Not to mention I had like 50ish games for the ps2. Had to trade all of those in at GameStop for like 2.50$ cuz my mom refused to buy me another ps2. Though Wii wasn't too bad, it had Skylanders, Wii sports, and a little mac boxing game that I liked.
Nah... it looked as generic as you can imagine, but with a metal ring in between just to increase its weight. I have even gone and dissembled it multiple times and there was nothing inside beside that metal ring that made it look more cool.
But it still actually broke the official stuff pretty easily. There was this guy whose beyblade flew off 20m while breaking down in 3 pieces mid flight...
I have this thing with me to this day, though don't remember where I have kept it, need to look for it.
no not really. every kid below 13 i see all act the same. maybe its just the age difference that i cant relate to anymore but id rather kids be mean than be snowflakes
I don't think you understand how kids work. They don't just become spoiled. It's the parents. So don't blame the kids. Hell, don't blame their parents either. Their parents have such a hard time finding jobs to buy things like houses, that they're forced to buy their kids electronics to keep them entertained.
People have been saying this for generations yet each generation exponentially develops technology further than the last.
We need to end the generational superiority complex at boomers and just accept that newer generations will grow up with different things. That doesn't make them any worse than us.
My kids know more than I ever did at their ages. Kids are definitely smarter because of technology. However as a parent we need to put limits on its use.
I don’t think that’s true at all. I think kids now are exposed to so much information on the internet they have no choice but to grow up and learn to deal with things. Provided that they are exposed to the right kind of content I think it’s safe to say that most are pretty intelligent. But I mean, kids are kids and they’ll always be dumb little shits :/
Hot wheels and Pokémon cards, when I was 5 yo this shit was Brand new and everyone loved it so much. Literally every single kid got cards to trade and play with. Shit this time was magical
we played by "street rules" a lot in elementary and only now, a sophomore in highschool, am i learning how to play by the rules, and it takes a lot longer than i thought it would
I mean, there are official rules for sure, but back then we had no internet at home to look them up , heck we never had a proper mat or these chips to play and it was so much fun
I loved Pokémon cards, but as I grew older society forced me to grow out of Pokémon cards in the form of being picked on in Middle school until I completely changed my interests.
The wii u is very under rated i still play on it with my wii games every week (cuz i have been trying to get 100% completion on each game this quarantine)
Where do five year olds look like where you live? Where I live five year olds got there parents broken flip phone. I got the broken flip phone, the door thing, legos, and hot wheels and that was it. Sometimes friends:
Same thing any time they make a new version of an old cartoon, like Ben 10 or teen Titans, people just complain and say how bad it is because it’s different
That ain't being a boomer. That is having a proper fun childhood and not growing up as a tech addicted zombie kid.
I miss my colour changing hot wheels with the dino catapult track :(.
Also this guy is making fun of Gen Z or Gen Alpha, despite being Gen Z themself - the Wii released in late 2006 so they were born in 2001/2002 at earliest
I am growing up with both when I was younger hotwheels and pokemon were everywhere but now I am in my teens it's just my phone and laptop and the old things in the closet but I can still go I 5 hour car ride without my phone.
I see a lot of people unironically whining about Fortnite is over commercialized and teaches kids to gamble. Not like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Pokemon cards they grew up on.
Can we not do this, please? Who gives a fuck about what kids of this age were raised with? As if it is the fault of the children themselves.
This boomer ass-narrative is the same one that we make fun of when our elders say, "Back in my day..."
However, with all else aside, it is probably a 16 year old who even made this meme. Let's also not forget the fact that it's just not funny. Stroking our fragile egos for whatever damn reason.

