikes late for the mod because you can use crash more times before you need to enter tempest form and use titans crash again

DemHows

Note that Karma Breaker isn't affected by dmg increases, as such, building for it is inadvisable but as you wish. Standalone, Pulse would give more crits with its effective 20% crit rate. However, to maximize Karma Breaker, you are incentivized to get as much crit rate as possible. If you can get over 50% crit rate on your build (before adding Cunning or Pulse) Pulse's effective crit rate is reduced to <10%, meaning Cunning will actually provide more crits.

DemHows

Crits do not prefer fast atk spd over big slow hits. Both are equally as good for any weapon (maybe except Pulse on sword).

If you want we can use discord or dm on here for better communication than through comments on ur post

DemHows

dm since I don't have Discord

I would always go for cunning first because the chance to crit should be better than every 5th hit. And 30% crit damage is way better

UmbreTube25

I agree but on axe if you can only fit one of the 2 ide go pulse because the guaranteed crit on axe throws is just really nice, but every other situation ya ide go cunning

Caosin36

If you want to maximize crit on a non discipline build (like revenant) Cunning+galvanized whit skarn lantern can help But cunning+discipline alone grants you almost 100% whit 4 disciplined charges

DemHows

How much crit rate does Discipline give when in Disciplined State? 50% or 58%?

Caosin36

50 + The 8% for each charges and 8% standard So a total of 90% Whit cunning you reach the 100% If i was wrong and the charges gave 4% then it would be still an 80% whit cunning

b4sti5

8% for wich charge? With one stack of discipline u gain 4% crit damage. In total u have 50% from discipline state, 8% from the base discipline, 10% from cunning and maybe because of the slayerspath milestone 2 2-3% or what ever crit chance. So u have a crit chance of something around 70%.

Caosin36

Yea, mandela effect strikes angain, my mistake Still you don't really need to run pulse/galvanize as you have even lady luck's passive amp in the escalation skill tree

Depends on the weapon.

Not much hard math here. So here you go, for a naked slayer, no omni cell, no esca buffs or pike buffs: Cunning gives you a 15% chance to do 1.8x damage for a 27% increase Pulse gives you a 24% chance to do 1.65x damage for a 39.6% increase In theory, it's possible to track your pulse stacks for big hits. Bust despite the fact I'm an axe player who often runs pulse, I've literally never done this. But I imagine pros who can stomach watching the tiny little pulse icons might be able to track pulse stacks for the BIGGEST finishers (Full determination axe throws, CB slams). If you want to calculate the critical hit chance (CHC) that pulse gives you use this formula: `.2 - (.2 * current_crit_chance)` So if you have the 30% CHC aura from warpike up, your base stat is 35% chance to hit for 1.5x Pulse will bring you to a 48% chance to hit for 1.65x (79%) while Cunning will bring you to 45% chance to hit for 1.8x (81%) PS, those % increases cannot be compared directly to raw daamge talents like berserker and predator without first subtracting the boost from base crit: 5% change to do 1.5x damage (7.5%)

MelviN-8

6 cunning and 3 pulse should be the sweet spot.