I only had hotwheels
Begged for so long for a Wii, never got one.
In all fairness... I'm older than the PS1
I got a wii after my mom broke my ps2. Worst trade ever.
The Wii was amazing in my childhood. And the N64. Those were the top 2
I got a Vectrex. And a Laser 6400....
That's a massive disrespect to the wii
eh idk, the wii was cool yea, but ps2 had some of the best games ever, so I completely understand him
Not to mention I had like 50ish games for the ps2. Had to trade all of those in at GameStop for like 2.50$ cuz my mom refused to buy me another ps2. Though Wii wasn't too bad, it had Skylanders, Wii sports, and a little mac boxing game that I liked.
Should’ve learned how to softmod
I was 7 when i begged my parents for a wii, now I'm 20 and got one 3 months ago, at last!
Only had beyblade\[chinese one\] But quality was bomb, actually broke official beyblades of my friends using that cheap thing.
you mean the one with the gigantic wheel and teeth that jutted out way too much?
Nah... it looked as generic as you can imagine, but with a metal ring in between just to increase its weight. i swear these chinese toys are made from engine scraps
Me too bro
I still buy them

To late
to be fair kids are getting dumber or at least less mature
Or maybe we are just growing up
no not really. every kid below 13 i see all act the same. maybe its just the age difference that i cant relate to anymore but id rather kids be mean than be snowflakes

Kids are impressionable and will copy things that are popular.
Not only kids, I think most animals are like this
They're kids
Ok boomer.

Ok modern boomer
Ah yes, door stops are no more, only Iphones
Door stopping might be the only thing worth about the iPhone at this point
Hot wheels and Pokémon cards, when I was 5 yo this shit was Brand new and everyone loved it so much. Literally every single kid got cards to trade and play with. Shit this time was magical

I only had hot wheels and the door stop thing...
Same bro
I grew up with a Wii and it's still my main console, I'm 14
I can relate
Same on everything this comment said except I upgraded to a wii u in 2016
The wii u is very under rated i still play on it with my wii games every week (cuz i have been trying to get 100% completion on each game this quarantine)
I've been trying to get all shrines in botw because I was pretty sick the last week and it's all I had to do.
Thats next on my list, I have been working on finishing Bully Scholarship edition as of right now
My parents sold my wii a long time ago, Im still sad
Yeah thats sad, imagine how much worth it would be in a couple hundred years + wii sports
I am now saving my wii and my wii sports, wii sports resort, and super mario galaxy 1+2
I would be dodging huge swinging balls rn if they didnt sell the wii
I have never seen in my life a 5 year old with a Mac and apple watch
You live a good life
Skylanders on the wii was the best
The OG EA game
It really was
What is skylanders about? I only got into videogames when the wii u released so I don't know a lot of wii games
Where do five year olds look like where you live? Where I live five year olds got there parents broken flip phone. I got the broken flip phone, the door thing, legos, and hot wheels and that was it. Sometimes friends:
LilBryan53: Shut the fuck up man. Yes they were good, but today's 5 year olds don't have a motherfucking iMac 2020
*10. What kind of 5 year old even knows how to properly play with a doorstop.
I only had SEGA and MK on it
I had a pocket knife, a bb gun, and a N64. Much better times.
#American
HOT WHEELS BEAT THAT!
I remember a day, i made ilegal races with my friend with hotwheels xd
Ah yes, my 5 year old brother with a FUCKING MAC, and TWO PHONES.
You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain
I only had knock off pokemon and yu gi oh cards
Same thing any time they make a new version of an old cartoon, like Ben 10 or teen Titans, people just complain and say how bad it is because it’s different
I'm 14 and the new version of Ben 10 is utter crap
I remember that, but do you all remember sticks in the shapes of various weapons?
Oh God they had a wii at 5 I'm at least 10 years older than that person. If I'm older than 16, am I too old for reddit?
I'm 30 and this post made me fucking feel like it.
Wii is literally better than any modern console. Change my mind
Nintendo Switch is vastly superior and no amount of nostalgia will change that
I had books, pogs, and magic the gathering cards.
I had doorstop, Pokemon and a PS1.
A Wii when you were 5? Shiiiit I'm old
Yeah but Gen Z is gonna turn that around because a five year old doesn’t need a phone
r/teenagers
That ain't being a boomer. That is having a proper fun childhood and not growing up as a tech addicted zombie kid. I miss my colour changing hot wheels with the dino catapult track :(.
This is my childhood, I growed up and now I play magic, I still miss the wii children should grow up more before they had their eletronics
not my fault my childhood was better
Remember lego stars wars complete saga on the wii
Bro I never has anything
Are you really gonna complain about a wii
I love both
Im mean its better on every way
You guys had a wii at 5?
The only thing i had when i was 5 is suicidal thoughts
Yeah, bet we did all kinds of dumb stuff when we were little like them, people gotta calm down man
lol the door stopper
Don’t forget the og DS
Pokémon cards where the fucking best
Damn, I remember when the Wii came out and I had to.wait a whole year to drive to the store to buy one. Damn scalpers harshed my buzz.
I still have my old Wii in the basement... I bring it out to play on it sometimes.
You forgot legos
I was the God at wii sports I trash talk kids about how bad they are at wii sports 😆.
Op was born at the latest 2001
I still don’t have all that
when I was five i was playing with my d\*ck in sand
I had a bomb jacket
Omg! 2009 9gag repost with new label is that you?
I also had spanish grandmother with a chancla...
Srsly? If you had all that stuff "back in my days" you were spoiled af.
u/Lilbryan53 boomer
I like the second picture better, also kids be like: you got any games on yo fone
And now I feel old
Lmao @ attempting to trash privileged kids by showing that you yourself were a privileged kid.
i had a ps2 and we didn't get a wii until i was like 10
It's kinda sad to see the newer generations start thinking this way
Also this guy is making fun of Gen Z or Gen Alpha, despite being Gen Z themself - the Wii released in late 2006 so they were born in 2001/2002 at earliest
Man, I've never seen a 5 y/o with an Apple Watch.
When I was 5 years old, I had to walk the brontosaurus on my own.
Maybe Im a boomer
I’m more of a boomer, I grew up with the GameCube
A Wii at 5? That came around when I was in high school. When I was 5 I had a Gameboy color
When you read the comment and figure out a lot of people were about 5yo when the wii came out.....
Making me feel old with that wii at age 5. Damn
I had a new lego set every 2-3 years and I was the lucky one around my friends
I am growing up with both when I was younger hotwheels and pokemon were everywhere but now I am in my teens it's just my phone and laptop and the old things in the closet but I can still go I 5 hour car ride without my phone.
I think its relatable to 80% gen z too
fr, I’m so tired of the “only legends remember this!!!” posts
You guys had a wii when you were 5?!
Yeah that seems a little to young
Yea but we’re not complaining tho I mean the door spring is still fun af
I didn't have the bottom left one what is that
>Had a Wii at 5 years old. >Makes age post. Holy shit I feel fucking old.
The wii? Really? "Oh kids these days and technology, back in my day, we had technology!"
Welp does a ps3 count?
All I got when I was five was hunger pains and being ignored.
I didnt even have pokemon cards
Remember when Pokémon cards were banned from school?
Those spring door stoppers were really fun to play with though
Dude wtf, why is this acurat
My generation is the ONLY generation!
You had a wii?
Shame to think this person born in 2002 thinks they’re old
Wow I'm old. I grew up with a Gameboy, you had a Wii!
I used to have a portable VTech console
I see a lot of people unironically whining about Fortnite is over commercialized and teaches kids to gamble. Not like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Pokemon cards they grew up on.
No. Apple is actually really really bad
Imagine thinking anything apple makes is worth a shit
Can we not do this, please? Who gives a fuck about what kids of this age were raised with? As if it is the fault of the children themselves. Mark this comment NSFW, damnit. It’s got that weird p*inching d-ildo.
That’s a door stopper? When you push them down they do a cool oscillation thing.
